I had suffered from deep depression for over 50 years and no one knew because I was able to keep a smile on my face and make sure everyone around me was ok & happy and anything I could do for anyone so they wouldn't experience what I was experiencing that was my drive, it was since I cannot be happy at least let me do all I can to make others happy and literally would pray for God to take me out of this crazy world, what saved me and brought me out was the grace of God I went after him with everything in me until one day all the darkness just vanish to no more to return as dark as it can get it can be bright, MY HEART AND SOUL GOES OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND ALL THAT ARE DEALING WITH THIS, BUT THERE IS HOPE AND DELIVERANCE I AM A LIVING WITNESS

I’ve been emotionally challenged for most of my 62 years. I have to fight it away every moment of everyday. I use my happy face to everyone so they don’t know I’m falling apart. I’ve been at the brink of doing it, but my love for what my family would feel keeps me here and I’m blessed to have that saving Grace. I’ve given my life to God under no religion and strive to live my life for Him no matter how low I am. That’s why I’m still here.
Twitches death hit me real hard today and I find myself here letting people know that this world needs love and kindness and understanding of those with mental health issues. There not enough drs and therapist for us out there. Please be kind because you never know who love your kind words might save from death

Hi Lisa!! My 40 yr career was in mental health where my eventual focus were men who ended up on the psych ward. It is known fact that women will seek help before men. As a sad rule, men will live with there torturous thoughts to the point where they see only one way out. Some thoughts have them fearing they will hurt someone else so they end those thoughts by taking there own lives. I’m no psychiatrist but I’d venture to guess he was suffering from what is called rapid cycling also known as racing thoughts where the torment is endless. I’ve seen countless men and yes, women too, grab there heads and plead for “it” to stop, crying uncontrollably. I would hold there hands and assure them, it will go away once the meds kick in and forcibly reiterate that once he feels human again, STAY ON YOUR MEDS. Men are more apt to stop there meds once they feel Whole again and when they plummet to there dark place, we’ll see them back on the ward or worse. Don’t get me wrong, women are not immune but will seek help before men on a scale of %80. The stigma attached to mental illness prompts men to suffer in silence. Everyone of us is susceptible to mental illness at any given time in our lives. Pertaining to men, the torment in there thoughts are debilitating to the point of desperation. I hope you can seek help to live a fulfilling life. I’m a 65 yr old women who lives in a family of 12 where mental illness is rampant in my family from my siblings to nieces and nephews and yes great nieces and nephews. Mental illness is factually hereditary, which is why I chose my career as a psychiatric nurse. My career was very rewarding despite the several losses that were heartbreaking. I don’t know about the availability of mental health care for yourself, but I strongly recommend you seek out the help you need. I’m Canadian, living in Western Canada. Mental Health Care is prioritized here. Stay Safe and Godspeed!!

@@shirleyjcoombs2066 thank you so much for your reply. I do suffer from racing thoughts as well. I need to have constant distraction to stop the thoughts and the replaying of nightmares. I’m under great mental health care, will always take my meds and have a good understanding of the illness but it is very difficult and have been at the brink before.
My faith in God is what keeps me on my meds and doing all I can to stay safe from listening to the thoughts.
I pray peace and happiness for you and your family. Have a nice holiday season

I’m glad to read you have an awareness of the negativity being the illness and not reality, and that you seem to realize suicide is a *permanent* solution for a *temporary* problem. I have a paperback workbook called “Feeling Good” that uses written exercises to address negative thoughts, which I refer back to often. But the best non-pharmaceutical solution is a 45-60 minute walk through nature/outdoors every day. Humans weren’t meant to spend all day every day with our devices & tv’s! God Bless you on your journey. I’m sure your words have helped someone today Lisa 🙂

In a split second those demons have so much control over a person's life so much so that it can alter a person's life including their families. Mental health is REAL and we as society and a country need to make it a priority.

Demons only have control of you if God himself not involved I have mental things go on with me its a mind thing and learning how to control your thoughts. That's why it's important to know your higher self if you don't something else on a spiritual realm will take over and result most likely in suicide which is very sad.

If you can accept those demons are in your life and you get help for it, those demons will no longer have control.
You will live a life overcome with sudden saddness for no reason, anger or rage, sudden crying jags and you have no idea why. Everything is skewed to a degree.
When you finally get help it changes immediately.
You no longer view life the same way.
You feel for the first time in your life normal. Like what others feel like. and when it gets tough you see a therapist to work it out. You come to realize how precious life is. and you fight for it.

This is so heartbreaking and it hits so close to home for me because my daughter’s father took his own life 3 months ago and it has devastated all who knew and loved him. We had no idea that he was in such pain and since he and I were no longer together and remarried I didn’t see him everyday to even know that he was in such a deep dark place in his life. He just celebrated his 40th birthday a month before his passing and also celebrated the birth of his son who was 3 months at the time. My daughter is 11 years old so she is having a very difficult time with the loss of her father. This type of tragedy really does effect everyone in that person’s life and I hope that anyone who is going through deep depression or any other type of mental disorder can find the strength and courage or motivation to reach out to anyone for help. I have dealt with ongoing severe depression, anxiety and insomnia since I was 12 and I’m 46 years old now so I can relate and empathize entirely with the pain and suffering that depression causes. I was able to reach out to my family to help me get the help that I so desperately needed and I thank God every day for my life and for the chance to help others. My they rest in peace.

      - Just be happy.
      - You have no reason to be depressed
      - Why are you doing this to me? I'm just trying to enjoy my day and here you cone with your depression.
      - Go exercise and watch TV
      - You need to go to church.

I couldn't even watch the news last night I found out from a Facebook post and my mom. Couldn't believe it we couldn't watch the news coverage. Heart breaking I first learned about him on "So you think you can dance" back in 2013 or 2014. Twitch will go on to be a dance legend. His gorgeous wife Alison sending deepest condolences to her and their children. I have lost a couple of people in 2012 and 2019 to A similar situation and the loss is still memorable and still felt by many of us. Just one thing when someone says "Are you ok? How are you ask them how they're really doing privately". There's a lot of things happening behind the scenes we don't realize. Asking for help can change lives.

I feel like people who are able to hide their emotions on the inside and showing an happy face on the outside seem to be at risk because when people see them, they see the outside which is happy so they think everything is fine with the person. For me, I don't have this ability which is good because if I am not feeling good it will show on the outside that something is going on

The problem is that the suicidal spiral causes a person to not have a desire to reach out for services (at that time) no matter how accessible the services may be.
When a person is in that spiral, they also want to isolate and mostly won't reach out. The veil and distortion of suicidal thoughts warps sense of self and the ability to know how to reach out. That's one of the massive conundrums.
Too many people think that the suicide hotline being posted, and offers for help will help suicidal people, it generally doesn't. It's like putting a plateful of food in front of a person who's starving, but has their hands tied behind their back and a blindfold on. It's there, but they can't see a way to access it.
Suicide is ultimate self abandonment. It is when one can't sit with, hold space for, their pain. So they betray themselves by ending it. The distortion of the mind is that extreme that the myopic problem solving is one "solution".
It's a catch 22. A suicidal mind needs support and help, but a suicidal mind goes the route of isolation and ultimate separation from self and all humanity.
The potential solutions are much more complex and varied.
