Win7 uses less RAM, you can uninstall the update which prevents using DRM protected software. Win10 comes with bloatware, DRM block and forces any update (even unwanted ones).

I still primarily use windows 7 out of choice, for productivity and gaming. I have no issues. Btw, the non-steam version of GTA IV doesn’t have any patches so its just better to run in under an older OS such as windows XP (which it was made for) if the later patches don’t do their job properly.

I got it on my dads old pc, I play all my childhood and just got gta 4 on it the map loaded after fixing it and I got the lowest rosulation, it might look a bit trash far away but it works good, it doesn't struggle it might look a bit trashy far away, playing this for the first time, it changed, im not as bored now.

i have this old Windows 7 visa from 2008, basically a 15 year old laptop. it was a gift i value and still use it for gaming these days, sadly gaming is only limited as my ram is just 2gb and it runs on intel 3, i only play csgo, left 4 dead 2, and alot of small requirements games, i even started playing games that was released from the 90s.

Test the Kamrui Mini PC from 2023. Great little thing for games that aren't too demanding I almost would bet money that it wouldn't have a problem running GTA 4 because it doesn't have a single issue running GTA 5 😉😉
