When I was younger, 10 and below, I used to be so confused that a wall of water can kill people. "Surely it just hurts a bit and then they swim to the top, or maybe they die because they're trapped in a building". Then I watched this film and I realised that every single object along the Tsunami's path becomes a life-threatening projectile: A pool-side tile, a parasol, shards of glass, a decorative rock, a branch or piece of wood, a brick, a rope, a metal fence, a toaster, a wooden fence, a bottle, clothes, a chair or a table, a car, a tin can, an aluminium can, a phone charging cable, a plant pot, a plate, a knife, a fork, a person.
I remember our school had a memorial service, because so many students had lost family members or didn't know if they were still alive. One of our teachers lost her husband and young son. Absolutely devastating.

Srin Nget because of sharp objects. The Tsunami carried a bunch of stuff like broken pots, tree branches/logs, etc. by jumping into the pool, the pool protected him from objects hitting him. However, I haven’t watched the movie so I didn’t really know if he survive that or not
The thing is: this shit happened. The movie was based off of the Belón Family in the legendary 2004 mega Tsunami. The Mother, Maria did exactly this, hang onto a tree for dear life screaming because she thought she lost her family. Lucus had jumped pool (which saved his life), and Enrique had been hanging onto his two youngest sons when the wave hit.
Happy Dude, a movie based on a history means it's a different story inspired on that history. This is not based, this is the actual history. Search the meaning of based instead of losing time with this useless discussion.

Wow this scene get me every time, first off, conveying the “motherly instinct” her thoughts first went to her boys... “Henry the boys.” She only had a few seconds and she gives her few seconds to think of her boys, not her self, then she takes the hit of the wave. Once she comes up and she starts screaming while holding on for dear life, another amazing shot. She is trying to survive while screaming in agony not just because of her own fear, but the fear for her family’s lives and not knowing if they are dead or alive. This movie always makes me cry. So unbelievable to think this happened. How terrifying for all those poor souls.
The thing is: this shit happened. The movie was based off of the Belón Family in the legendary 2004 mega Tsunami. The Mother, Maria did exactly this, hang onto a tree for dear life screaming because she thought she lost her family. Lucus had jumped pool (which saved his life), and Enrique had been hanging onto his two youngest sons when the wave hit.
girl1213 sorry this is late but, the tsunami in 2004 wasnt a mega tsunami
Yup
This is not based, this is the history
Happy No, this is supposed to be the actual history, not based on it, don't be stupid.

Sorry just had to get those thoughts out of my mind 😜
