It makes me so emotional to see Walt’s roots, and the goodness he created with Disney, to now see it all changing into something twisted, something so far from the wholesomeness he meant for it to be. I don’t think I’ll ever feel the same at Disneyland anymore. I wish the people running Disney now were more good and wholesome like he was, and would choose to stay true to his original idea, but the world is changing. And not in a good direction 😢
My grandma was raised in the Kansas City area, but growing up would spend her summers in Marceline with her grandparents. She’s always felt a strong connection to Disney because of her time in Marceline. Such a neat place full of history!
My favorite part, Adam is told no filming allowed in the museum. So he goes on to take pictures inside the museum, and he films the pictures he took on his phone. 😂 I love it! Thanks, Adam
ABSOLUTEY love this episode. My wife and kids took me to Marceline for Father's day about a decade ago. We had such a blast and fell in love with the museum. Love your affection for Disney and the happiness it brings. I feel the same way. Also love the story about giving good entertainment for your dollar. Man I love this so much.
Adam, thanks for showing us Marceline again! We were so excited when we finally visited this past May and crossed it off our "Disney Bucket List." It was great to see the Barn and sign our names (Looked for yours, but forgot where it was...there are so many), as well as seeing the town and the wonderful museum! Also, the story of Walt and his "circus" and people getting what they paid for...really needs to be heeded by the higher ups currently in Disney Parks.
as somebody that grew up in Marceline, I love when you go back and show all the history with Disney there it’s a beautiful little town full of people that will do anything to help each other for the most part most of my family is moved away, but I will always be home to me unfortunately from what I’ve seen though quite a few people have left due to lack of job opportunities and that is sad to see but they are attempting to modernize it which is great I encourage everybody to visit and support the businesses in town whenever possible :-)
Outside of the museum, a clock was added last month mirroring those found in the parks (the only one outside of a Disney Park). Its dedication ceremony was part of the D23 event.
Love seeing the childhood home of Walt and Roy. They were awesome visionaries and creators of entertainment and family vacation spots. So sad for what it has all become.
Adam, really enjoyed your awesome video on Walt Disney's hometown and very interesting! Thank you for taking me along with you on your travels to places I'll never get to see! YOU ROCK!!!!! Looking forward to your next vlog
9:59 The Family Circus' Jeff Keane (whose father Bil was the original strip artist, and whose brother is Disney animator Glen Keane!) and Free Range's Bill Whitehead!! They must've signed the barn when the NCS was in town.
I wrote and directed a documentary about Walt for NBC News back in 1999 and a highlight of that production was visiting Marceline and filming in all the same spots that you visited yesterday. Kay M. and her husband were gracious hosts and allowed me to sit in Walt's former bedroom (we even had a big fish fry at the end of the day). It was a great trip with lots of memories of very friendly Marceline residents. Loved this installment of your travels, Adam!
tell ya what man that Main Street or Main Street USA with that cloudy rainy skies hit me in the soft spot of my heart because I reminded me of all of my local small towns when I was growing up love these little small towns videos
Thanks to Adam, Justin and other You-tubers, I have visited Marceline many, many times, but NEVER in person. This was a very unique look at the town. Thank you for the informative and entertaining video, Adam.
With Disney currently hemorrhaging money like it is, I don't think they'll be investing any into Marceline in the near future, unfortunately. It would be pretty cool to have another Disney park closer to the middle of the country. Thanks for showing us around.
These places have definitely been added on the good ole todo list. We signed one of the benches at D23 last year. Now it’s gonna be a mission of mine to find it!
Great video as always Adam. As much as you love trains I’m surprised you haven’t done any multi city train trips. You’d get to see parts of America you can’t see from your car!
Love your videos. About 6 weeks ago Nate Morrow was invited to see the dedication of the Mainstreet clock and have dinner on the farm along with a larger group.
Very cool they added the information signs 😎✌️ amazing how many things inspired him from a real mouse to trains and his home town. Great video Woo ..still watching tho
Fun facts I found when I visited Marceline: The lady who runs the museum Kaye lives in the Disney family home. Her father Rush Johnson knew Walt and Walt asked him to buy the land around the home for The Marceline Project (he knew they'd jack up the price if they knew it was him). RETLAW owned it next, but after Walt passed, it was sold off but Roy first sold the home property back to Rush. You can stay in the rooms above the Uptown Theater too. A lot of Imagineers stay there and have signed the walls. But I didn't get much sleep the train passes through town the entire night haha. Kaye said she offered the owners of the KC Laugh-O-Gram studies to move the building to Marceline since it's just falling apart. It's the building that matters most, not so much the location. Walt's daughter Diane gave money to the Laugh-O-Gram studios renovation years ago but looks like not much has happened haha. I believe the original pool Walt donated is gone but the new pool is state-of-the-art
Hi Adam, listening to your pure joy of touring this town and narrating for us was a pleasure. Your knowledge is thorough and informative. Thank you for taking us with you.
HEY ATW...THANKS FOR THIS EPISODE. I REMEMBER WATCHING you sign those rafters and to go back and see where you autographed the planks was so moving to me. I can't explain why, it was a deja Vu vibe like I've never felt before. Man, you're not just getting older, you're getting better! Thanks again.
Thanks for the tour, Adam! It’s great to see these places that I probably would never have seen otherwise. Thanks for the research. Have a great day and enjoy your travels.
I’d settle for someone with imagination and thinking outside the box and not all about the almighty dollar . At least someone with more of a healthy balance
Inside the school is quite charming, with several pieces of art donated by the Disney studio in both the entry hall & gym. There are also several photos & a case where Walt's tiny schoolboy desk can be found when it's not in the museum.
I learned so much about Walt Disney from this one video you are awesome thank you for documenting American history and America’s original national treasure/Walt Disney
That is awesome that you visited Walt's hometown! I visited for my first time a year ago and filmed a video. Some locals seen I was documenting and asked if I wanted to go inside the Uptown Theater. It was so cool! I got some video footage & some photos...theu were even telling me that they rent the upstairs as an Airbnb! Thanks for sharing Adam! This brought back memories!
Adam, how about on one of your trips, take the train, if you haven’t done that already. You document the past and present and some things you film, may not be around for much longer, like riding a train, who knows.
That Goofy face art looked like it belonged to None other than "Bill Justice"(framed Chip n' Dale Creator & Long time Disney studio artist of 44 yrs. 🤗😉
Cool that you released this vlog on Disneyland’s 68th birthday! Well done! I remember on the 65th when you were planning to celebrate at Disneyland, but couldn’t because of COVID.
This was a fantastic video, Adam. Very insightful and chock full and things i never knew. You did your homework on this one. One of your best vlogs IMO!
AT A whopping 47:34..i'd say yes to watching where you were going, and reading before you wander off to quickly, take your time enjoy it immerse yourself in the moment while documenting something so beloved, this was a very in depth visit for sure.
Welcome to MO! I’ve visited Marceline twice and after visiting Disneyland, I see Walt’s vision of Main Street USA. Looking forward to your visit to baseball heaven in St Louis, hopefully next season.
Hello Adam, i will join you lol nice shirt, it looks as its going to rain in Missouri. Thanks for sharing the history of were it all started with Walt Disney. Take care.😎📸😊
I watched the video by Paging Mr Morrow that you mentioned. It was awsome! Minnie, Mickey and other characters were there. A dinner was served on the grounds where the barn is. They had fireworks! It was super nice.
The video feels slightly incomplete without hearing Adam say "That's going to do it for today! " see you in the next video! " The Vlog............Is over!"
How cool! I live in Brookfield Mo. You just recently missed the 100 yrs of Walt Disney celebration, before the town's 4th of July celebration. The barn is so peaceful!
I don't think I posted my previous comment by accident. Just so you know, we ARE working to reopen the Uptown. Pandemic shutdowns and supply chain issues during and after set us back. I did the National Register of Historic Places nomination, and I'm happy to say that on 3 July 2023 it was officially listed in the Register. It is the first building in Marceline listed on the Register! That opens us up to potentially millions in grant monies. We are currently doing fundraising on our website, too. We do a Register dedication for the theater in September. If you're even in town again when I am (I live in Muncie, IN), I'd love to show you the other historic places in town!
Hey Adam the Woo, great video from Marceline, Missouri...Hometown of the famous Walt Disney and his family. Great farmhouse & other fine sites..Enjoy on..Shall you ?

The same way God made such a beautiful perfect world and humanity fucked it up. We have not changed in that way
My grandma was raised in the Kansas City area, but growing up would spend her summers in Marceline with her grandparents. She’s always felt a strong connection to Disney because of her time in Marceline. Such a neat place full of history!
My favorite part of the Museum was listening to the interview Walt gave to his parents on their 50th Anniversary. Marceline is a wonderful town.
My favorite part, Adam is told no filming allowed in the museum. So he goes on to take pictures inside the museum, and he films the pictures he took on his phone. 😂
I love it! Thanks, Adam
Perfect timing on Disneyland's anniversary. My grandpa was there on opening day. 🏰 Love this. Thank you for sharing with us.
Glad you enjoyed it

Adam thanks for he tour of Marceline. Such a historic place. Great job Enjoyed it very much. 😊
You can still see your ATW in Red next to Justin’s signature over the door.
Good eye !
Love seeing the childhood home of Walt and Roy. They were awesome visionaries and creators of entertainment and family vacation spots. So sad for what it has all become.

Love the revisit to Marceline! So awesome that you could go back and see the signature you left "for posterity" in the barn!
At the young age of 77, nice to know that Hayley Mills is still with us. Growing up, fell in puppy love for Ms. Mills and Ms. Funicello.
Adam, really enjoyed your awesome video on Walt Disney's hometown and very interesting! Thank you for taking me along with you on your travels to places I'll never get to see! YOU ROCK!!!!! Looking forward to your next vlog

Worlds of fun/Oceans of fun KCMO
That's not Disney. There are six flags and busch gardens all over the place, but they are also not Disney parks. There is a huge difference.
This is a good dose of the daily woo woo❤
These places have definitely been added on the good ole todo list. We signed one of the benches at D23 last year. Now it’s gonna be a mission of mine to find it!
You gotta go it’s a great town
Shouting Hey from KC! I love adventuring to Marceline! ❤️

Great deep dive into Walt Disney history.

Practically every town in the USA has a kool vintage Main Street😎I always have loved shopping in these old buildings.
Love your enthusiasm in the vlog 🫶🏼
I wish ol Walt could come back and take over the Disney empire once more….. the train needs put back on its rails.
I’d settle for someone with imagination and thinking outside the box and not all about the almighty dollar . At least someone with more of a healthy balance
@TheDailyWoo I couldn’t agree with you more. Absolutely!!!😊
Wow that is so awesome/that the whole town/Marceline is “ Disney Centruc”! 😝😍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Right down the middle of Main Street USA 🎶✨️
Thank you for taking us to Walt Disney’s hometown. I loved watching this video and all the other ones with old towns and abandoned places.
Your love and inthusiasm for this place is contagious ❤

This was a great learning experience thanks for showing your adventure

They even put Casey's General Store on the town mural, if only Disneyland had the best gas station pizza on earth on mainstream USA! 18:44
It would be great if Disney had store on Main Street that looked like a park store and sold the same merchandise. Tribute to the Disney brothers.
Great history of Walt I wasn’t aware of this, love the barn! Wish I was able to of put my name in it.
Great video Adam 🥰
thank you for loving our town so much im from marceline.

The Autopia cars are in the yellow shed. Two were in use during the D23 event in June. The license plate for the one I drove was 'Walt.'
Awesome history
