I saw your Truck with your RUclips channel on it yesterday at Rocky Mtn. Rec. Just bought my first kayak and caught my first fish in it yesterday as well! So much fun. Thank You for all the content you put on RUclips been watching as many videos as I can. You are awesome!
Great video! The rod threader would be real helpful for night fishing. I keep a set of wire cutters on the boat, but I'm going to upgrade to a heavier set like you have. I've cut hooks with mine but it takes a lot of grip force.
You can get some small bolt cutters instead of the cable cutters. Theyre the same size as your cable cutters and cost like $15 (from lowes) I've used them to cut all thread and they did great.
Im a bow hunter and decided to give fishing a shot this summer. I plan on getting the same setup from a previous video you’ve done this weekend . Any beginner tips for Colorado waters? I’ll also be fishing Lake MAC in Nebraska
I still like the original fish grips just like you. That little miniature one there I've heard too many horror stories I forget the name of it but it's it's a little tiny thing and a friend of mine who fishes with me on a regular basis has lost a couple of really good fish by using that tiny one. The biggest problem with the original fish grip is people don't rap that cord around the handle and if it hits the side of in my case at kayak that handle can pop just like a vise grip. And I love that knipex cutter that you talked about I'm going to have to try to find that thing $80 is a lot of money to spend for a cutter but if it has to be used just once it's worth it. Great video very informative!
Question..in some videos I've seen you with what almost looks like a key fob around your neck. I have seen other anglers with similar devices. What is that? I'm assuming it has to do with your boat, maybe?
Oh one day to late for this video got hooked in my finger yesterday had to go to the E.R didnt have the tool to cut the lure off so was holding it the whole time, till I got to the hospital.
Dang, sorry to hear that. I know That must've been something sitting in the ER waiting room with a stinky ol' bass hanging off your finger with all those covid people staring at you. Jk. Hope all is well now
@@Flukemaster I was using a Lee hand press until a year ago..Sat looking at a pile of 500 pieces of range brass..Said Nope! and bought a turret press lol
hello Gene, I am going to make purchase on TW do I need to click your tw affiliated link and then add my items to cart? please reply me so I do it right and ill show my support to you and your channel.
Cool thing
I carry knipex cutters in my boat when chucking big lures for pike and musky. They are great for making quick releases of fish and your hands.
Thanks for all your tips, knowledge, experience and videos! Im learning a lot from you sir ! 🙏🙏

That is awesome! Thank you Jared. If you see me on the lake don't hesitate to swing over and say hi.
Im an industrial electrician and I strictly buy Knipex tools, top notch they will cut through anything! Great video as always!!
Its crazy how I have been seeing you since I was 10 years old and now I am 18. Met you once at ICAST. Thanks for the awesome videos

Thanks for the knowledge of bass fishing being new to it I have watched many videos but yours is the only one I found that keeps it simple.
Glad to help

The scissors on my Leatherman Wingman are fantastic for braid.
my boy and i caught 28 of them for you today! ned rig for the win. God bless brother
You can get 8-in bolt cutters at any home improvement store for 10 to 15 bucks.
Crescent makes a pair of compound cutters that work great for less than $20. I keep a pair in all my boats for heavy cutting.
Most definitely a informative blog. Awesome job man as aways.
Thank Tito
Thank you for the video. I really enjoy your channel and the information.
Thanks for watching!

I love the barracuda braid cutters. They work great and are 3 dollars near me
Could you do a video on using a beetle spin lure and ultralight fisging?
Love your videos. Just starting to get into fishing your a great teacher. Wish the ponds I fish wernt over fished
I know what you mean. Both parking lots are always full on my lake. It can be tough.
@@Flukemaster kids and I have fun rather we catch any or not!
thanks for the tips gene. is there any way you can make a video about beginner kayaking and if the cheap ones are worth it? thanks
I enjoyed the tips! Big thumbs up!
Thanks so much!
Knives are the best!
could you demostrate the rtf on a rod please.

Those cutters are now 40. I put a link in the description of the video
@@Flukemaster thanks Gene I'll look for him when I'm in Lowe's tomorrow I've got to go there anyway.
Awesome video!!!
I was enjoying your tackle Tuesday videos; why did you stop making them?
I need that RTD on the yak. Any idea if mid-micro guides are big enough for it to work?
So that rod lining tool will help me? Heck I'm blind in one eye and can't see out the other. hahaha I need to replace my heavy cutters.
solid advice. diggin it.
I wanted to know is there a rule of thumb to use when knowing how much braid is compared to test of mono or flourocarbon
Ty. I'm in the process of getting a safety/tool kit together. CK
I was wondering how good that rtd was i kept seeing it on dave Mercer videos
Go Dawgs!

It’s a remote for my Power Pole Anchor.
That RTD looks like it would only work for casting rods!?
I don't see why it wouldn't work with spinning rods

looks like someone does a little reloading too. lol IMR can and MTM boxes
Yep. Been reloading since I could walk. I still use a cast iron single stage that’s way older than me.

My nana lives beside your house and I wanna say hi 😂
Go Dawgs
It is a GREAT DAY. I got shipping confirmation on my Social Distancing shirt... be here next week.
i got mine the other day, took 3+ weeks to arrive but totally worth it lol
GO DAWGS!!
Most pain I ever had fishing was one treble hook completely through my pinky, the other treble in the bass.
Raptor shears replaces all those shear cutters
Leatherman is the brand they're medical shears I use at work but I take them fishing always
Lay down the knowledge my friend!
Tiptons Golden Retriever link doesn't appear to work
It works for me.
@@Flukemaster must be something on my end. Great movie, btw!!!
Yeeee haw
is the brace a new tool? Sorry... hope you well soon...
When I’ve gotten hooked those knipex are the greatest thing to have.
why not just use mend it instead of the lighter?
I've bought two bottles of Mend it over the years and both of them leaked out before I had a chance to use them.
No picks for backlashes???? I need them for my son... yeah for him.. LOL
Two bad arms ? What's happening Gene? Get behind the camera and let your son teach us then! :)
Any one else hear static when listening to this with earphones or AirPods
It could be back round sound or static from his mic. Headphones pick that up better.🙂🎣
