I can’t believe the change in that lantern. Your vision paid off, big time. It’s beautiful. Sonnet is a great mentor. I think the two of you will be life long friends and creative business supporters.
The lantern did pay off! Nothing is ever too far gone and it’s good for me to remember that! Sonnet will totally be a lifelong friend and I’m thankful to learn anything I can from her! ❤️
@@CreateYourOwnCozy if you ever come up to Wisconsin, let me know. I am like 4 hours from Sonnet's town but would love to drive up and meet you both. -Dayna
Love that y'all hooked up. The finish on the shelf turned out really cool! But I think my favorite was the chair. The color and style was a true compliment. ❤
Loved all of the projects! My favorite was the bird cage. I wanted to let you know that yes SPMP is FDA bio certified food safe, however; once you seal it with oil wax it is no longer food safe. If you use the SPMP All natural Hemp oil to seal it then it will still be considered food safe. Also make sure when using oil waxes you lay the oil rags out on a concrete driveway to dry out completely or store in a metal trash can or container with a metal lid, this is because oil wax rags can spontaneously combust and ignite and catch fire. Henry is absolutely adorable! So glad we met at creative con! Love your channel! Rachel
Thank you so much for the info! I thought the oil wax made it food safe but stand corrected! I will have to get me some of the hemp oil now! Thanks for stopping by and it was nice meeting you as well!
🤣. I second guessed myself but if we each didn’t find 5 items then we needed to find another thrift store. Honestly I think we were both ready for lunch!!
I think the shelf is amazing - I love it. The egg holder is cute. The lantern is awesome - I love the colors. This is my fav. The cloche and the chair are pretty. Great video!
I loved the chair and it was Henry approved. But I agree with you on the lantern. It had such a long way to go and you stuck with it. A life lesson for me. Thank you.🥰
Thanks for working with milk paint. The 1st time I used it I sealed the candle sticks first. I thought all the crackling was great until it all crackled off. Washed it off, painted the base then reapplied. Turned out great. I just think it takes practice. Loved the lantern!
Very impressed with the lantern, I can't stand glitter. I would have walked away, but it turned out beautiful. Been watching you for a month or so and love all your flips. I have a very close friend moving to your area and I know I will be visiting your booth in the near future. He will need some decor!!! I can't wait, I'm about an hour and 45 minutes away. Northwest GA! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoyed watching your flips for the first time. My husband and I own an Antique shop, Victorian Rose in Bouckville, NY and always love getting new ideas for flips. Good luck with you booth and flips! PS: your dog is sweet😀
Hi there I've been watching your videos from the beginning when you 1st started and I will say that your tutorials have gotten better and better on the way you explain the products that you use and how to use them in your Projects have been turning out super awesome you go girl!
Awe, thank you! I appreciate you sticking with me through my learning process! 😜. I cringe just thinking about going back and watching some of those first videos…but you have to start somewhere!!
With the chair, Heather.... I honestly thought, when you said that you weren't going to use any glaze, dark wax, etc. on it that all of the detail would be loss. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was not and it turned out stunning 😍 We all are used to using the chalk/clay based paints that are very thick and with them being thick, they tend to fill in the details some. I have heard that the Cottage Colors' paint is a bit thinner than Chalk and clay based paints so I am thinking that is why the detail on your chair still stood out very well after being painted, even though you didn't use a glaze or wax or anything. Absolutely beautiful ❣️
It is a little thinner paint than I am used to so I think that helped bring out the detail. And I hate to admit this, but I think the sheen (not as matte as I’m used to) helped bring out the detail too!
The chair was my favorite. I love the color. It's not just a plain gray but, as you said, it has a lavender undertone. However, as always, Henry was my favorite part of the video. He's so cute and I just love dogs. I have 4 of my own. 🥰
That chair color really did impress me! Henry is sticking around and since I’ve been gone so much he’s closer than ever to me! (At my ankles full time)
Coming from Sonnet, although I have watched you before. These all turned out great. Glad you stuck with getting the glitter off and making the lantern nice again, I really like the cheese board.
I love love love the lantern it turned out gorgeous it had a lot of problems but you stuck in there and did it got it done keep up the good work I like the chair also that looked really good
Even though it was a pain for you removing that glitter from lantern it was my absolute favorite n the egg dish was 2nd. Chair also turned out beautifully. Have a wonderful weekend. TFS
*Came over from Sonnet's Channel...my favorite was the LANTERN...SWOONING❣️😱🙉🤣💕🤍🤎 Way to stick with it...even with the residual RED GLITTER EVERYWHERE AD INFINITUM‼️😢💔🙉❤️ Liked the egg tray better brown...but that's just me...I would have just added a chicken 🐓🐥🐔or an🐣egg🥚transfer or 2 on the top and called it good.😊 New subscriber, Heather...I named my daughter Heather. In case you don't know, your name means "beautiful flower" - and that dovetails nicely with Sonnet's Garden Blooms, don't you think so?😊💐🌸🌿🌺🍃*
I love that you noticed that my name meaning went perfect with Sonnet’s Garden Blooms! 😍 It’s meant I be! My normal self probably would have just left the egg thing alone or just added white wax to it too! So thankful for that you subscribed and so glad to have you here!! ❤️
Love the shelf and lantern. I think the chair will sell great I would have loved a little white white wax on top as well and chippy but not everyone likes that so they will be wrapped to find this beautiful chair.
I tried white wax on a sample piece and was super tempted to add it to the chair. Makes it more feminine though and thought I would try to sell the way it is first!
Love your channel! The chair was lovely and the shelf was too. I just subscribed. Sonnet got kind of rough with us about watching you. Just kidding! Anxious to see your booth.
Hello Georgia friend, I love shopping around at antique shops like yours & the ones that always catches my eyes first is the ones with different color pop thats easy to see when walking by even the ones with different colors still in neutral put different textures. We all weird & beautiful I'm looking forward to seeing you step out of your comfort zone and trying piece thats not your style everyone is different and I think you'll extra fun& also do well in your business 😊. Just my opinion. Have you seen Cranberry Cottage she has a resale booth also and is also new on you tube her channel has blown up in no time and I believe you'd enjoy her channel she amazing at making something out of very interesting & inexpensive things. Looking forward to seeing everything you have up your creative sleeve.
I like how they all turned out, Heather. I will admit that I was sad to see the original look of the shelf going away, but you pulled it off beautifully! I really couldn't see the delicate cracking on it until you added the dark wax. Love it. I think for me personally, I'd have to either darken that chair a little or lighten it with white wax. The finish is very nice but it makes the chair a little too new looking for MY tastes. I hope all these things sell well for you. Glad you and Sonnet hit it off. I love watching both your channels.
I really did love the original look of the shelf too but having “sisters” on a shelf was kind of weird. The chair is very new looking for my taste too but it grows on me every time I walk by. I did a test with white wax and this color and it is beautiful but very feminine looking. Will try to sell as is first and can always add some age later!
All your makeovers turned out great! My favorite is the shelf---crackle-chippy-French---what else could be better? I love Sonnet's channel and her style; so glad you were able to meet her in Jax.
Here in the UK we can buy a similar built in wax paint called Frenchic. I used to like working with chalk paint and still do sometimes but the Frenchic type is super durable. I’ve just found you and will be binge watching your channel today. Your puppy is adorable ❤️💕😘
Thank you so much for the encouragement! I just love Sonnet and had such a great time getting to know her! My video this week is some more Sweet Pickens milk paint because it’s so fun!

Too many favorites. I love the chair. It is gorgeous. The lantern is wonderful. And I really like the cheese tray cloche.
Thank you! It was a fun video to do and hanging out with Sonnet was pretty great too!

Oh Henry, you are so cute! Really enjoyed seeing Henry take care of you. Love the shelf and transfer! Donna xoxo

Love the way the lantern turned out! You were a brave woman to tackle that glitter!!
Brave…or not very smart! 🤣

I really like the chair! I think all the beautiful design detail already on it shows even without distressing it. It is a really pretty color.

Love the look of the paint on the backside of the little wooden egg holder. Also think I need one of those paint brushes in my arsenal.
I did too! It could make a good riser too! That paint brush did such a good “line” edge. I think it’s worth it!
