You, sir, just became my absolute hero. I love Skillet, it's my very favorite band and I want to play their songs but do not have the time to figure out all the scores on my own. (I did Whispers in the Dark, Last Night and Say Goodbye and it just took me ages. :/ ) So I'm abnormally thrilled that I finally found your channel. I really appreciate that you give us the possibility to work with your sheets ... this makes me soo happy :) Thank you very much!
That sounds awesome! Alright, for starters, the song is in F minor, and the chords to the opening strings riff are Dflat -> Eflat -> F -> Aflat (according to the Fm scale). With the right hand, the actual strings play this, alternating with an F: C - Bflat - C - Dflat - C - Bflat - Aflat - G. Put that together, and that's the intro. Next, the verses can be simply played as a giant F minor chord, with the little strings riff after 'death / surrounds' played as C-Bflat-C-Dflat-C (cont'd)
Wow, I can here each part that John and Jen sing in your playing. Very good playing. I've already watched the video several times both in lyric and original video. :0)
(cont'd) ... which repeats every measure. Assuming you're singing, the right hand can play the riff and the left hand can just rest on the Fm chord -- relatively easy :) . Next is the chorus, which is structured as Dflat -> F -> Aflat -> Eflat. There's not much else to add instrumentation-wise; I put Jon's voice as the melody and Jen's either a third or sixth up, although you're singing, so the right hand isn't an issue. Have fun adding your own touches!
I love this! I think this could be a standalone song in itself. You captured the right intensity at the right moments. By far my favorite of all the piano covers of this song :)
Well...that's a tough question. Honestly, it takes a LOT of listening, a little bit of ear training, the ability to play octaves (okay maybe not -- but I guess it helps), and some luck. Yes, luck -- as in, I throw the parts together and hope that it sounds good!
I'm realizing there's only so much you can write in 500 characters haha. Anyhow, there's also the pre-chorus (Jen's singing solo), which is underlined by Bflat - Dflat - F - (G) - Enatural and then straight to the chorus. There's also the Dflat-Aflat repeating right-hand ideas over the Bflat and Dflat chords, if you can hear them at about 0:47. The guitar solo is complicated; just for fun, the chords are the same as the pre. I can't help you with the solo itself, though - sorry! Good luck!
becuz u've answer me and helped me, even I don't understood the most of the chords .. I am gonna abo u :) :P I will try it somehow :P And I beliefe I am gonna shake it, haha ... I hope so :D thank u sooo much for ur kind help, Mr. Greetz from germany :)
This is great! The only thing I would say is that you go from fast to slow very quickly. To make it even more dramatic, it would be better to slowly progress to being slow. And the tempo is way to fast as well. But all in all it was great.
Hey, I am a beginner, and wish to play this song as possible as a company with my voice ... could do help me somehow? ... how to play it easier maybe?... I thank God for your talent, Mr/ Brother. :) btw. AWESOME WORK! :) God bless you! Thank You-.
