PI NETWORK SUMMARY
Pi Network is an experiment to create the first digital cryptocurrency that can be mined on a mobile phone.
It is an attempt to create a decentralized open-source blockchain that is eco-friendly. It was created by three Stanford University graduates Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, Dr. Chengdiao Fan, and Vincent McPhillip.
Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, the head of technology, had previously co-founded Gameyola, a monetization and distribution platform for casual Flash games on social networks, and is the instructor of Stanford University’s first decentralized applications class; combining distributed systems and human-computer interaction to bring cryptocurrency to everyday people.
Vincent McPhillip, the head of the community, had also previously co-founded The Stanford Blockchain Collective, a cross-disciplinary student club across the engineering, business, and law schools.
Unlike bitcoin with its proof-of-work consensus protocol, Pi, the cryptocurrency generated by Pi Network miners as a reward for mobile activities performed to secure the blockchain, is built on the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP).
The Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) requires several nodes to cast ballots on transaction validity, an activity that requires less computing power compared to bitcoin's proof-of-work consensus protocol that depends on nodes that require lots of electricity which, consequently, has negative effects on the environment because of the carbon emissions that results from bitcoin mining.
In October 2019, just 7 months after launch, Pi Network recorded over 500,000 installs, with active users spread across 180 countries.
Pi Network is marketed as the first and only platform where you can earn a digital asset called Pi
Pi aims to allow everyday people from all walks of life to contribute to the security of the cryptocurrency and the success of its community. The team believes this meritocratic principle, as well as Pi’s inclusivity, is positioning it to become the world’s most widely used cryptocurrency.

People always say it’s ‘free and doesn’t take anything’ when on the App Store, it literally shows that they collect all of your information and identifiers in all of their apps, selling them to advertisers.
Pi uses a pyramid scheme for sure, but it's not harmful. You don't sign any contract, you don't spend money and actually I really liked how the founders were pretty clear about how this is NOT an easy way to become rich. They literally specify that it's a long term project and has a lot of chances to fail, and it all depends on us.
This is the main reason I joined, if the claimed to make us rich over night I would have brushed it off laughing.

It's not a harmfull system they have set up at all. What the video fails to realise is that the most valuable data a company wants to buy, is behavioural patterns. If you have data that this and this group of people have the highest return rate, and is actively revisiting the app to press a button, with a minor time descrepency every 24 hours, then this data can be sold for insanely huge sums. This is what Pi have made money on up until they started doing ads after every session. One ad impression doesn't make to much, but lets say 30% of the registered users have stuck around, that means 10m impressions daily on ads. This is still not a harmfull thing, but it sure is profitable. This is a fishy way to start off their venture, but not necesserily maliciously intended at all. I see Pi maybe having a future, if they can outcompete the already established coins and tokens, like Klever for example. It's gonna be exciting to see where it is in a year, but I don't have the higheset ambitions if im gonna be completely honest

The fact that your channel has ONLY pi network videos, simply empowers the IDEA it's a scam.
YES, it does not ask for money when you signup. However: IT DOES MAKE money from ads. 1 ad / day / user x 30M users. Do the math.
Withdrawal of "actual money" will be possible in PHASE3 of the project (so basically if PHASE3 is never coming ... ? ez money).
I am a software developer, and out of curiosity I DID CHECK their app. You must be a FOOL to believe your phone can mine cryptocurrencies with 1 click/day.

I've been mining this shite for a year now, their aim is to gather all your personal info, eg social media and phone number for verification, and now moving to main net KYC requires a photo ID-passport or driving licence. Its been a data harvesting exercise from the start incrementally fishing more and more personal information. Got kicked off chat for pointing this out.

Good video; Pi isn’t a scam, it’s an actual group of people with a ‘fan base’ trying to make it into real existence. Anyone who says it’s a scam or has negative things to say about it either just wants money or knows little to nothing about crypto, pi etc. A lot of people with the Pi app still ask questions when all the information is available to them on white paper and on the videos they put out.

I think pi is a very accessible. Like its right their on your Phone all u need to do is log into the app and u can pay from their to the online store or at your local store or just sell out some. It kinda feels like a cash app "if it gets worth anything" and i dont lose any time at all minning it so i feel like its worth it anyways even if it turnsout that it flopps.

There are ads in the app which makes the creators earn from it.
1. U didn't mentioned that Pi Network actually asks for real passport/(KYC) to be able to get money from this currency. That means it is NOT private & more likely NOT actually decentralized like other currency which gives you opportunity to do whatever you want with your crypto not asking any data from you. Here you've been told, that you will NOT get that currency and will NOT be able to do anything with it or you will lend your real personal data and you will be allowed. Which is not how private currencies works by it's idea. 2. There is NO ACTUAL MINING process going behind app user side, all that is a counter on (node?)server side that starts when you launching the app at 1st time which seems not really decentralized in it's idea. 3. This app asks your real phone number or Facebook to login. Not everyone trusts Facebook nowdays as well as it feels really strange of what purpose the real phone number serves for "crypto mining app". 4. Own Ideology, Big plans, Big promises, Pushing referral program. Since this app have all 4 first placed aspects to determine it as another scam pyramid, no need to be genius to do not trust it. Oh, Pi Network have 3 very racial differently CEOs who have some drama within which been thrown into public while already had solid investments shares. Now its clearly looks like a setup.

And one someone forgets to hit the mining icon I first text wait one minute then call and If I get voice mail I threatened them, then wait another minute then I'll drive to their front house start pounding on the front door scream at anyone who's there until they start mining I won't leave them alone. It's a very interesting app in that it seems like it would be a scam, or an easy way for these students to collect some ad revenue. Like you said, it isn't a crazy amout but it's still possible. Once it goes live all they would have to do is slowly let it die and walk away with the ad money saying "Oh well guys, we tried."

There are way too many people on the network, way too many apps and things being developed on the network, the ad money is nothing compared to a value 24million person, ACTUAL HUMAN person network has. You simply have to verify transactions and have ledgers which Pi Network will have. Pi intends to have a marketplace where you can make transactions with Pi. Pi Network isn't a pump and dump scheme either. There has been far too much work put into Pi for it to be such. The ad profits the core team is making are just what they need to get paid to work on Pi. You can literally turn off ads. I see nothing scammy.
