    Important Information on Auto-Mounting Drives:
The application I demonstrated was gnome-disks-utilities
If you're in KDE you can search for 'Removable Devices'. Just open that up and check the 'Enable automatic mounting...' option.
I still recommend you check out the fstab tutorial before using these methods long-term.

11:50 Note if you are dualbooting Windows: you SHOULD set "Hardware clock in local time zone" because that's how Windows likes it and AFAIK there is no option in Windows to use UTC. If you leave this option unset, then when you boot back into Windows your system time will likely be messed up. Many programs and protocols DO NOT like it when your system time is out of sync.

@@MakCFeeDlMasterFire, when I said Ubuntu, I was meaning any kind of Ubuntu based OS. It's best choice to transfer from Windows because Ubuntu based OS more stable, supports more hardware, has less bugs, has more software.
I've seen many laud in RUclips about Manjaro, so I decided to choose it as OS for work after many years of Ubuntu and a few years of Ubuntu Mate. After installing of Manjaro Gnome I faced troubles with updating (that was solved after fixing update was released), not working touchpad (was solved after I spent many time of search how to solve this problem) and absent of working version of Viber (couldn't solve).

Fedora gnome/xfce- can't detect the drive.
Ubuntu gnome- sometimes can't detect the drive or its saying something that it can't detect my display or something.
Linux Mint Cinnamon/Mate/Xfce(which I have in my desktop)- always get stuck when when finalizing the setup.
Kali Linux - it keeps throwing me to my bios setup everytime I click boot from flashdrive.
Majaro kde/xfce is the only Linux distro that I can install in my laptop after trying the distro above without having a problem, I kinda relectant to use it but I have no choice so I'll be watching the To Do here🤦‍♂️

    • @TechHut

What exactly are you trying to do? This is a sketchy practise because it may make some files and directories only accessable via root. If you looking to copy, move, or delete anything this is easy in the terminal.

What's about fixing basic stuff after installing Manjaro? Sorry, it's not against you, but I'm comming from MS Win and wanted to switch to Linux but it's a mess. Why hibernation didn't work with BTRFS and encryption? This problem is since January present. It's very disappointing.

    • @richardcroft9475
      @richardcroft9475 3 года назад +1

I am not a professional at using GNU+Linux, but I suggest you contact the BTRFS (BTR File-System) developers, and the Manjaro developers (in the case of the Encryption thing). And also: Why are you using the file-system-called-“BTRFS”? Is there a particular reason why you went with that one instead-of XFS or ZFS or EXT4?
Also: For being-able-to-use the “Hibernate” feature of your computer, make sure that your “swap” partition (if you are using that instead-of a “ “swap” file”) is at-least DOUBLE the amount of your R.A.M. (ie. Random-Access Memory). Otherwise you’ll have a-heck-of-a-hard-time getting the “Hibernate” function/feature to work.
Also: as a final thing, don’t confuse “Sleep” with “Hibernate” with “Suspend” with “Standby”. They are different things.
Usually/Last I heard, the words “Suspend” & “Standby” were used interchangeably in Windows to describe the same thing but in GNU+Linux things could be different. (I’ll update this comment/post if I find-out that in GNU+Linux “Suspend” & “Standby” are the same thing).
