Before this third and final Ruby World Cup 2023, we had won both of our previous games by a single point, which is something that no nation, including South Africa, could have replicated.

Morale is so low in the country right now, we really needed this. This sport is a glue that brings the nation together. Our country may suck at a whole list of stuff, from keeping the lights on to civil services, but THIS is the one thing we are really world class at. We ARE the best team. Not because we are arrogant but because we set records, and never EVER give up. And the rest of the world fears us. That is why they boo us in the stadium because they KNOW we are the best and they want us eliminated so their own teams won't have to face us. In an interview one of the Kiwi team representatives even said, facing England would have been much easier because they are intimidated by the All Blacks team reputation. The Springboks are not. Not only are we not intimidated by them, but we relish winning them. They fear us. The team that is feared by the whole of the rest of the world, fears US! That deserves respect.

Man, that place had such an awesome vibe. You could tell everyone was having a blast during the finals and I'm stoked that we clinched our 4th World Cup victory. We came in with a rock solid game plan and it totally paid off. Our defense was on point. We owned the first half but the second half got a bit dicey. New Zealand really upped their game even with just 14 players and it looked like they might pull off an upset against us. But we held our ground and the match was super intense. It could've gone either way. Mad props to New Zealand; they're still top notch. They've got that flair and I gotta give them credit. 🔥🔥👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Siya Kolisi's tackle wasn't upgraded to a red because of one primary factor, this being the fact that the contact was shoulder to shoulder. Of course, shoulder contact is still considered a high tackle, just not nearly as dangerous as Sam Cane's tackle (the all black player that got a red card) which was shoulder to head. If Sam Cane hadn't made that tackle, I suspect New Zealand would've added a fourth rugby world cup to their name.
For a future video, I'd recommend Jonah Lomu highlights, arguably the goat of rugby, certainly the best winger of all time. I don't want to give to much away but i'd love to see you react to this.
To answer one of your questions, why did the south african winger, Cheslin Kolbe get the yellow card in the final 10 minutes? There's a rule that you can't knock the ball on if it's considered on purpose, or in this case go for the ball when you have no chance of catching it.

  • @davidnel957

The Rugby Law that gave Kolbe a yellow card was that "deliberately knocked the ball forward". Its a tough rule but it makes the game interesting and cuts out any unsporting or ugly slowing down of the game.
No matter what, if you put one hand out without a "realistic chance of catching it", its 10 minutes in the sin bin for you!
As a young South African about to start traveling a bit of the world while I can, I believe your chanel will be a special way for me to see my beautiful country through the eyes of someone blessed to be experiencing it for the first time!
Glad to be a part of your family. Keep up all the great content! Particularly the rugby reactions, I'm sure with this RWC win the interest for the sport will only increase.

About Kolby getting a yellow card it was because you not allowed to intercept a ball by slapping it away (unless its backwads towards your own players).
They introduced that rule to have better continuality in the game.

  • @bitsy6026
    @bitsy6026 8 месяцев назад +3

The yellow card for hitting the ball is normally ruled as intentional. He wasn't trying to catch the ball, rather just deflecting the ball when you have no chance of gaining possession. Hope that helps

Rugby players need the protection because there is no protective gear like the NFL. I think you are going to be really great with the game bro. I also agree with your observation on the Siya yellow card. Slightly harsh but its done to protect the players. If we had lost, you would have experienced 60 million people in a depression. We South Africans are terrible losers. We really cant take a loss we all slumber in a state of perpertual depression but in the same vain we celebrate wins till kingdom come. The Kolbe yellow card was a very unfortunate thing, but credit to the ref, it was fair. The rules state that if a player knocks-on the ball (meaning the ball goes forward in play, with contact with another player or the ground) and the player didn't make an attempt to catch it (like an interception), the a yellow card of foul play is given. Unfortunately, Kolbe meant no ill intent but rules are rules. Shout-out to Cheslin Kolbe though, a mega match from him ...and it was his birthday that day!!!

Do yourself a favor and get down to the Cap Town rugby sevens this weekend 9 and 10 December. Great party atmosphere. South Africa's sevens team, the Blitzboks won last week's tournament in Dubai and have been drawn in the same pool as the USA this weekend. You will really enjoy it.

Love your enthusiasm and support for our boys brother, they work their whole lives away and sacrifice literally everything to make it this far (to be fair all rugby players do that and every other professional athlete) would love to have a chat with you if you ever have the chance. I can answer all of your questions about the sport but mostly would just like a bro I can talk rugby with 😂 cheers brother thanks for the content, keep it up!

The fourth (Colbe) was for a deliberate knock-on.
It is deemed a cynical play, in that if the ball was passed on to the next NZ player, they had a great chance of scoring a try due to the numbers in overlap.
What he should have done was hold on to the ball (intercept), as that is deemed a legitimate play.

The final fell on Kolbe's 30th birthday. His yellow card came in the 73rd minute for an intentional knock down of a pass

It's a professional foul, it disrupts the motion of the game if everyone just knocks the ball out of play or knocks it forward. There has to be genuine reach by the player with two hands for it not be considered a professional/intentional foul. Cheslin took one for the team basically lol cause if that pass went thru, we lose😂

Did you notice that our commentators do not mention statistics and previous plays, wins, last time this and that? Trevor Noah made a video comparing ours vs US announcers.

I don't know if anyone has responded to your question at the 6:40 mark? That's the equivalent of pass interference in American Football. In football you can't interfere with the pass by making contact with the wide receiver (but you can face the QB and intercept the pass), In rugby you can't interfere with a pass by batting the ball forward when one of the offensive players passes to his teammate but you are allowed to hit the ball backwards or intercept it by holding onto the ball.

The yellow card for Cheslin Kolbe was because of a deliberate knockdown, when going for an interception you have to actually go for the ball with intent, in this case Kolbe did not go for the ball with that intent and thats why he was sent off.

You probably got tins 9f these comments but the reason given for Kolbe's yellow was that he intentionally knocked it on which is purposefully intefering with the flow of the game.
