My ancestry has many ties to Long Island. One end was the Hampton's with the Lyon Gardiner who's Grand Daughter marries a Mulford and the other end of Long Island with the Dutch where The Vandervorts were early settlers. I really appreciated this video and history of the Gardiner Family. New Netherlands in 1624, the Gardiner's in 1639. Keep up the good work
I am also a descendant of Lion Gardiner. His daughter Elizabeth is the mother of my grandmother , his granddaughter Elizabeth Howell, married Jacobus Loper who I’m a descendant of
I am here as a descendant. Our link broke when David Lion Gardiner (middle son son of Jeremiah Gardiner) dropped the i with his death certificate naming him David Gardner. His son was named Lyon Gardner III whom in turn named his son Jeramia Gardner. Our conjecture is that it’s possible David Lion Gardiner may have taken the side of the colonies and Americanized the spelling. This is all on my dads side which all originate in Ny with ancestry in the areas Sarah Gardiner also acquired. Pretty cool, my son has mapped it all out
I'm here because I was randomly looking at the eastern shore of the USA (on Google Earth) and happened to notice Gardiner Island. It immediately caught my eye and I had to know more about the place :)
