Big pieces like that we screw in ibolts and use a cordless warn winch to help pull them into the trailer. Sometimes we lat them on snow sleds to slid in easier too saves the back.
That is definitely a good option. I don’t mess with a lot of big rounds. I have access to a lot of smaller stuff but wanted to get this Oak to see how it went and test out the new splitters.
when LOADING TRAILERS without GATES around the trailer raising fence lockable ALWAYS LOAD LARGE PIECES firewood lying down therefore they do not move around on the trailer and all that is needed is rough and PRESSING STRONG TENSION STRIPS to hold everything in place NO TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS DUE TO UN SECURED LOAD
Hey Hardworking Hillbilly, I've got that same ax and Grizzly Peak Enterprises makes a great aluminum scabbard for it. Comes in and out of it real easy. Can be ordered off their website.
Is there a rev limiter on your saw. That big oak will give you a lot of barkless good firewood. You might look for a 084 stihl w/44" bar so you can cut your rounds from one side, Time is money. Husky makes big saws too, you don't have to buy new, decent used saws are out there. Before you put time and money in your trailer , look for a tandem trailer w/15" -16" wheels w/drop axels , 3/16" Diamond plate floor that is well supported. Much more dependable , but its your nickle & time.
Thanks. Not sure on the rev limiter, I do need to adjust my carb though. Just put the 79cc top end on it from a 64cc not too long ago. I am in the market for another big used saw with a 36” bar. This trailer is just a small utility trailer that I use to move my mower etc. I have all new treated boards fitted to the deck but haven’t taken the old ones out yet or fastened them down. I have a 30’ Big Tex Gooseneck trailer and a 6x12 dump trailer but had that rented out when I picked this tree up. I also have a few new additions to my fleet that will be featured in upcoming videos over the next week or two. Need to get editing! Hope you enjoy the channel I keep trying to improve.
I’ll bet you were plenty sore after taking that backwards flip from the trailer. I have done the same thing with a hookaroon but luckily my falll wasn’t nearly as dramatic and I stayed on the trailer.
I’d never cut all the way through log, invariably you will get the saw in the dirt and ruin chain/blade. Cut part way, length of the log, then roll the log and Finnish cuts. It would be easier to take splittter and split blocks than trying to handle those big rounds.
That’s usually what I would do, but this log was way to heavy to roll by hand and I didn’t have m tractor there. Looking back I probably should have noodles them down a bit.
If you want to save time bucking, I learned a lot watching Buckin Billy Ray. He is horrible at explaining what, why and how he does what he does. But if you see what he does and apply it, you will almost never need to use wedges again. Non stop cutting.
You notice that Nate takes after Rachael? Rachael’s first question wasn’t, “Did you get hurt?” but “Did you get it on video?” However, to her credit, that was her second question lol. Kind of reminds of my lady who, when a round popped of and hit me right in the gonads, began laughing 😳
It is definitely a lot of work. I always have a few new moves that I may break out at any time 😂. How do you like that carbide chain? Definitely has its uses.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors Hey Heath…..I haven’t been able to run it yet. We moved back to Va and into a new townhouse, till we find out forever home. Thus, no trees to cut yet. We hope to find our place out in the boonies before long.
Pee Wee Herman when he hit the car with a bicycle, I meant to do that. Lol
Absolutely lol.
Now that was some work for sure.
Thanks James, the big rounds like that definitely make you earn it.
WOW, you had to feel that tumble in a day or two ! nice video Cheers !
Thanks. I actually was good. I managed to land on my feet somehow.
Hey. Gosh, brother. Sure is a huge and heavy log. Great job! Chip
Yes it was. Glad I don’t have to mess with that big of stuff too often. Thanks Chip!
Lots of real nice wood you scored Heath! I give your acrobatic flip a 🔟😂👍👍
Thanks 😂
That’s a dang good saw , I like it 😊
Love it, even more now that I had it posted by Dyno Joe!
It is nice to see your son to help dad in the
Thanks, love it when they come out and help!
I think it is nice to to help dad with the big logos
Definitely needed help with these, they were heavy!
Boy needs more wood yard time ❤
For sure! Never enough time.
10 point landing! Nice save.
Thanks!
That looks like it would have made a nice limber log!
Definitely would have but they didn’t want a tractor in there. It was heavy!!
Morning buddy hope you have a good day and be safe and be kind out there.
Thanks you too.

Like your vid.... a really hard working man is nice to see😉 greetings from Holland.
Thank you. I definitely stay busy!
Mate you need to get that loose bed on that trailer sorted otherwise you will be having another accident
Thanks, it’s all been replaced now!
Great recovery! Lol!
Thanks. I got lucky and caught the rail on my way over and somehow landed on my feet.

I should have strapped them down. I plan on adding tie down rings to this trailer.

Thanks. I haven’t tried the one I picked up yet but I’ll keep that in mind.
Those butt end rounds had to weigh 250-300 pounds. Nice that they were round enough for you to roll them.
They were heavy! I’m going to try to weigh one to see.

Surprisingly, I landed on my feet and was basically unharmed!

Where was Rachel if she would have been there she would have caught you lol
She would have! Nate sure didn’t want to save me lol.
Good thing there wasn’t a cliff edge
No doubt. My son definitely wasn’t going to save me 😂
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors lol glad you’re agile
Agile or lucky.
I give that fall a 5, only because I know what ur capable of. Your fall out of the uhaul was a 10 all day. Lol
No doubt 😂. Wish I had that tape.
Depending on the type of wood, that looks like it would’ve made some good lumber except for the lifting.
This was red oak. However where it was located they wouldn’t allow a tractor etc. so this was really the only way to get it out.
👍👍

You are right about his videos, he definitely knows his stuff. I watch them when I can. Appreciate the tip!
Oops is right
Yeah and my son just left me there to fend for myself lol.
landed on your feet, are you a cat?
Lol nope just got lucky here!
Hello hard-working man nice video you really cut that word up wood up look like you stay pretty busy text me back but it God bless your family
Thanks. Yes I do stay extremely busy but I enjoy it.

Oh yeah. It’s all about the video lol. Rachel would laugh too.
It's a shame you did not let Nate buck a few.
I’m a bit over protective when it comes to my kids running the saw. Probably should get him going on some smaller stuff though.
That's what you call eating dirt.
Yes sir and my son surely wasn’t going to save me!
He didn't really have time to do so, happened too fast.
Yes it did, I just laughed at his reaction when I watched it back.
Nice job Heath (Twinkle Toes) 😏🤣 hey you got a “10”………That big wood takes a lot of work ! What will be your New move on the next video?? 😏🪵🪵🪵👍👏
