    I’m so proud of Christine and Janelle for getting out of an unhealthy relationship and culty religion but it’s really unfortunate that they hopped right into a cult of another kind. This deserves a lot more attention than it gets. And it’s not just Christine and Janelle! Meri is also in an MLM and several of the adult female kids are also involved in MLMs. Very frustrating

      @@msullivan3531 This is exactly what I was going to comment. Their religion is an offshoot of Mormonism, so MLM's are extremely common within the community. I was not surprised whatsoever when Hannah mentioned she would be doing a video on this in her last video, only surprised it took them this long to join one.

      I think maybe they don't really understand what they're involved in. Like they don't understand that these companies are MLMs or they don't understand what an MLM is. I feel like they're all a bit naive because of how sheltered their lives are. Also I feel like they were still quite vulnerable after getting away from a Narcissist and getting out of a cult. Also being on their own and having to support themselves for the first time. I think they were probably preyed upon and they're doing whatever their upline or other reps are telling them. I also feel like they may really believe in the stuff or want to believe it because Janelle and Christine have both been struggling with weight and health issues. I feel like they're not trying to do anything malicious or trying to fool people. I think they want to do everything they can to make an income from Plexus. I am someone that's been through hell and had some similar experiences. I escaped a 30yr. relationship with an abusive narcissist, I was totally brain washed and it took someone else to show me the truth. I was also conned into 2 MLM's years ago. When I was still in the brainwashed world. It's been 4 years of working on healing, that I am now strong enough to see the truth in everything. I did a lot of work, a lot of research and learning. Plus in depth trauma healing and watching lots of educational and informative videos like these. It takes a lot to become strong and learn how to tell when something is true or not. When you've been constantly gas lighted for so many years it becomes really difficult to know what the real truth is. Now I'm specifically speaking of Janelle and Christine. I honestly feel that they are being told what to say and post. They're being told that this is what you need to do to make it in this company. So they're just agreeing and doing whatever they're told and believing they're doing something good. As far as Molly and Cynthia, I feel they know what they're doing. They're both legitimate business owners and they're pretty savvy and street smart. They've both been single taking care of themselves for quite awhile. I just don't think they're as naive, but who knows. Maybe Molly is gullible, I mean she did fall for a love and marriage scam on 90 days. So I'm not sure. I do know when I got talked into Avon or Mary Kay, I did everything possible to sell my products and did listen to whatever my upline told me to do. Looking back I did things that I would never do now. Honestly I didn't know then that I shouldn't be doing those things. 🤷

    A high school friend of mine sells plexus. She was overweight for years and years while selling plexus. Then a couple of years ago she got gastric bypass. Now, at first she was very transparent - She posted about her recovery. She used gastric bypass hashtags all that stuff. Then, predictably, she stopped talking about it and continued promoting plexus using pictures of her before and after with watch me or join me style hashtags. Every once in a while, she’ll nest in a little gastric bypass tag among her plexus hashtags but if you ask me, that’s just as bad as an influencer hiding their ad disclaimer behind their captions.

    I've bought Plexus before. Not for me but for my cat. See, when I adopted my cat, he had 'known stomach issues' and the rescue had put him (the cat) on the Plexus's probiotics. I was told that it was the only thing that controlled his bowels and vomiting. I adopted him mainly because no one wanted the cat due to his stomach issues (he had been passed around from one adoption place to another for a year) and I knew that I could give him the love and attention that he needed. I kept him on the probiotics for a couple of years, bought it from a person I didn't know, never met but was who the rescue had used to get it from. Will say after two years, it got old. Never saw the 'stomach' issues that this cat was suppose to have, so I stopped giving him the probiotics. It's been 3 years now since his last pill, and still no issues, just a normal cat living his best life. His only problem is he will beg for 'people food' and I think the original owner fed him table scraps which cause the 'stomach issues' that they claimed he had.

      A change of diet doesn't just help you lose weight, it helps you in other places health wise too. One of my college professors told us how one of his kids had really bad gastritis, and as someone who worked as a pharmacist, he didn't like feeding his kid so many pills. So he and his wife slowly changed the whole family's diet to a healthier one (so that the kid didn't feel like it was only him) and the symptoms just stopped. They obviously still have antacids on hand just in case they have to eat out at a restaurant or something, but the condition isn't as severe. Gastritis is basically the stomach mucus getting irritated and producing more acid than normal, so getting rid of whatever is causing said irritation can help.

People who've been following the TLC show know there's some financial uncertainty now that the family is breaking up (destroying the premise of the TV show portraying polygamy). Also, due to the way fans have reacted to the various personalities involved, Christine and Janelle in particular are enjoying alot of fan support and sympathy, and are generally seen as victims who "escaped". Pushing their side-hustles now is just striking while the iron is hot, taking advantage of favorable fan opinion while it lasts.

    Of course they know what they’re doing! Those ladies deserve so much more in their life and should be striving to get out of the spotlight and find out what their passions are. It’s really disappointing. Seems like they’re jumping from one emotional boat to another emotional boat. Exploiting people is not what I thought they would end up doing with their lives! So sad and it also makes me sick to my stomach. Especially when they have the potential to hurt so many people emotionally and financially😢

While watching I was forced to watch an ad for a company that helps “network marketers” better market themselves online- it was such a cringy and stilted ad. From what I’ve gathered from other people who talk about the Browns, it seems to be that Kody gets paid by TLC and he’s supposed to disperse the pay evenly to the family that is involved with the show. However, it appears he pretty much pockets all of it because several of his kids have come forward saying they never got anything even when they turned into adults and were appearing on the show. This is why I think a lot of them get involved in these types of schemes because they have to make money and it’s easier for them since they are well known. Not saying it’s a good excuse or anything and I’m not sure how much TLC actually pays them (probably not enough still) but I know Kody isn’t giving really anyone any money

    • @LorrieC23
      @LorrieC23 Год назад

      I’m not sure that’s the way it works. From everything I have seen & heard the money is split between the five adults, (Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine & Robyn). They get anywhere from $25,000 to $40,00 per episode.

    • @kaitlinjenkins1073
      @kaitlinjenkins1073 Год назад

      @@LorrieC23 like I said, that’s what I’ve gathered from many different sources. There is lots of evidence that points to the fact that none of the wives saw any money. They talk about a family account a lot but even Janelle said herself that the funds weren’t being used properly or fairly. The kids have also been saying things too about the family funds so I mean you really should do research yourself before commenting you don’t think that’s how it works because there is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise.

I lost 85 pounds, blood sugar regulated, cholesterol normalized, and overall still 9 years later (and not taking the products regularly) I'm still healthier than ever. Did it help me learn to eat healthier? Absolutely. The products helped me immensely not fall to diabetes like my father did. That being said, of all the MLMs, Plexus was actually the best of them all. I built a team, had a lot of customers, and was doing well. I left the company when they changed their back office software, not because of anything else. I don't think these ladies are doing anything wrong. Not all MLMs are built alike for sure. in fact now, the Plexus compensation plan is not the same as it was almost a decade ago, and is really centered around product and lifestyle and not team building.

    I just stumbled across a video (that features you, Hannah, briefly!) by Jordan and McKay about how MLMs have roots in Mormonism, and oh it explains so much about the fact that this is a women's thing to do from home, focusing on weight loss, beauty (Mormon goals) and household items/prepper stuff (a basic principle of the faith, stock up), and the predatory, exploitative practices and claims like "This will heal you". These hosts grew up Mormon themselves and this was eye-opening, starting with the tithe (giving 10% of what you make). It's a distortion of church teaching and LDS has addressed "affinity fraud" as something that can get you excommunicated but the similarities remain: these schemes borrow language and concepts from religious organization and thus it resembles a cult.
