Raymond's life and story is so heartbreaking.I can't imagine how it feels being taken advantage of your blindness and injuries for the sake of some cruel pranks done by some heartless monsters.And above all,an urban legend is created about you where you are depicted as a monster out of a horror movie.He deserves our respect and sympathy for putting up with these without losing his kindness.He sure had the undying heart of a beauty in spite of some calling him a beast.

Poor Raymond. He didn’t choose to be that way. Once again, who was the real monster-those who treated him like one or him, just minding his own business? I bet he was a nice guy in real life. The fact that he took his walks at night in order to not come across people and frighten them is so sad.
Raymond Robinson was by all accounts a really nice person who was in a horrible accident as a child. He was taught that he looked horrible and couldn't show himself to people. Therefore he took his walks at night so people shouldn't have to see him, yet he had to put up with people screaming at him from cars and throwing things at him and making up ghost stories about him. By all accounts of the people who actually stopped and talked to him, he was the sweetest guy and was very self-conscious about his appearance.

If you’ve seen his picture, I might have gotten a little scared if I was all alone at night and came across him in the woods (then again, any man alone in the woods would terrify me at night) but I wouldn’t want to purposefully treat him like that. I wouldn’t be opposed to meeting him.

It’s honestly pretty sad about Raymond. He just wanted someone to talk to, he only came out at night due to others being scared of him. But from what I’ve heard from a couple people who’ve actually had someone or themselves encountered Charlie said that he was a nice man.
Already did and they took photos with him. He had people who knew his identity and they come visit him sometimes make sure he’s ok and has plenty of food and water, luckily that shows he wasn’t fully alone when there were people watching out for him

I grew up in that area of PA. My dad knew Ray. He knew his nephew and they would give him rides home when they saw him. Very nice man my dad said.

It pains to think about how Raymond was probably lonely. Unless his relatives lived with him it seems like staying in all day, away from people would be a lonely life to lead. All because of one accident.
He lived a full life. My dad knew him. He’d make wallets from old tires and used to help his family cut the grass. His nephew just knew him as uncle Ray. He’d walk with one foot on the road and one off the road so that he knew where he was. My dad and his friends would take care of him if they saw him out.
He wasn’t lonely he had friends
And some people purposely choose to live their lives that way then wonder why they're so lonely. I'm those people. Wish I wasn't so nervous to interact with people and adults even though I am an adult myself. I guess it stems from untreated childhood trauma at the hands of adults. Good insight, I know.

My grandpa and his friends used to give Charlie No Face beer and cigarettes when they’d see him on one of his night walks.
Speaking of the overly realistic corpse pop-up, the inspiration for a popular antagonist, Skeletor, from the He-Man series is quite a story. Mark Taylor, the He-Man series's character designer, went to the Pike Fun House where there was a house of fear. A foul smell (that he described as a corpse's smell) hit his nose and a skeleton dropped down from the ceiling. "No question, I knew that was a real skeleton" and it was. I personally knew about this after watching the episode about He-Man on the Netflix show 'The Toys that Made Us'.

The poison candy on Halloween has been pretty thoroughly researched. In 2 separate cases a parent or family member gave a child poisoned candy planning to use the urban legend to get away with it.

After knowing of the true stories, some of the "terrifying" Urban Legends became less terrifying, especially in the case of Raymond who was by all accounts of those who actually went to talk to him seemed like a pretty cool guy.
Telling scary stories by a campfire, looks fun and scary at the same time.
2:41 um... there's actually a lot of cases where candy on halloween has been tampered with and razor blades. It is a real threat, and why every parent who participates in trick or treating, or even trunk or treat, should set aside the 10 minutes it takes to sort through your childs candy.
On halloween, if there is a doubt about a piece of candy, just toss it. My mom raised my sister and I like this, and it was a common thing growing up, especially in Florida. Its not a myth, and deserves proper awareness.

There's another story similar to the Jonathan Buck story, that took place in a prison in Pennsylvania. A man was imprisoned and sentenced to death for a crime he swore he didn't commit. On the day of his execution, he rubbed his hand on the floor and pressed against the wall, then declared that it was the handprint of an innocent man, which would forever remain as a testament to the evil deed that had been performed on that day. Prison officials repeatedly tried to clean off or paint over the handprint, but it would always reappear. Even when they tore down the wall and built a new one in its place, the handprint still reappeared. The prison has long since been abandoned, but the handprint still remains on the wall to this day, and is a popular tourist attraction.

I’m pretty sure the inspiration for UP was the one house with a couple balloons coming from it where a mall was built around it cause the home owner refused to move out.
I’m from Winchester , the lady in black became a hot topic around here. We are a smallish tight knit type community with a friendly country demeanor for the most part. Lots of people tried to help her and make sure she was ok. Like the videos said she wasn’t interested in talking to anyone or receiving any help. If I remember correctly the police ended up making contact and eventually getting her access to some public resources.

Ah, the Bunny Man! I remember this urban legend well. When I was in high school there was a large wooded area next to the track we used during gym class. I and quite a few of my classmates saw a man standing at the edge of the woods staring at us students. One of my friends told me he was the Bunny Man and to never go near those woods. Years after I graduated some you get girls at my church went to that same high school. I asked them jokingly if they saw the Bunny Man. They said yes in a serious tone. That creep was still there.
So did they found out who he was ,and why he was there and doing what he was doing?
The part about the candy is so untrue there have been a few recent stories about people putting blades and even injecting poison in Candy
I was poisoned with strychnine laced Halloween candy in 1995 in Aurora Colorado. It was very painful for about 12 hours. It was all over the news the next day.
And yes the strychnine was injected into the Halloween candy.
Okay so apparently Elmer J. McCurdy was on display in my hometown when he was finally identified. I know it happened when my parents were very young but I’m still baffled I’d never known that the story id heard before took place where I lived
The Bunny Man legend is still going strong here in Virginia. Every year especially around Halloween teenagers go to “Bunny Man Bridge” to see if they can catch him. Some friends and I tried back in high school but no luck. Some people I know claim they’ve seen him and it’s rumored a new guy took it upon himself to wear a bunny head and hang out over there to keep the legend alive. Who knows for sure…
Alligators in the sewers may not be real, but snakes popping up from the toilet sit certainly is a real thing
Raymond was my uncle (my grandmothers brother on my moms side). I was born in 1966 and lived in Michigan. Growing up, we would travel at least once a year to visit Uncle Ray and Aunt Velda (Uncle Raymond’s sister). They lived together in Koppel, PA as my Aunt Velda was his caretaker. I believe Velda was with Raymond when he had the accident. They lived up on a hill directly above B&W Tubing plant. Because I grew up with uncle Raymond I knew he was different but he was a very interesting and caring man and his disfigurement wasn’t as profound to me as the general public. He loved to walk at night and listen to his radio. I remember I was 11 and were visiting him the day Elvis Presley died. I miss him and wish I could have those times back with him and my Aunt Velda. Rest In Peace Uncle Ray & Aunt Velda. God Bless.

I'm still gobsmacked by the fact that even though he was blind and had one arm, he was able to make belts, wallets, and doormats for profit. He was more dextrous than most 'normal' people.

My great-uncle actually knew him, he was apparently a very nice guy and just wanted to have friends, he still has a photo of him somewhere.
Charlie no-face is a legend i'm familiar with. I'm not to far from the tunnel that he apparently haunts. Only a 10 minute drive.

Sounds like the plot of the movie THE LAST STARFIGHTER in 1984 where aliens created a video game to recruit human pilot in a war. After nearly 40 years I was shocked to learn a sequel was being planned even last year.

At my school there was a tunnel that went under the road that high school students used to use to get to the restaurant just across the street from the school. They had it locked so nobody could use it, but in my early school years we could see it from the playground and everyone said that there was an alligator living in it.

My mom used to check all the candy I got on Halloween for tampering in the 1990s. It was actually kind of common where I grew up.

My grandfather told me that he used to see Charlie-No Face in the bar that he frequented. He said people would buy him beer but he wouldn't drink them if they were already open. Being blind, apperently some people would put things in his drink to get some kind of sick laugh. Poor guy.
The faceless guy makes me remember about a manga I read, titled "Kanashimi no Bara Yashiki", by Eri Kumaki.
There's a few others that aren't on here but it might be on another list. There's also a cemetery gravestone in the state of Maine that has a boot on it that won't go away either don't know the story behind that but I remember seeing it when I was a kid.

I I have a picture of the green man with my dad and his buddy when they were like 15. They would go get him tobacco and liquor during the day. Other kids would have run up to the house and then turn around and run away s*** like that . My dad said he lived with his sister I guess

people putting razor blades in candy is a real problem, just this past Halloween my friends kid had to go to the hospital because he bit into a razor blade hidden inside a reeses cup
The problem is so common that they have machines built that check your Halloween candy for strychnine and razor blades.
Unfortunately, I can't fully agree with the statement the "rabbits aren't terrifying." A relative of mine is afraid of almost anything that looks like a rabbit.
My dad grew up in Fairfax Va and he told me the bunny man story on Halloween and we’d go to the tunnel when ever we visited. Then we’d go to Georgetown where the stairs are from the Exorcist

Also there is this story in Pennsylvania of a plane that went down. But the FAA said there WAS no crash and there was no wreckage. Then a few days later, another sound of a crashing plane happened, and another a while later and so on.

When I was about 3 years old I used to eat Milkbones (dog biscuits).

The Phantom Killer of Texarkana Moonlight Murders reportedly wore a cloth sack over his head with eye and mouth holes over his head (A lot like Jason Voorhees before he got the hockey mask) and there is a newspaper report about an alligator being pulled up out of a manhole cover in New York City one winter in the 1950's by a group of boys that and been shoveling snow.
