- In this video 5-minutes video we will learn how to wire high pressure sodium lamps using ballast, igniter and capacitors
We will hit the new connection with HID ballasts and electronics igniters, also we will learn how to connect the old connection with the magnetic ballast

I love the beautiful orange glow of the sodium vapor lights ✨️.
Me too 👍 thank you for your comment ❤️
Thanks for your sharing it with us. This is a great tutorial and very informative.
You're welcome 😊🙏
Simple and very informative! Thx man 😊
Thank you for your support 🙏❤️
Good stuff I love how you explained it with explaining what the part IS and it's FUNCTION. Man I ask some journeymen or master Electricians and they get all pissed off like I'm testing them bro in just trying to learn. Lolol 😢
Thank you for your support ❤️🙏 if you need any help just ask
very useful. thank you sir.
You're welcome 😊🙏
Thanks. What happens if you run the HPSodium bulb slightly under its rated voltage. I have a choke ballast for 240 V and our supply is 208 V. So the voltage across the bulb is almost 10% lower. Will the bulb last longer or lasts less
As said in the video, the capacitor is optional... It's function is to adjust the 'power factor' if this is not done you will have a higher electricity bill for running the same lamp with no extra light output , perhaps about 20% higher I think ?
very good, this is right, maybe capacitor optional but it's important for improving power factor
It would have been nice if you linked the products that you spoke about in the description below
Sure we will take that into consideration, thank you 😊🙏
Great 👌
Thank you
Can you run 2 lights/lamps of one ballast and is there away to bring down power usage even more making them more efficient in power consumption.
can we use capacitor only instead of ballast and iginator?
Great 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you 😊
Nice video! Please make video about " how to wire emergency Fluorscent lightings with battery 2x36W "
Thank you, sure we will post a video about it in the future, just make sure to hit the notification button to see our new videos
@@electricalengineeringplane6620 thanks, i hit, im waiting for your new videos
@@seablue1085 thank you really for your support, stay tuned
@@seablue1085 it's easy. Wire L1 to live and L2 to switched live.
Hello friend, I need to light a 2500w power HMI (discharge) lamp, thank you very much I hope your help.
How do I choose the correct capacitor and ignitor for the output lamp wattage?
Thank you
You're welcome ❤️
👌👌
Thank you 😊

Thank you 😊
Hello i have a high pressure sodium lamp. i can't use it anymore because if i put a new bulb it blow the bulb. can u tell me what is the reason of burning out the bulb?
you have mention lamp and bulb which are the same?? do you mean with lamp the complete fixture?!
hi. what causes the bulb keep dying. after changing to new one?
You can check the ignitor
🤩
Thank you 😊❤️
In the explanation you mixed up X2 and x3
my spotlight blackout when turned on, what is the cause?
You can check the ignitor
Could you add a dimmer?
It's not a good idea because it lower the efficiency but in case you need that you have to buy a special ballast
Thank you!
What if the supply is interchange,,the live became neutral and vive versa,,s
Thank you for this question,It will work in both directions
Thank you very much sir,,💕
@@h.talliswell2897 you're welcome 😊🙏
how do I know what capacitor size to use?
For 400watt HPS lamp you will buy cap/hps400 ,, for 1000watt HPS lamp you will buy cap/hps1000
Size of capacitance for cap/hps400 is 55 microfarad
i've opened up a lamp. all i see is bulb, ballast & capacitor. no ignitor. is it normal or what? please somebody help me. i'm really sure its capacitor, not ignitor cause it written 25nano farad there.
The ballast could be electronic ballast which have both ballast and ignitor in the same case
@@electricalengineeringplane6620 owh thanks sir for the info
Can't you do it oly with the ballast and the lamp?
Thank you for your question, but the answer is no ,you have to use ignitor which works as a starter for starting the lamp
