Thank you Fr. Mike for this sermon. its not an easy thing to take in , that sin has consequences. and its not easy to do penance for our enemies, especially when a pain is involved. often resentment builds up. Greetings from Ireland. God bless.

Reconciliation is the most significant sacrament that Jesus gave us. Sin is all around us, and we fall. Thank you, Father Mike, for your words of encouragement, and call to this sacrament.

Thank you for calling out the first reading Father. The story is so rich. Yesterday’s reading ended with Ahab going “down” to vineyard. Going down in the Bible seems to be going away from God. But today Ahab redeems himself by putting on sackcloth and ashes. I am so happy that Jesus gave us the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Confession to help when we are trapped in our own sin.

Sin had consequences...but it humbles us and with true contrition brings us back to God.
Jesus is always waiting for us to turn from our sins and come back to Him.
Sacrament of Penance.....we are washed of all sin and made whole again.
Jesús is truly present on the confessional with the priest. I know that. Most beautiful sacrament goes hand and hand with Holy Communion. We are so loved by Out Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ... Son of God.
    Thankyou Father for reminding me.
    God be with you.
    Greetings from Canadá. ❤

During the early stages of developing the ministry I help found, Monicas HOPE, the Holy Spirit directed me to instruct the group to begin to pray for their enemies
The first person that came to my mind was Nancy Pelosi. The look on my prayer partners face was priceless! However, when we came back in 2 weeks, she said, "for the past 2 weeks, every time I prayed for Nancy Pelosi, all I could do was picture her on her little knees, at her first communion, receiving the Lord and how much he must miss her now. "
    THAT'S praying for your enemies!!!
Monicas HOPE and PRAY and NEVER give up!

What I don’t understand Father Micheal is why can Naman repent of his sin and have the consequences moved to his children? How can they repent of their fathers sin? There doesn’t seem like there is any justice in that. It’s like Job’s original family. They are all killed, what did they do?

Millions upon millions of innocent persons have been killed over the centuries as the result of others sin (i.e., war, Hitler, Stalin, etc.). What did they do? Sin creates lots of 'collateral damage'. All I have to do is look at my own sin and see the damage it has caused....... Lord Have Mercy on Me.
