Been 🥶🥶🥶 down here too but beautiful sunshine today!👍 My petite carrots are loving this weather. The rains drowned everything here Wednesday night into Thursday. Fingers crossed on my lettuces. 💕 Heavy heart for the terrible fires in California and fellow citizens battling winter in sheds in Appalachia.
Enjoying the sunshine on my patio! So are my plants! I put an extra layer of plastic over my 4-tier greenhouse frame and covered it with a 10ft round Planket. Never got under 34F! Very thankful!!!
Glad to see some of your plants made it through. Those high tunnels look like a great thing to have to help lengthen the growing season. We still have about 4 or so inches of snow on the ground up here near Gainesville. It's warmin up tho and the snow is melting and falling off the trees in big ole clumps. Come on warmer weather, I have a garden to clean up! lol Will be starting some of my seeds here in a couple weeks. Already have my onions going in some trays. Here's to a GREAT growing season for us all!
Hey Jill I feel good outside It ‘s 54 degrees and the sun feel good .. Out and about checking our cattle and animals.. Glad you’re getting ready for spring.. we are fixing to start cleaning out our vegetables beds .. We ready for some spring weather with more rain .. Glad you’ll are starting to feel better .. take care of yourselves Love you 🥰 Blessing 👩🌾
We are in Amarillo, TX and got 12 inches of snow last Thursday! Crazy how Texas has like 9 different climates haha. We also have a huge backyard garden and just started our channel, last week, for this season. Excited to follow yours! We are expecting single digit temps this weekend with a -20 windchill. Subbed!
I just built the Warden a 16x20 and got it sealed in time for the cold we just have her plants in it and after next week's cold from Canada we are going to try planting seeds.I put a small propane heater and kept it around 46 degrees during the night but rand it all day amd nigh yeaterday. This is our 1st year for using the green house and icstumbled on your You tube channel.I sent a link to the Warden so hopefully she'll watch😁
your herbs still look good, I wish I had a high tunnel, I am going to start seeds soon, if they don't grow I will buy my plants from the Amish. I am excited about growing more food this year. It is very cold here and they are talking about another system coming this weekend. Prayers go out to all California and those still without any help from Helena🙏 Maybe when Trump gets in he can help those who lost everything🙏
Oh my goodness…I’m not thinking of gardening just yet. I have to be warm to think like that…Lol! It’s so cold here in my area of Michigan. We had a snowfall, but nothing terrible. I’m wrapped up in blankets when I sit down in the home. I’ll live vicariously thru you dear Jill! ♥️
We still have a ton of snow, W. Van Alstyne, Grayson County. I'm loving it. The garden is sleeping. My greenhouse tomatoes died as expected. Parsley, kale and Spinach still striving as well as brussel sprouts outside. Made some immunity shots, Elderberry syrup and taking fire cider for a dreaded cold/cough i picked up in Mexico last week.
My kale looks great, the broccoli did not fair as well. My chickens will be happy. Cabbage looks okay. Time to pull and make kraut. All ready getting my peppers started. Tomatoes this week.
It still looks like a winter wonderland here in N Collin county. I'm hoping it will all melt on the dirt road leading to my house so I can get to church in the morning.
great update after the freeze! would love to see a review of your high tunnels after a few seasons using them, likes, dislikes, changes you would have done, etc. I am thinking about buying one from rimol but not sure on the options I should go with…
One mile south of Texoma we got eight inches of snow. My beds are still buried this afternoon but melting fast - should be able to see the damage tomorrow. 39 degrees. Need to get seeds started.
Collinsville - garden still under snow, cautiously anxious to see if any of the brassicas made it as they were under frost blankets. Seed starting now thru Feb!
My favorite Russet potatoes that I buy from Wegmans and a bag of sweet potatoes did not survive the 16 degree nightly temperature this past week in my garage here in Western NY . I wish I brought them into the house. Instead, I had to trash them. Hard freezes are well hard. I like to use my garage as cold storage but it only works well if temperatures are above freezing. Looks good ! Enjoy the cold temps !
I need to pull covers off and see if anything survived in my container garden. And there are a few things I need to pull up. I do have a couple of tomato plants and bell peppers moved into my house. I've got cherry tomatoes turning red on my plant.
We have a woodstove, but we haven’t put it in the house yet we thought about it and they would work fantastic however, we have two fireplaces and that seems to do the trick for us, but I would highly encourage getting one
@@ntxg thank you Ma'am. I was raised near Seymour Tx and boy howdy those north Texas winters can be rough! Yall stay warm! We will soon be at our farm near Jefferson TX and the Houston area in the rear view mirror!

He loves it and yes we enjoy dinner. It’s the perfect set up!
