My God you certainly don't do things by half!! Really enjoying the series, I could feel your apprehension when going out of your comfort zone in the last vid - we've all been there.....
I don't usually watch your garagey stuff, but I'm loving this series. Its like watching a man digging a bigger and bigger hole with no ladder to get out for me .I wouldn't have the balls ,I admire your pluck …Props. And I can't wait to see the end result.I,m positive it'll be all back together and running with no extra bits in the end .you sir are a proper Brit
If the burnt bronze and black with anodised parts turns out like Cameron niemela’s CR build you’ll be onto a winner chops!!! Be an absolute beauty.
Yes looks amazing doesn't it 👍
chops..you clearly the best motorbike vlogger on you tube..keep it up.
Chops and Millyard are the best vloggers on you tube and both have unique super powers for example chops gets stuck in with his hammer and chisel to conquer the cylinder heads of any engine that pops it's head up above the trench then shines the Bat sign into the night sky and along comes the mighty Allen on the millyard flyer complete with dustbin to file away all the debris left by chops Wow what a fantastic program that could be put me down for a BBC licence.
Nice one chops.. I have some of those special tools 🛠️🪓⛏️🗡️
Cerakote is sprayed and baked in a oven and anyone can do it,its very easy ,only down side the cerakote is exspensive!! I think it originally came about as it was used on guns .. I need to get my casings done as the burnt bronze powder coating is starting to where off after 2 and half years on my old red pig xr650r ..
The burnt bronze looks like factory HRC. Really nice.
Yes it does your right 👍
Duracoat works just as well and is about half the cost, at least here in the USA. Doing it yourself is easy, Ive got many videos on it. I Duracoated guns for years. Its addicting once you start getting into it.
Loving this series!
Still following and thumbs up'ing here Mr Chops
Blimey what started out to re paint the engine has evolved into a rebuild!
Massive learning curve for me watching , fantastic educational videos
Looking forward to next "bout". !
Best regards Shaun
Yes tell me about it! No going back now!
admire the determination..
keep it up sir..👍
Great vid as usual Chops! If you guys like this one, take a look at Bike Worlds Desmosedici RR strip and rebuild project in a 12 part series...
Loving this as a hyper 1100 evo owner. Re your final gearing, my preference is 15/42 for a properly mapped & dialled in cams motor, eg 30mph in 4th gear is fine, pulls cleanly without snatching. 14 t is not ideal on the front. Just my prefs. Do get the cams diain though as it makes a huge difference to low speed manners. Cheers Chris
Don't bother sending your parts to Factory Products Chops, I was painting my garden fence the other day and I'd be happy to creosote any parts you have for free. I typically apply it with a three inch paddle brush, the finish is great, well, so Mrs Fannybatter nextdoor said it was.
The smells not for everybody, but I quite like it.
Haha 😂😂👍
Keep the Ducati Magic coming Chops!!!! Best motorcycle project series on RUclips 🎥🎬👍🏻 I check everyday for an update 😎
Thanks matey 👍👍
That Oberon clutch reducer, makes it unbelievably light👍
That will look sick mate 👌Can't wait to see the next episodes, and I even watched the 3 min long ad at the end to give you back a few hundredths of pennys🤣🤣
Haha your a star thanks 😁👍
On episode 1 you said you didn’t really know what you were doing...looks like you do...excellent series, really enjoying it 😃
Haha well I've had to do some quick learning! 😂
Ciao Chops thanks for all the Vids, keeping us amused. In Northern Italy, just starting to be able to get out officially. Reading in Performance Mag, May artical that Cerakote is completely resistant to fluid leaks, oil petrol etc. Might be handy on the Ducati! All the best Pete (990 Superduke).
Yes good point I forgot about its heat resistance and other benefits
Those parts look amazing, the bike will look and hopefully run better than the day it left the factory! Great series keep up the good work.
Thanks Jom
Chops. Another great video. Love the engine casings, great finish. Toss your chippies tools, don't need them
around a classic Ducati engine. TLC all the way.
Wow! Absolutely looks the business Chops! Greetings from Holland! 👍🏻
Chops this series is brilliant, really shows what a man in a garage can do with time and tools! That burnt bronze is amazing. Looks like the bronze on the gold Big Bang R1 but that little bit darker. Can't wait to see this finished!
That special tool that releases the pulley nut is called a castle socket ( looks like the chess piece ), most people fabricate it from an old socket 😉.
Think you should have sent the rear sprocket carrier of to be seracoated burnt bronze too or at least match the sprocket colour.
You need to get a wiggle on if you're going to ride before summer ends 😉.
Would you do a price total at the end so some of us poor mortals have an idea how big a bank to rob if we want the same work please.
Keep smiling Chops & stay safe bud 🤟👍
Yes of course it is, thanks for the reminder 👍
Wow looking awesome Chops.. these vids are great mate ;)
Just finished bing watching all 9 episodes over 2 days. Loving this series and looking forward to the end result. Will now pay homage by purchasing some LCR merch 👍🏻
Haha thanks Clive! New EP coming soon!
Checking every day for these coming in, great series.
Amazing project. Respect. Nice to see how a Hypermotard is build.
LCR goes BLING. Interesting video it's going to look amazing 👍
Those parts looks great!
Daniel at DR Bikes is a top guy. Andy one need parts I would recommend him.
Those parts look gorgeous. That bike is going to look beautiful, well done Chopsey👍
Looks good. For parts that don’t have anything rubbing or wearing on them, Cerakote is a good finish.
I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like. I know for a fact that this bike is going to look AWESOME!
Great job Chops 🙂👍
Great series this, you're doing admirably doing all this by yourself at home in your garage, the bike will look superb when its finished. 👍👍🇬🇧
Looks gorgeous. Tried to find a company in Japan to do it, but no luck so far...
Haha, I love the chisel !! 😁😁
This is going to look epic and should be a real hoot to ride with the extra pep... keep up the great work Chops 👍
I was looking forward seen you using that chisel 😀 Those parts looks great! chops i love it
Ah we love it. Saturday morning would not be the same without some LCR. nice to see you have more tools, and you took the plug out this time. Cerakote looks fantastic! 🏍🏍🏍🏍
Thank you sir 👍
Great job Chops,looking marvelous,cheers🍻👍
Nice , a glass of wine after work and a new episode of chops bike build 😀👍
The coated parts look fanbloddytastic
Ah now I do breakfast with LCR you do wine. Interesting..lol
The mad Leprechaun yup west coast time usa ✌️
Looking forward to the next episode. Brilliant series.
Brilliant chops allways a pleasure to watch your blogs thanks from Danny
Loving it chops, going to be stunning. Definitely turned into a more in depth refurb!!
You need a breaker bar for breaking torque on those stubborn nuts and bolts.. (Impact works as well, but I prefer doing it by hand, especially with ones requiring special tools)
Bling-tastic 'burn bronze', nice.
Imagine having to put those rockers back together? Eh no thanks!
Can't wait to see the beast.
Cerakote parts look amazing, enjoying the series.
Really enjoying the series... Looking forward to seeing the rebuild and how the bike turns out.
Love the colour of the coating. It’s gonna look the DB’s when complete.
Another great vid. Really looking forward to the next one & can't wait to see the end result. Hopefully you get all the bits back asap! As you say, I think it'll look stunning. It'd be a very worthy show bike when it's finished.
Loving the series chops, love anything Ducati, the ceracote stuff looks awesome.
Nice, loving the red
Great video chops
Bike is gonna look the nuts when it's finished
Can't wait to see it
👍👍👍
Great video looking forward to next one stay safe 🇬🇧👍🏻
Love your videos Chops however just a small correction, powder coating is applied electrostatically not magnetically. If it was magnetically applied you wouldn’t be able to powder coat aluminium.
Really enjoying these vids, when doing the finer details like removing the casting marks, you know its going to be epic 👍
Loving this 👍👍 good on yah for having a go . I am still unming and rahing about changing my handle bar risers on my monster 796 !! 😂😂
Do it! 😁
Firstly hats off to you for taking this on.
An already awesome bike is gonna look and ride even better due to your efforts.
The last bike I saw you fettling was your Blade.
If the Ducati gets at all close to how that beauty looked, it's going to look mint.
By the way, why don't you pick up another modern classic as a project and perhaps give your viewers the chance to win it or own it?
Just a thought, I would love that as I am without machine atm.
Anyway thanks for sharing more good stuff.
Another outstanding episode.......It’s going to look fantastic. It’s inspiring me to do something similar, looking for a Puch Maxi 👍
I'm off to Halfords to pick up a 4 piece hammer and rusty chisel kit cheers for the inspiration chops.
awesome series LCR. Best motorcycle RUclipsr i know of.
Thanks matey 👍
At last proper tools great nice to see good vlog again take care ride safe mate TTFN
Your tool scared the other head that much, it wanted to jump off the studs. On a serious note this project is going to draw a crowd, at the stops and people putting their windows down for a high 5, No bird finger for this dream. 😂😂💪👍
Haha thanks Dave 👍
I’m gonna be so intensely jealous when this bike is done.
Can’t wait to see it all going back together mate. It’s gonna look amazing!
Doing a great job Chops with the restoration on the Hypermotard going to look amazing once you start getting some of those bits bolted bk on 👍🏻
Loving all these vids thanks
have you got shares in Cerakote jesus count the time you say it ....bar that great series
Great stuff 👍
Ace update John, can't wait to see all the engine bits back! :-)
Thanks Pete! 👍
another great video chops👍
Looking great 🤙👊
Now for the Jig Saw part putting it back together
Yes that's the interesting bit Lyn! 👍
Loving it 👍🇦🇺
Burnt bronze beard to complete the look Chops? Keep up the good work. 👍
Great series, I’ve recently dabbled with an RSV Mille refresh. Any chance of a running total of spend to date including sponsored bits?
Chops it’s about to get tedious , great build
Powder coat is a plastic coating not a paint and it's applied using static electricity not magnetism. Plastic generally can't be powder coated because it will melt during the melting process of plastic powder coat but anything that can withstand sustained 400f Temps can be powder coated.
Yes you are correct, I was trying to say (very badly) the powder is positively charged and the item being coated earthed. Not magnetized
Going to look 👌👍
That thumbnail picture, looks like silence of the lamb chops🤣
👍
Looking forward to seeing how those bits turn out. Is cerocoating more susceptible to damage is a thinner coat than powder coat? Cheers
# cerakote - know nothing about it, but it looks highly impressive. Now going to google it...
# bathtub modern 2V chambers in the twin plug heads, interesting plug, or lack of, protrusion.
The plugs were just half way in 👍
Lol, the plastic coating is applied using a electric static charge, NOT magnetization otherwise you wouldn’t be able to plastic coat aluminum 😂👍
Amazing job Chops. Have you been recording a time laps of the entire project? Would be great to see that separate video once you're finished. Title full Ducati rebuild in 10 minutes. Would get some amount of views £££.
No I haven't but good idea for the rebuild perhaps 👍
Has one of the exhaust studs been helicoiled? The engine is going to look amazing when it's done!
I just sent my 1199's exhaust off to get Ceracoted in the same color. Hopefully it keeps the heat down and I don't have to deal with that horrible fiberglass wrap crap.
Man it looked so easy taking it piece by piece , I wouldn't dare do mine leave it to the pros lol
Hi Chops is there any update on how this build is coming along?? Thanks
Hello, " are we there yet "
Soon young man, soon 😁
Drbikes is a quality company... what sweeties did you get ? 😜😂
I got refreshers, they didn't last long 👌
Those coatings..... umph, if I were a Yank (or saddo Brit trying to be "down with the kids"); I'd be saying they look 'sick'. But I'm neither, so I'll just say they look amazing! Gonna be one sexy bint when finished.
Well done chop's 👌😎👍 hurry up 🤣🤣🤣
That Kreosote finish looks tops Chops! How much would the company normally charge for the selection you had done (assuming they gave you a spesh deal)? Loving the series (especially the bling!) - so here's to the next exciting installment. Have yersel' a lovely weekend 👍 😎
Yes I did get a deal, i had more bits than shown in the vid and should have been about £300 quid to give you an idea 👍
@@LambChopRides Many thanks for the info, John. I'm pleasantly surprised by the cost: especially considering the quality of the finish & it's advantages over powder coat. I'll definitely be taking advantage of those Midlands Wizards on my current project. Frankly, it'd be rude not to 😎
The parts look great 👍. Absolute class, love the color. I’m sure biggelaar wil get every last horse out of that engine. Looking forward to the next one! Are you turning into a bit of a Ducatisti yet?
I'm starting to appreciate them Ronnie 😁😁👍
Well done LC - I like your practical approach to rebuilds.
FactoryProducts webpage wont load for me at all, sadly - domain might have lapsed? I can't find contact details either??
Anyways I'm wondering if Ducati main engine cases could be Cerakoted for a 'keeper' project, any help appreciated.
Cheers and Stay Safe.
They are so busy atm they are not taking new orders. And yes you could absolutely get the main crank cases done too to finish it off! I would have done that if my skills were up to it
Hope you kept each shaft n cam together chop's if you did then my bad 🤪
Yes everything from each head kept together 👍
It might make your life a bit easier if you disconnect the big ends and lift the piston out instead, and fit them in the head with a piston ring compressor. Then all you need to do is do up the big ends, rather than the fiddly job of re-fitting the gudgeon pin with the piston part in the head and not much room to get to, that does obviously means the sump gasket needs replacing then.
Ok good tip will do some research matey 👍
@@LambChopRides It's the way we always done it with cars, just seem the easier logical way to me because of that. Good luck with it, looking forward to seeing what you decide 😎👍
There's no sump on this engine!
Excellent progress. Does the paint need to be stripped again before the coating is applied?
Yes, need full aqua blast to remove all the paint completely
How is the resoration progressing? Any new episode?
