Right guys, welcome back to Frostpunk. I'm doing a mini series of tips & tricks consisting of 4 videos and this is video #3, how to survive the storm. This mini series is to help you guys out because this game can be really difficult. This is more showing you how the storm works and giving you a bit of experience before you encounter it yourself rather than directly giving you tips & tricks because it's fairly simple to actually survive it. Just make sure to stockpile a huge amount of resources because you can guarantee a lot of your citizens are going to die! (It reaches -150 degrees). This game is meant to be merciless to the player from the very beginning. Its challenging but each time I play through I survive a bit longer
3rd play-threw I mastered the game, 22 atomotons, everything maxed out and researched. I’ll post a video in the next few days
@@heavydutyroadsidellc920 on survivor difficulty? Because I completely used up all the building space on an endless mode with normal weather and people settings but easier resource settings, however on a new home when the storm comes by that time I only had 4 automatons and it was nowhere near enough, so I kept sending my workers to their deaths in the mines. My own people turned on me and killed me thinking that would make anything better.
4? Can't you send the three to the mines and one anywhere else

I literally lasted until the last day of the storm and my people got mad at me and executed me mid storm like bruh I kept the generator going for your ungrateful asses until 2 hours after you killed me bruh.
Literally same thing happened to me. But I knew it was going to happen. I couldn't bring the discontent down in time.

Made it to 43 and no food or coal yeah I got executed
I lasted until the last day and then my steam core blew up because I forgot I was Overcharging it XD
The Faith path keeps ur people with more Hope in the storm, sadly my coal use was too high
Use automation in coal mines and before the storm,make outpost on coal mines for emergency situations have two charcoal makers
Also forgot make GOOD USE OF STEAM HUBS they take a lot of coal ,build max 5 (when running on range 2) heaters are all kinda cheap just be careful with steam hubs
Dude the charcoal building is better than the coal mines. I didn't research the mines and I still had 6 days of coal for the fully upgraded generator at max range. From my first play through I noticed that the infirmaries stayed nice and hot at - 120. Next time I will fill the crater with infirmaries.
Fr? I may have to attempt that because even with 4 automatons going I couldn’t keep up with coal consumption I even shut down any non essential heating sources, but I think one of my biggest mistakes was only upgrading to generator level 2
Bro your infirmaries had +2 base heat +4 from generator +3 from heater +2 from medical insulation upgrade or it may also had +2 from generator override if you had that on so it will be livelable on -120
the bifgest problem is that i basically ran out of food and i didnt have heart to turn down all the refugees and ended up with no food with over 700 people in the city. thay banished me at the end but still this game is awesome

holy shit I take all the survivors my city is so huge but people still die when the storm came, not much i can do
Have you tried putting heaps of the uhh I forgot the mini generators as close together as you can and hoping you don’t run out of coal?

I was Lucky i already played the last autum. On the Edge and a sandbox so i knew what to do to barely pass,(like 150 dead and very bad generator) but did It on first try.
Yeah no I'm not replaying the whole thing all over again just because I forgot to build coal mines lmao

How many days you have to survive the storm?
The game lags near the end of storm? But I already play on lowest settings and get 6 fps will it crash? Edit: it didn't crash but ran on stable 3 fps 😢😢😢😢 I have an intel HD 2500. I finished the game on normal mode on a new home,had 357 survivers around 70% hope and 45%discontent just before the storm ended ,this was my first time playing this game and before the storm started ,I had 560ppl, only had lv 3 research in all categories (only the important once),one automation,all bunk houses ,1200 food I choose faith so got easy hope and had little food still did evening prayers whenever plausible Take faith for easy victory

I've just watched a couple of his videos and I don't think I sound like him at all plus he's Australian and I'm English so the accents are completely different. I've been told I sound like a few different people before and I can never notice a resemblance. It's weird how people can hear the exact same things in a different way.

Yep same but make charcoal makers for emergency or if you have 2 wood drills then you can use it always

You have two days after discontent maxes out before they get rid of you too. I failed at the entrance of the coldest temperature, but on medium. Will try again, because I didn't know the storm lasted this long lol
