There is so much wrong with this video. lol. First, wrong anthem. They played the east-german anthem instead of the west-german one, because this was the (united) german president Roman Herzog. Second, wrong year. This was not 1985. It was 1995. Third, how bad can you play an anthem? They played this normaly very beautiful anthem just lousy and without any spirit. Fourth, thanks for the upload. :).
I read that somewhere to but i diden´t think it was 1995? this is very strange and Germany too not East Germany. Btw thank you for your comment and the info i will change
Well... The description says that was a meeting with Fernando Henrique Cardoso. He was the president of Brazil from 1995 - 2002. So, the right year is probably 1995.
If you ask yourself, how can something like this happen that the wrong national anthem is played, usually an “affront”? This can happen at a village festival, but not during a state visit.
They weren’t really that communist in the first place. Mainly about peace and rebuilding after the war. But true, I wish they kept the East German anthem.

@@RSFSR-Anthems The commentator in the video said this was in 1995. I wouldnt have known that detail by myself. Cheers :)

Unfortunately the Brazilian armed forces tend to butcher every single music that exists.
@@RSFSR-Anthems o
I never thought I'd hear it playing after Reunification.
Yeah pretty cool
0:15 i like how the general still salutes to the wrong anthem
Still Germany
If Germany uses DDR anthem with 3rd stanza replaced with Einigkeit.
That would be the better candidate for Whole Germany
I'm Brazilian forget about the high notes behind the anthem and acidentally or not maybe we play the right version 😉
keep it coming man!
Of course, Thank you man!
How could’ve they mistaken the East Germany national anthem with the Germany 🇩🇪 national anthem
In this video Herzog is not meeting with Fernando Henrique Cardoso, but with the governor of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Antônio Britto.
Thanks for the correction
@@RSFSR-Anthems You're welcome.

Superior tune, even if you changed the words to be less communist, just bring back the tune

@@antonyd6649 I agree but there may be hardcore right-wingers who would disagree big time
@@mr.communist3906 deutschlandlied is also not about fascism but about german unification
@@jeanmatthews3899 i know. Why would a song from 1820s Germany have fascism in it?
@@mr.communist3906 because it was used as the anthem of the 3rd reich. it has nothing to do with fascism, but many people only remember it for that
Why????
Was it accidentally the wrong anthem or was it intentional on the part of Brazil?
Why would it be intentional? lol
I don't know but this is very cool
It happened also in South America when they played the Spanish republican anthem to francoist delegation :D
😂😂😂😂
