Do the members not run lights & sirens on POV?

State law does not permit members to do so.

I'm joining Avon in a few years & it would be great if the law was changed by then. Not likely. They think it's too many lights & sirens buzzing around & it causes confusion. B.S.

In Connecticut you can have a permit for blue lights, but no sirens. The state also hands out I believe 3 red lights and sirens permits which the department can give out to whoever they choose. usually deputy chiefs, captains or lieutenants etc

@@ryanwest5211 I was just curious. We run red lights & have to have a siren if you run lights.
