- "The smiles returning to their faces". A George Harrison classic.
Starting the second half of the legendary Abbey Road (1969), "Here Comes The Sun" brings an uplifting vibe as George tried to steer away from the turbulent Beatles' business affairs at the time. The song was originally written at Eric Clapton's house, then went through 13 takes of recording at EMI studios (now Abbey Road studios), with the final to feature in the official release.
"Here Comes The Sun" has almost everything that makes a great Beatles record - Ringo's iconic fills and variations following odd time signature changes throughout the song, Paul's melodic basslines, George Martin's orchestral composition, and George Harrison on vocals with his timeless acoustic riffs. John, unfortunately, was recovering at the time due to a car accident, hence missed the session.
Hope you will enjoy this and Happy Sunday!
