I checked some of these statistics and they are all wrong.
He's only had 2 or 3 Flops, He should be considered one of the greatest action stars of all time if not the Greatest 🤯🐐
Well said, @ronaldwilliams9635! He’s also one of the greatest names in Hollywood-and in the entire film industry, for that matter.
This is not entirely true. He didn't get paid LESS for rocky 3 & 4 than for Rocky.
I don't believe that either but I will say it does happen, sometimes they take pay cuts so other actors or other people get more money, it is not common but it does happen
@@billliberati9840 yes but I guarantee he made a cut of the profits on top of his base salary
You are right @shaz2761 and thank you for pointing this out! He had backend deals which made him millions on the long term. However, my video lists his acting paychecks only. Perhaps I will clarify this in future videos to avoid confusion.
@@BoxOfficeJoe Fair dos. 😎
It called backend money. He gets it from rental sales and TV.

Wow @gaiden4567 that's quite a list! I'll definitely do most of them 😉
I guarantee he got more than 75,000 for Rocky 3
He was the writer and producer of all the Rockys and Rambo movies. He owns the rights and royalties to the movies, so his paycheck to himself upfront are small but everything is made on the backend.
Well said.
You forgot his movie “ The Party at Kitty and Studs” $200.
True @SlumberSluggASMR! I left this one out, and the number you quoted is CORRECT!
Most of these just show what he was paid up front, but he contracted for a percentage of box office receipts, so he actually made far more.
That's correct, @marktwain2053! This was my first video on the channel, so I was still figuring out how to present the figures and chose to exclude backend deals in most cases, which made the video slightly confusing. However, I learned from this and included all backend deals in my later videos. I'm also considering remaking this one...
👍👍👍 , Thanks man and me the new subscriber .
Awesome thank you!
I have to say, he knows how to get paid for movies, many of which flopped at the box office
Agreed! Flops or not, the man knows how to secure the bag!
that's the total of how much he spent after he got paid doing the movie.😊
Dude was heading into obscurity before he brought back rocky and Rambo
except for Rocky, where his payday would be equivalent to about $15 million in 2024 adjusted for inflation, Sly got seriously ripped off in the 70s in terms of box office returns. Only 75k for Rocky II and 120k for Rocky III? That can't be true. Anyway he more than made up for it the rest of his career, where he was vastly overpaid for formulaic and forgettable films. Sometimes his salary accounted for half the movie's budget. The lone exception is Cop Land, which he made to prove that he was a serious actor. He never was, he could just play Sly.
Great observation! Some of the numbers are truly quite unbelievable, especially in the case of Rocky II and III. I didn't believe them at first either, but I checked and double-checked, and-according to various sources-this was actually the case. My video lists only his upfront salary, but he certainly had backend deals as well. Even if he was ripped off, no need to pity him; as you said, he more than made up for them later on. As for how serious an actor he is: well, he is a true actor compared to Schwarzenegger. 😉
@@BoxOfficeJoe the 80s produced 3 of the best-paid worst actors in history: Arnold S., Sly and Bruce Willis. Nice to be very well-paid just for being yourself.
@@MrEab2010 and now we have the rock, jason statham. In each decade we always have some actor just playing themselves😂😂😂
@BoxOfficeJoe how dare you insult my good friend Arnold like that. Take it back! 😢
Great video by the way 😁
My "insult" is a bit out of context @@richardrooney2189 . I thoroughly enjoy Arnold's work and I believe he has an iconic screen presence. But I agree with @MrEab2010 and @quanganhnguyen1837. There are actors who can play only a certain kind of character.
12 million in 1985 is like 100 today sheesh
He's making around 10-15mil per film in the mid 90s then all of a sudden makes only 60k for Copland 😂. Halt stop the BS!
Great observation @cmonman7664, and thank you for bringing this up! However, there is no mistake there. Stallone took that drastic pay cut as a bold strategic choice to distance himself from being typecast in action-heavy blockbuster roles. He wanted to prove his range as an actor and transition into more serious, character-driven roles. He even gained 40 pounds for the part to show his commitment and impress critics.
You miss out 2 others stallion and banners.
You are right @frankgallacher4799, I left Stallion out! He earned 200 USD for starring in that film. I'm not familiar with "banners" though...
He shouldn't of been paid for Get Carter, he almost destroyed a classic British movie 🎥🍿
I see them as two almost completely different movies, @sidneygreen9120. The original is a gritty crime film focusing on mood. The Stallone version is less serious but more action-packed, with a Hollywood vibe and ramped-up spectacle. However, I have to admit that I prefer the original-I usually do.
@@BoxOfficeJoe good point ☝️
This didn't list the porn movies he was in
120k for rocky 3. Ok, I waste 1min of my life ..
@conilmionomecripto thank you for pointing this out. His paycheck for acting in Rocky III was really just 120k. However, he also produced and directed the movie and had some backend deals which ultimately brought millions for him on the long term - those numbers are not official however. My video simply lists his acting paychecks. I will clarify this detail in future videos.
None of these numbers ate accurate, or even add up.
Meanwhile Brie Larson got 5 Mio to play a plank of wood.
Meanwhile Stallone wrote Rocky!!!!!! Real actors don’t do it for money, they want to bring a great character alive!!!!!!
Some of these dont add up . I didn't realise how much he got paid for some of the flops , and some didn't even make 1m.
@oddsandwindsocks5905 In many cases, actors get paid by the studio before the release of the movie. So if it's a flop, its a loss for the studio but not for the actor.
How to did it take 54 million to make rocky 5...it's was them walking around philly lol
Working in the finance industry, I would say that this is just about right
People forget the guy was also the Director and Producer. Therefore the results were always going to be make break
Unless you worked for someone else as well
Info is wrong here!!
Please clarify @AngeloR674, so I can double check.
How does he get paid more than the movie makes at the box office??🤔🤷♂️
@MLY73 great question! He gets paid by the studio even before the money flows in.
How much did he get paid to be a junker in guardians of the galaxy?
He earned $10 million for his role as Stakar Ogord in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," but reportedly, he ended up giving his salary back out of gratitude because he was excited to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He stated that his real paycheck was actually being involved in "the next generation's mythology."
🎬👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🗽🇮🇹😜
Me
For a Guy that looks like a dummy he is being doing good and the ones that buy the product
he had so many bad movies he should never have made it to stardom
Nonsense
Money says nothing,if you dont have God Jesus in your life than the rest means nothing, everything on this world is temperary
