- In this video, I go over a highly requested topic - my current setup and build out of the Super Pacific X1. This build accelerated pretty quickly in just a few months and I couldn't be more thrilled with how everything has turned out. Still some minor things I will be working to change, but overall, extremely pleased with the turn out. Also, sorry for the lack of videos - with a big move coming up, lots of travel, and training...my plate has been full. More videos to come though!

Stumbled on your channel tonight Hunter. Totally cool. I did a lot of climbing in my younger years in New Hampshire and Maine, and I always had a fascination with the people who worked and lived in the fire lookout towers. Of course, they were all abandoned, and in ill repair, by the time I started visiting them in the 1980's, but it got me to the top of the mountain just to see them. As a child in the early 60's, my father would drive past one occasionally, and I always wondered about the people who worked in the towers. Great video, thanks!
Thank you Bruce! Glad you found the channel. The two firetower visits this year were amazing and can't wait to get back to see more next summer!
I will admit this is my 10th time watching this video in its entirety, getting a camper soon and just looking for ideas. Cheers!
@@4WDisLife haha love it! Let me know if you have questions on any of the add ons or products 🤟🏽
Looking into getting an OVRLND or X1 and this video was SO detailed and helpful, thank you!
Glad to hear! I highly recommend going to an expo or seeing whatever one you want in person before. It’s super helpful just to see construction and get a feel of whatever camper you go with.
X1 for the WIN! Love the SuperPacific. Great Video, Brother! Appreciate the pov walkthrough. Outstanding build. I dig your style, and your future possibilities. Good to know about the Anker. I've just jumped into the EcoFlow world, seems very promising. Good call on going heated lithium batteries. AGM is great for just a starter battery.
I just put on some drip covers for the corners. looking forward to less drips on the windows, hahah. Probably the only "neg" on the X!.
Keep on Campin on! Take care and be well
@@tribalsean thanks for the kind words! Loving my x1 and since posting this, I am close to closing in on 80 total nights for 2024 already. Crazy to say, but I’ll for sure hit 100 nights this year!
Nice video, how do you fasten the solar panels? Thanks
Thanks for the overview of the build and the Super Pacific! Very nice build! Curious to see how the below zero camping goes with the Super Pacific insulation pack. Always enjoy your content.
Thank you! And I’m excited as well. From what I’ve heard, the insulation kit makes a big difference.
I love you set up. I end up going with a Harker Outdoors Exo because I loved their Dirt Circuit power system with solar. So convenient
Heck yea! I don’t see too many Harkers out in the wild up in Montana. Glad to hear you’re loving it 🤟🏽
Great video! Love seeing the mods & gear!! Giving me plenty of ideas!! 💪🏻
Thanks man! 🙏🏽
There are two pass throughs on the upper portion of the cabside panel, perfect for coax
Thanks dude, great information.
@@randallharris3667 appreciate it!
Not what I expected regarding the pricing of the X1, but then again, I'm not that surprised.
Everything is costing more nowadays. The great thing is there are tons of options on the market now and offer something different for everyone. I encourage everyone to look up reviews and see the camper they want to buy in person though. Cheers!
Any chance you have a part #/build list on the diesel heater setup? Thanks!
@@maxarchambault2426 most of the parts used come with the heater itself. I did a build video on it awhile back and it’s on my channel as well 👌🏽
Would the Super Pacific storage bags work on a regular molle panel? Can’t find pictures of what the back side looks like.
The Velcro would be too wide to fit in a regular Molle panel imo.
Nice build and thanks for sharing. Would the roof gear storage from SP work with the gfc using the proprietary t-nuts? Was the driver side drawer layout to accommodate the diesel heater. I’ve read folks adding storage unit / drawers to the passenger side to balance the weight of the fuel tank.
Thank you!
You know, it likely would work because you can adjust it. The SP is slightly wider than the GFC but I see no reason why it wouldn't work on the GFC. Much cheaper than the VNCLR option people often buy as well.
The layout on the side is just how the Goose Gear came set up. It worked well because I have the diesel heater on the passenger side which is naturally where they tacoma cubby sits. Weight wise, yes it is slightly better to "balance" out the weight more on the passenger but many lift kits also help compensate for this now by adding a little bit of extra lift on the driver side.
Thanks appreciate that.
griots garage paper towel holders are magnetic
Can you still go to a drive through car wash with your solar and awning on the side? Thanks man. Nice set up
Don’t recommend it mainly because of the chemicals they also use. It can be really harsh on the exterior of any camper.
Just curious what your issue is with the color of the SP Insulation kit ? I have Nics bracket and will probably do an Espar install this fall. Thanks
Not a huge fan of the light white/grey they use. I have mentioned it would be awesome to have black or even a darker grey so it also doesn’t show dirt as much. It would also block out more light which is a personal preference I want.
Check out the lavaner heaters too. It’s the one I used and they also are water resistant.
Hey Hunter, I just picked up my Super Pacific a few days ago and i super stoked! I wanted to run my water setup in a similar way to yours. I was wondering what size Volie straps you used to secure the water jug to the molly panel. thanks!
Hey Sam!
I just updated the description with a link to the straps I used for mine. I used 2 of the 36in ones. Also, Blake sells great little 3D printed feet that help it stay in place and a bit higher on the molle panel. His Etsy is linked in the bio as well.
@@hunter_pauley Got them both ordered, thanks again! Sourcing lots of inspiration fom your build as i start on mine.
@@Sam-fc9if of course! Reach out if you have more questions.
Great info!
I’m not sure if you knew that Super Pacific states this on their FAQ page “We do not support the AluCab Shadow Awning due to the excessive weight it places at the rear of the camper.” I’m looking at the FSR 270° because of this.
Didn’t know this! Thanks for bringing it up!
Are you running the Animas by Sherpa as your roof rack?
Yes - this is the length for the GFC but I cut it to fit the Super Pacific. Sherpa does make a specific length for the SPs but this was an easier option vs paying the $400 for new sides/feet.
@@hunter_pauley Gotcha. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm putting a SP on a 4th gen and am having trouble figuring out a rack that will work bc Sherpa isn't planning on making those for the 4G until next year some time.
@@jaredropelato I would def wait if you can. I've seen folks fit the full rack but you have VERY little room. With how much the bed flexes off road, you'd hit for sure.
@@hunter_pauley Yeah, I think I will. Thanks! Cheers man.
Why are you thinking of getting rid of your Overland Pros awning?
There’s potential to work with Alucab. Nothing wrong with the Overland Pros at all. I even installed lights on the underside of the arms.
At times Do you find yourself missing the deluth trading co bag on your cab window?
Not at all. Like 30% of it I found unusable like the big long pocket.
I watched your video yesterday on about your Eco Flow power station, which one do you like better? Eco Flow or Anker?
Anker. The power ports all on the front of the power station and app its self is top notch.
This would save so much money over a micro camper but at the same time, my shoulders are shot and lifting our dog into the loft isn’t possible
My pup sleeps down below on a platform. Found he sleeps better down there and in the winter months dries off with the heater being below.
Thanks for the watch!
It is an okay setup but man this kit is so expensive, I went to an off-road trailer and glad I did, this is out of my budget range, but again nice setup
@@falconxvid that’s the beauty of choice. Trailer works well for you, not for me.
Glad you found the setup for you!
Thanks for the detailed tour. You have your set up dialed in! You also are a great inspiration to get out there. I am really working hard to get to a point like yours. (Planning to get a used 4Runner and have been making “test” car payments to myself, goal is for August/September). Question: I didn’t notice a readily available IFAK, is that inside the truck cab? Take care, and keep inspiring. -Chris⛰️🚙
Great platform to build on! You could do a great budget build and sleep inside if you really wanted to before doing a roof top tent even.
I have the medic kit inside the cab of the truck in the rear seat away. Great eye and question though!
@@hunter_pauleyThat’s the plan. Build it so I can sleep in the back, then get it kitted out to tackle medium difficult trails. (Cool trails in Utah, Missouri, Arkansas; Montana ;). Then expand to a RTT, especially if I can convince my wife to go with me!
