Aaron unboxes T-Mobile's HTC Wildfire S, a mid-range Android smartphone that was announced earlier in the year at Mobile World Congress. Replacing the original (and very popular) HTC Wildfire, specifications include a 600 MHz Qualcomm CPU, 3.2-inch display, 5-megapixel camera with flash, 1,230 mAh battery, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 2.1. It's available now for $79.99 (after mail-in rebate) on a two-year agreement, and is a good choice for a first-time smartphone user.

please Man , i just need to know , if i buy a wildfire s which made in china , iss it normal or this wildfire s is not original , problem is that it seems like this one which made in taiwan , but deffirence i would like to know betwen china and taiwan ? thksssssssss
Is there a Front-Facing Camera on this phone?
the one aaron has looks a bit longer than the european version, if i remember correctly, the bottom lip doesnt go round as much on the S as it ddi on the original, but this one seems to cover quite a bit on the front
will this be coming out for virgin mobile anytime soon?
Well mostly because It freezes on me a lot. Sometimes I put it on standby, then when I try to get it back on only the bottom menu buttons will light up, and it won't display anything just a black screen... When this happens you either pull the battery or it auto restarts itself.
Should i get the Desire instead of this?
which one is better is it chacha or wildfire s?
Does it come with facebook pre-installed?

ive just got the samsung, and it is perfect up to now. im happy with the display even though it is lesser resolution than the htc and it runst the few simple apps ive downloaded fine.

I was asking this same question a few weeks back as I wasn't sure which one to get. I ended up buying the explorer. Basically the main difference is that the wildfire s has a better camera with flash (5 mp) while the explorer has a 3 mp camera with no flash but on the other hand the explorer is faster in web browsing and stuff like that. with a smartphone I'm sure you will be using the internet way more than the camera and 3 mp is still quite good.

@Josee0726 they have made the g2 the evo shift the HTC merge the HTC tilt, tilt 2 , and touch pro just to name a few.

@WirelessHotShot It was just lagging a bit because it was a fresh boot, the CPU in this, for an entry level phone, is fine. It's the same one that was in the HTC Legend.
Plus it comes with the same Adreno 200 GPU seen on the first gen Snapdragon devices like the Desire/Nexus One, so will have decent grunt for gaming.

bought the phone today, pretty damn excited. Needed a new phone cause my samsung wave 252 sucks so much. Decided to get it because my friend dropped it down 3 flights of stairs and it survived...

Why would you want a 600mhz processor? As you can see by the video, it's pretty laggy. 1ghz at least and up should be in every phone.

Oh and the explorer dosen't come with earphones (at least mine did not), but no-one really uses the ones that come with the phone anyway. Hope I helped ;)

@jshcroweable i haven't bought many apps but when you click the buy button it comes up with how do you want to pay type things. i think you can use pay-pal but like like i said i haven't done it much. you do have to type in your credit card number and stuff like that but thats all the nfo i can give because i simply cant remember. you will just have to try it and find out. :)

@skymitch89 Actually not every one of them have a camera. Samsung and Nokia (at least) have very cheap models without a camera (for old people and children)

People on here in these comments seem not to get what the Wildfire S is, it's HTC ENTRY LEVEL ANDROID DEVICE. It's not supposed to be a dual-core toting, giant screen device.
You get what you pay for, and in this case, a solid Android experience for not much money.
