To counter the vocal “any change is a bad change” people: I like the new WinBox - the speed, the look(including dark mode) and of course, the native support(being a Linux and macOS user which doesn’t have Windows).
Yeah big changes always have a lot of commotion. I also plan on continuing to use Winbox v4 since it can only get better and we need to give MT all the feedback we can to keep seeing improvement :D
Isn't it the same idea as saving sessions in WinBox 3? It almost literally does the same thing, as far as I know… Granted the pull-down menu is nicer than a save and open dialogue box.
I`m testing V4 and i have to say, after using v3 for like 4 years, if they added dark mode and linux/mac native support to v3, there wouldn`t be a necessity for a V4.
I totally agree with you, I think I read on the forum post that v4 is made and maintained by MT themselves, where it seems like v3 might have some 3rd party support around it. So I guess they want to be able to add or fix things whenever needed and not have to wait/pay someone else to do it.
There is an industry demand for Network Engineers, regardless of you being Cisco, Juniper, HP, Huawei, Arista, MikroTik, W/E certified. Most skills are transferable. And yes there are many companies that use MikroTik and will want someone who has these certifications as well. I see that even in places like the UK there are many "altnets" that heavily lean into MikroTik or less expensive network equipment for connectivity. And if you live in a country like Brazil or Indonesia you may find even more use for a MikroTik cert than a Cisco one.
17:18 yeah, it looks clean, but im kinda disappointed they removed the colors... before i didnt have to read out each item, my brain just clicked "aha, red icon, thats wireguard"
new winbox is nice but some features from the old I hope they put it on the new winbox that is not beta. there is no windows selection at the left bottom part where you can switch between panes, you cannot drag columns of your liking, been using some tools like torch you cant make multiple panes, the color I hope they make some changes where it is pleasing to the eyes
Mikrotik excels on ROS but they are light years behind making something eye pleasing , specially the GUI. If you don't know how to make something eye candy HIRE somebody!!

I know I’ve asked before but is there much industry demand for Mikrotik network engineers?
I wish there was, I love working ( playing ) with them ❤ 👍

do u know what this does ---> *) added command line launch parameters ( WinBox )
It should be mentioned that legacy mode is all in clear text. It’s not secure what so ever
Long time winbox user... this is ugly.
@@samjamestv I am seeing a lot of people on the forums feel the same way.
@samjamestv The new winbox 4 is closer to WebFig , as they confirmed.
If you are not WebFig person winbox 4 is not for you (even for me :] )
