Hello Debbie and John. Thank you so much for this great,Epic❤Video! It was picture perfect with flowers and even Mt.Whitney. Awesome ! Safe drive home. John you have all next week to heel. Debbie...whole week is a lot...post us something anything... Like your white scarf and Loooove that staff animal !!
Oh my goodness, you brought many wonderful memories back for me. Dad was high tower lineman and helped put the power lines up from LA to Nevada in 1970 so home base was Bishop and Lone Pine for several months. Loved rockhounding with my Dad as a young teen, wandering all through the hills. Loved seeing familiar places after being gone for so long. Thank you for sharing your trip!!! - Lynn
Really enjoyed this video of my favorite part of California! I've camped at nearly all the spots shown in the last 17 years in my truck camper. Keep up the great videos. Safe travels.
Y'all are NOT TOO OLD to be biking and hiking! You constantly inspire me. That's a horrible looking bump on your leg, John (8+ days out!). I hope you're feeling better soon!❤
Fun video! I laughed at Debbie's pants and groaned at John's leg and "bare arms" joke. We can't wait to get back to the Eastern Sierras. Some kids have to wonder how to take their parents keys away. Our kids will have to wonder how to take our e-bikes away.
Oh my gosh, I had no idea you were from Cincinnati! I'm from Dayton. Been living in Reno for 8 years now. Missing Skyline Chili and Graeter's Ice Cream 🥹 but loving all the Sierra's have to offer. Love your videos too!! OH!
Hi Debbie, we recently bought a 2021 Pleasureway Plateau FL and as a new subscriber in CA, I have been binge watching all your episodes. I love your zest for life, and thank you(and John) so much for sharing your travel adventures and taking me along the ride, as I plan for some trips this summer.
You are so welcome. Happy to answer any questions you have. It can be a bit overwhelming at first but just remember overcoming the issues is part of the adventure.
What a great trip! I’m adding it to my list for when I make it out west. Thanks for sharing. The history is so interesting, isn’t it? I got a peek at the cardboard build happening in your new rig when I stopped in to see George a couple days ago. It’s going to be awesome! My little Mini-Me is coming along beautifully too 😊
That’s kind of you. But I’ll share one of our favorite Sunday shows, “Laura Kampf”. Wish I could turn John into her brother for his filming skills. I keep dropping hints.
Thanks for the beautiful tour! Love this window of time - vibrant green and flowers, but lots of snow on the mountains against bright blue skies. Of course that also comes with floods, washouts and avalanches🤣
Good morning, Friends! What a great way to start the day with your beautiful music and views. You continue to do such an amazing job of editing and creating such special videos for us. Thanks for your hard work and for bringing us along! That Desert Primrose was gorgeous. I appreciate you sharing the history with us.❤🙏 from SC, Jane
I’m really diggin’ the Jennifer Chung songs you play. Embarrassed to say that I’d never heard of her, but I’m getting up to speed. She does a wonderful duet of “Beauty and the Beast”. Her songs are gentle and loving …… something we need a lot more of in this world.
The John Muir Trailhead sign reminds me of the time we walked through the Muir Woods National Monument in Marin County. As we were walking along the trail, we heard the distant sound of a flute. Soon the flute player and her accompanists appeared and they continued past us into the trees. I almost thought I detected a hint of MaryJane in the wind ……
You and John are the highlight of my RUclips world! Hopefully you continue these amazing side trips for a long time. Hope John is healing. Watch those pot hol😂s, too!
Last weekend I was up in Show Low, AZ for a Yoga Retreat through my church. As I drove up and back, there were acres of acres of red, yellow, purple and fushia flowers covering the high mountains. What was unique was that they were not mixed together. Each color had bloomed on it's own from the other colors. I live in Phoenix and Show Low is 3 hours away so you can imagine my surprise. Usually we drive south to Sedona and Flagstaff or East to Payson or the Mogollon Rim. I had never been to Show Low this time of year. It was breathtaking.
Great video this week great background music. Be careful out there John remember when you fall it's a long way to the ground. Really enjoy watching you guys your rving video's are the best. May help my wife and I are in your age group. You do our age group proud. Keep up the great work.
First of all, I can understand why you don’t have a video every week but I do miss them when they’re not there. My husband and I started Geocaching in 2011. We used to have a “normal“ trips and now we let the geocaches plot our paths. They have taken us to magical places. You also find incredible spots.
Thanks. I always have mixed emotions when I get complements. There's the fear of not being able to repeat a success and the trepidation of anticipating the labor involved. However, knowing that there seems to be an audience for this stuff inspires me to keep at it. I guess that's the long way around the barn for me to say I appreciate all you guys who keep coming back to see this minor league ball team play another game.
What about “ROADIES”? Drove over the Tehachipi Pass last weekend and the bloom was fabulous. Considered visiting my niece near Lake Isabella; however, though better for a storm was scheduled for Monday last. Sorry you will miss musing with you “Subs”! 9:25
We got 1.35" from that storm. That's a first for May. I'm scratching my head though about what your last sentence means. Maybe that's also a sign of aging. Or maybe I was born a bit thick.
Nah, it is the writer’s lack of clarity about your music choices. Samantha is now an Oldie but Goodie in the music world having retired to raise a family and travel en famille with Michael Runkel.
I just recently found your channel and enjoy it.We returned yesterday from camping at Fossel Falls, Goodale and Tuttle creeks . Lots of water in Owen's"dry" Lake bed and still wildflowers thanks for identifying them.
From start to finish each day the video kept getting better & better. Ouch! The blump (is that what they call a bump/lump) on John’s leg looked pretty bad-hope they scanned that so there wasn’t an underlying clot. How is he doing now? John, the funny one="bear/bare arms." Each video is appreciated very much and you have a gift for choosing the perfect sites to share & put it altogether. Thank you.
Thanks so much for another wonderful video! I have been enjoying your channel for years! In fact, did you do a video a while back on all your favorite spots along Hwy 395? If I remember, it included restaurants, attractions, visitor centers, etc. I would love to watch that one again.
I've covered 395 so many times because we drive that way to see our grand kids. But you might be thinking of the video I did last year as we started US 6 from Bishop to Provincetown. ruclips.net/video/tmsBu9oAHVg/видео.html
Again, you inspire to explore more wonders of our country by rv'ing. And take advice on amazing things to discover from those met along the way. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for another great video and all the work you put in to entertain your viewers! Enjoy your video-free weekend. - Greetings from my spring France trip. Part 1: The scenic river Dordogne from its source in the volcanic mountains of the Auvergne to its confluence with the Garonne river near Bordeaux. Nature, culture, and good food!
Back on familiar territory, but this time all in white. That's crazy how much snow got dumped in the Sierras this winter. I saw that one video Foresty Forest did where he was off 395 and stuck with little Rocko in a blizzard. Did you see his new Pedego ebike? Hope you had a good plant sale, I love going to those things. Will look for a new video in a couple of weeks, have a good one!
I saw Foresty’s episode and glad he didn’t stay longer because it kept getting worse. Wish I could have shared some info with him before he made the bike purchase but he’ll figure it out.
I love this entire region! So happy to see how they’ve fared from your video. Can’t wait to get back up there. I have refresher training for my Mono Lake volunteering work in a few weeks. Looking forward to hitting Goodall Creek CG again - it was a sweet find AND meeting you! If we cross paths again, I’d love to give you guys a tour! Safe travels.
Fossil Falls is also a good place to spend the night. I love the Seek app you use to identify plants. It seems to be getting better. Oh, I see you DID camp at Fossil Falls. I saw the most dramatic sunset of my entire 70+ years from that campground in December of ‘21. Love your videos! I’ll miss you all next week.
Wow! Thanks so much for touring snowy 395 for us! We were wandering around the southwest at that time but I really wanted to see this historic Sierra winter snow. (We stayed at the Queen City Rv in Bisbee-thanks for the tip!) Take it easy-cheers from Man Beach
I really enjoyed this video!❤ The scenery was fabulous and I loved the music choices, especially “Someday”. Learned of a new artist! Thanks! 👍 Also, that bump in John’s leg looks pretty bad.😬 If it’s been already 8 days and haven’t improved much, you might want to get it checked out to make sure it doesn’t need an incision and drainage. I’m no doctor though.
Thank you so much for a great video! You all are so fun to watch and listen to. We live closer to Lynn and Owen and hope to one day cross paths with them. But would truly love to meet you all! You inspire us to travel extensively so who knows, maybe someday we meet in person. Thanks again!
Nice video Debbie! One of my favorite of your series. We are headed up 395 this week and am looking forward to some great scenery and possibly snagging a spot at one of those BLM sites. No reservations, just winging it and we wind up where we wind up.
Tanya & I wanted to see the snow in Mammoth, but the US Masters Nationals Alpine races were canceled because of too much snow. So, we flew down to St. Petersburg, FL. Beach time was good, I thawed, and Tanya melted. Still have spring skiing here in CO high-country.
Thanks for the video and the pretty wild flower pictures! Great time to travel 395 and good info on the campgrounds. I hope to see water in the Owens Lake before it disappears. Sorry about John’s fall and like my airborne flight caused by Bridger it takes time to heal when you get older! Whining is okay! 😂
Just watched the video and what a surprise! Great to meet you all and if you are ever in Cincinnati let us know. Love seeing your adventures! And isn’t it great to be fit and able to do the things we do! 💪🏼😎💪🏼
Have you been to the charcoal kilns in Wildrose Canyon near Death Valley? I believe there are about 10 of them in a row and they are very well preserved.
No. If we’re just driving through a patch of cold air, there is no need to winterize. Prolonged night time temperatures might warrant winterizing. We keep a thermometer under the van to give us a better indication of temperatures.
All but Tuttle Creek are pretty good. But if you want screaming fast, then continue on to the BLM campground at Crowley Lake. It was closed when we drove through on that trip.
I love Fossil Falls! Oh John - your leg - ouch! Cracked or bruised ribs are not fun… Geocaching can be really fun - Alabama State Parks puts swag in the geocaches - can koozies & keychains. Will be in Alabama tomorrow (again)!
My mom's side of the family are all from Alabama. I need to get back down there to say hi to my cousins but not in the summer! Hope it isn't too hot for you!
Missing California. Have been out of state for over a year. Thanks for the vicarious fix on several of our favorite places along 395 and a couple new ones. We love Fossil Falls and stay there every chance we get. We struck out the last time we tried to stay in Alabama Hills too. Great that you found your first geocache. You just made me realize that this is our 20th anniversary of geocaching and we have found over 9,000 from the Arctic Circle in the Northwest Territory to the jungles of Brazil to the tip of Newfoundland. Curious, why’d you pick that geocache? They’ve been many of the places you’ve traveled. We’re debating heading to the world gathering of geocachers, Geowoodstock in Kentucky this month on our way to Canada. Stay tuned
I only thought of it that morning and since it was next to our campground figured it would be a good start. Planned to do more but got started on editing and that takes a big bite out of my time. Look forward to doing more. You’ve certainly had some adventurous locations.
Geeocaching is a wonderful way to see things that you may not normally see. When we are on the road I always have a few in our GPSs, normally pretty easy ones to find, and I try to make them interesting ones with scenic overlooks, or some historical site nearby. Plus, when you stop at a rest stop you can usually find one there too.
Loved this week’s adventures-so much variety!! Thanks for identifying flowers. You never disappoint. Question: Since you were out for a week, didn’t you have to dump? I know you have small tanks like us. I’m thinking the boon-docking spots did not have pit toilets (?).
You guys need to figure out a way to meet up with fellow RUclips Rvers “Jimmy and Natalie”. They are just starting on their full-time RV adventures and share the same passions as you. I’m sure that once/if you do meet them that it will be a “Mutual Admiration Society”. I would bet that a RUclips episide of the meeting would generate a bunch of new subscribers.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopalong_Cassidy Filmed a lot of his movies in Alabama Hills! May want to go back to the museum and check out all those movies filmed there in case you see some ghosts!
I like your pants, even though you had them on backwards. I was wondering who makes them because I would like to buy some....they have a large pocket and look comfy....could you tell me the brand-thanks

How lucky for you. All my life I have wished I could live in that area. We're making up for it now.
Thank you for the video. I had to laugh at John’s right to ‘bare’ arms joke. 😂 Your choice of music was outstanding for this video.
Really enjoyed this video of my favorite part of California! I've camped at nearly all the spots shown in the last 17 years in my truck camper. Keep up the great videos. Safe travels.

Great video this week. Always, but I liked the music with this one. Safe Travels.
Alabama Hills and no arch hunting 🤯😔!! There are 70+ arches and so much fun to hunt for. There's a book in the Lone Pine museum to guide you.
We just didn’t have time but have been to a few.

Oh man that knot on your leg. Wow!
The rib hurt so sneezing was torture.
That was great history, I enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery as well. Cheers Judy from Australia
You kids pack a lot into three days. We're about to take off on an Ontario to BC trip in our PleasureWay Tofino!

The app is called "Seek." Yes, Mono Lake does usually get snow but by April, it's usually gone.

No. If we’re just driving through a patch of cold air, there is no need to winterize. Prolonged night time temperatures might warrant winterizing. We keep a thermometer under the van to give us a better indication of temperatures.

Thanks. Do you have a premium account?
@@FromShetoMe ... Yes I do. I have had one since 2009.
👍
Loved this week’s adventures-so much variety!! Thanks for identifying flowers. You never disappoint. Question: Since you were out for a week, didn’t you have to dump? I know you have small tanks like us. I’m thinking the boon-docking spots did not have pit toilets (?).
We were only out 4 nights/5 days so didn’t need to dump. But we could have at Tuttle creek as they opened it just before we left.
Aren’t you guys too old to be doing this hazardous hike ? Wait a minute …… you’re doing it !!!
🤣
Loved your Patagonia pant, even backwards 😂 can you share the style/name? Thank you xx from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Style 82020. They seem to run large as I got a small. Very thin material so should be good for summer.
Thank you, I really enjoy your video’s Debby and John!!!
Thanks for sharing. Any chance did you make it out to Travertine hot springs? I wonder if the road is open to hot springs.
We've actually not been there but it's probably open now.
I really enjoy them. Such a cute couple. Would love to meet them some time.
Enjoyed the video! What App did you use for plant identification?
It’s called Seek.
@@FromShetoMe Thank You
Oh, did you see Hoppy hiding while climbing around the Alabama Hills? 😉
Saw California Carlson and Topper
No. Who is hoppy?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopalong_Cassidy
Filmed a lot of his movies in Alabama Hills! May want to go back to the museum and check out all those movies filmed there in case you see some ghosts!
I like your pants, even though you had them on backwards. I was wondering who makes them because I would like to buy some....they have a large pocket and look comfy....could you tell me the brand-thanks
Patagonia Style #82020. Dry light weight which will make them perfect for summer. They seem to run large though.
Another great video, thank you. Can you tell us your flower identification app?
It’s called Seek.
QUESTION: What map book are you using?
It’s a book of tool maps for Inyo county. I got it at the visitor center in Lone Pine years ago.
John - what kind of hiking pants do you use??
Kuhl. He orders on line for the longer lengths.
