      I stressed to my father back in 2016 that Trump voters were, in large part, voting AGAINST the mainstream media narrative and the "progressive media" agenda in general, far MORE than they were voting for Trump himself.
      ZERO mainstream media outlets or progressive analysts, and even very few conservative or moderate analysts seem to understand this (to this day!).
      For many Trump voters, it's about rebelling against the progressive agendas.

      Because a federal law preempts state laws. Yeah people take everything personal. As if putting either candidate down is a personal attack. When followers persalize themselves to anyone like that in a leadership position is never really a good thing. Its literally what cults do and its done on both sides. Opinions should never be up for debate. You just give each other your opinions and everyone conciders them. No one has a right to say your opinion is wrong. So i agree. We need more convo like this when it comes to politics. Its a great example of democracy respecting either others views. Everyone actually wants the same things but this whole infatuation with these two is whats gonna hurt us. Our primary system is set up to promote only two candidates, and those two candidates are chosen by the most extreme members of each party. The much larger middle of the electorate doesn't get involved in the party primary races. We should, though. We should either create and energetically back a moderate third party or actually become active the two we have to push back against the fringe cases.

    • @ClownCarCoup
      @ClownCarCoup 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@yengsabio5315 It’s not about Primaries as DiamondLil posits, its about the _structural design_ of our Electoral College (EC) system.
      To understand why the two-party system is so firmly entrenched in the United States, it’s important to understand how our elections work. The U.S. system of representation is based on who wins the most votes in each district, not necessarily a majority of votes cast. In addition, each distinct area-whether congressional district, state or, in the case of the presidency, the nation as a whole-is represented by a single member, rather than proportional representation based on the number of votes received. This is what allows a 2016 Trump presidency to win with fewer votes than their opponent.
      The tendency for such a winner-takes-all, single-member district system to promote a two-party organization is sometimes explained by a concept known as “Duverger’s law,” named after the French political scientist Maurice Duverger.

      Let’s not forget Hamas and their allies didn’t just torture, slaughter, and kidnap Israelis and Jews in Oct 7. People of other nationalities and religions were also their victims, including Arab Muslims who declared themselves brothers and sisters of the faith before they were deliberately murdered despite this.
      The Democrat party has chosen to align with Hamas and doesn’t call for them to release hostages and treat their own people and political opponents better.

    Abortion is Bizarre, and a Horrid Example of Emotional Voting. Consider the Women's Status and the Health Science at the time of RVW. Women needed Permission from a Husband or Farther for Birth Control. So birth control was not really available and lower classes often couldn't afford it. It took at least 2 + months to confirm pregnancy. Abortion was illegal, Now, you have so many Birth Control options, including injections so you don't have to remember to take the pill. You can stock pile morning after pills and later date termination pills. You can have an oops and take a morning after pill. You can confirm pregnancy almost immediately, there are pills available for a couple of months. So why does anyone need an abortion in the 5th+ month ? We have so much technology and find most severe defects early; And should termination need to be available due to life of mother, its available, and wouldn't be an issue if the Progressives would get off the Abortion ON Demand for Any Reason until Birth, the whole conversation would die down. Currently it is a fight that the democrats will keep rolling, people get caught up in the argument in lieu of the rationally of how Abortion Needs have Changed.

That’s OK because when he doesn’t win you have a ‘second preference’ vote that counts towards actual candidates like a Trump or a Biden. In America you don’t have that so it is 100% meaningless to vote for a third party or person that can’t win. Anyone voting for a Kennedy hoping to impress a poor vote-counter with their bravado, does so at the risk of letting the worst ‘actual’ candidate win.

    If you were an immigrant 30 years ago; you would have to learn a minimum of English, you would have to learn and understand the constitution by heart, you would have to put your kids in local schools straight away, so that they assimilated quickly... why would they be happy that an open border policy makes a farce of what they had to go through to obtain the 'green card' or American Citizenship... When the British Empire colonised India, there was no Pakistan. The British, unlike the French, mainly occupied non main religions African countries, and Christians were busy trying to convert them to Christ, or the Indians, who were in majority of the peaceful and industrious Sikhs Tribes... The French colonised Muslim countries and have had to deal with assimilation ever since, as for America, they didn't colonise- just interfered as the World's police in every scenario that didn't benefit them. We can say that the American bases dotted around the world is a type of coloniasm...what do you think?

      America interfered with Nazi Germany gobbling up Europe. America interfered with Japanese Imperial aggression all over the Western Pacific. Then rebuilt both Germany and Japan. Did those episodes benefit America primarily?
      America interfered with the USSR not gobbling up Western Europe for over 40 years while the nations they protected did not lift a finger as far as payment. I don't know what your definition of colonialism is, but America has done a lot of interfering where other countries and their people benefitted, not so much Americans.

      @warnerchandler9826 yes you are right of course. However, the strong global leaders then have nothing in common with the milksoft leaders of post USSR... and if anyone can just come in a country illegally and benefit straight away from the host country's social system, in front of legal immigrants going through the process, then there is no incentive to be legal. If any biological man can claim to be a women, along with all the hard fought rights of women, then that is madness. In my view, America has declined terribly in the past 20 years. Can America be great again?

    How are Trump's NATO and Taiwan stances not on the top of people's minds? He has all but explicitly indicated he would abandon both. Happen to live in Taiwan, so this is of some particular concern to me, but please remember that all US power and economic well-being flows through the Pacific alliance system, which keeps peace through detterance. Trump undermines this a little more every day.

      You are uninformed. He didn't say he'll abandon NATO. He said all members have to pay to be in it and to be protected if needed. Is Taiwan in NATO?

    I think the panel missed a very important factor - who Trump picks as a running mate and how this impacts voting in key States.
