These Fox Widescreen tapes were actually sourced directly from the laserdisc versions, which is why they look so good. I actually own the Speed and The Abyss WS tapes.

Weird for the original trailer they use the 1981 logo, but when it was theatrical released they use the newer logo, the last film to use the 1981 logo was Airheads which came out a few weeks after this movie
