That is not the worst commentary in boxing OK people are never happy. They people do their job that does Sergio Mora is. He’s the next boxer. He knows what he’s doing. Occasionally, this happens for one fight. But every single fight on the card. He was blatantly biased in favor of Jose Valenzuela. He literally cried when he won. There is no place for such extreme bias in commentary. He was extremely biased against Miller and Crawford. In for Anderson who was getting destroyed.

Madrimov was not even close to winning the fight. The "champion" had no clue what to do first 7 rounds. He finally started throwing some good punches in the rounds thereafter but did not bring enough to the table.

The commentators can call fights with bias and expect his opinion to be taken seriously. This man spend most of the fight call Crawfords opponent the aggressor while Crawford was landing combos. One punch doesn’t call for the word dominating. So I’m lost about what he saw

A lot of times the networks tell the commentators to favor a certain fighter
He and Mannix were either on orders to call it for Madrimov - which, given how things went, might have been because the Saudis didnt want a Muslim fighter to lose to a Christian in the main event - or Mora and Mannix put a LOT of money on Madrimov. Those are the only two explanations I can think of.

Ortiz would straight up bury him - >especially< after Madrimov talked trash about him after sparring. Fundora would rinse him. I think him vs Tszyu would be entertaining, but I think there's basically no chance Madrimov wins - he doesnt have enough power to hold Tszyu off, and Tim would just walk him down like the ogre that he is. Tim doesnt have any power at all, so it would be a decision outcome, but I like Tszyu in that simply bc of his aggression and fearlessness.

Everyone thinks Bud had issues, he didn’t. It was a style clash with two counter-punchers who were waiting each other out. Madrimov was posturing aggressively but not throwing and Bud answered everything he landed. This means Bud did what he wanted and he could’ve made it easy and boring by fighting at range with his reach advantage. Bud just wanted that KO until the end.

Rounds where Bud was rocking him, too. More and Mannix gave Madrimov the eighth, where Bud absolutely toyed with him, and staggered Madrimov twice - they never commented on Bud landing, or Madrimov having to clinch multiple times to stay up. I've never seen anything like it.

I didn't like DAZN commentators especially Mora. I was glad to hear Shawn Porter in the final fight. I didn't like any of the DAZN production. It was too long and seemed generic.

That was, without a doubt, the worst commentary I've ever heard by someone. Mora embarrassed himself all night - and it got worse after the fight. He started out with an obvious bias, and when it became clear that Bud was leading Madrimov around by the nose, Mora got bitter, and tilted. Mannix was even angrier at the outcome, but Mora just would not shut up.

HORRIBLE commentating on the main event. It makes me miss guys like Max Kellerman, Jim Lampley, Roy Jones, Andre Ward and the likes of those calling fights. Jealousy and envy particularly with ex fighters turned commentators is at a high. Most can’t comprehend or fathom what Bud has been accomplishing and their insecurities are loud as hell. To say Madrimov was doing his thing and then follow up by saying Bud was having problems IS WILD and IRRESPONSIBLE COMMENTATING particularly when MADRIMOVS face was dismantled and he was more prone to holding onto Bud like he wanted the last dance at prom night.

Why do these dudes act like Bud doesn't fight every fight in Southpaw stance. He's just a right handed boxer who fights Southpaw. He almost never fights orthodox. He can do it but its not his most comfortable stance.
He trains 50/50 southpaw vs orthodox. He decides which stance to deploy in the fight based on the opponent. In this fight it neutralized Madrimov's jab that he uses to setup his offense. It was the right choice. Sergio is a goofball.
For the first, like, 3/4s of his career, Bud started in orthodox then switched to southpaw late in the 2nd or 3rd, after his opponent settled into their fight - then he would switch back to orthodox to finish fights.
Spence was one of the few fights that he just plain old fought orthodox - which he did bc they knew Spence simply could not fight lefties, and virtually never had. Spence's team, I've long suspected, thought they would win a bunch of rounds against Bud in orthodox early, and be up when he switched - but Bomac and Bud sorted that out.
Bud is a true switch hitter, one of the few, he can fight from either side, but he's also smart - by not switching against Madrimov, he was daring Madrimov to try and play his switch tricks, something Madrimov figured out was not going to work in the second round, which was about the last time Israil tried to jab meaningfully.
But I totally agree with you that Shawn acting like Bud should be swapping back and forth was nuts - like, we have a decade of high profile fights to watch, and that's not something Bud has ever done.

He really has become more of a straight southpaw who can switch if he wants to --and he still does sometimes, once he has his opponent hurt so he can use his right hand as his power hand. What's the last fight that he fought mainly orthodox? I can't even remember.
