    Nice review! Irish Ale is a very nice colour. I have a USA Legacy in ruby red but I'm thinking of a surf green tribute for gigging. They sound real good. But I'm also thinking of their new Doheny line

      Haven't tried a Doheny, but I have a couple ASATs and they are great. G and L makes good stuff!

    Thanks, I saw another review but it was a fullerton model made in USA the review was by premiere guitar with John Bollinger who as you probably know is a great guitarist. the tremolo system is the same though I believe. He was also playing the Doheny. Jazzmaster version. and the tuning came back perfect after tremolo use. there was no editing. Those guitars are plek'd also. I don't think the indionesian made ones are but I'm not spending 1500 any way. I'm interested in this model. My concern is the tremolo though because I'm not a tremolo guy either but in my older years i want one and don't want to have to have to mess with paying for a set up. i do have basic knowledge and know how to intonate a guitar. thanks for the review. Let us know if you figure out why it's coming back sharp. My guess is the springs are a bit to tight if it is coming back sharp. Easy adjustment under that back plate. Just loosen those two screws a quarter turn on that block and try again until you get it. Sounds like it is very close already.

      Thanks for this response! I think I will take this guitar in for a setup from someone who knows trem systems better than I do. It would be cool to have at least one guitar with a usable floating trem. I'll report back after that.

    If I want to replace bridge pickup for mini humbaker (size as single coil) , what model you can suggest please? Thanks

    • @barthydemusic
      @barthydemusic  2 месяца назад

      I actually did that on my Fender Strat, and it would work on the G & L just as well. I swapped in a Seymour Duncan Lil '59, and I love it. It balances in volume quite well with the single coils.

      @@barthydemusic in position 2 it is humbaker + middle or split humbaker +middle?

    • @barthydemusic
      @barthydemusic  2 месяца назад

      @@alexgochman6654 The Lil' 59 doesn't have 4-conductor wiring, so as far as I know you can't split the coils. It definitely gets some of that position 2 quack, though!

    Blackie was legendary and a parts mutt
    SRV number 1 was a parts mutt
    EVH frankie a parts mutt.
    You dont need big money to become a legend. You need talent and that is God given and made better thru practice.
    A custom shop 6k dollar guitar wont make you better or write hit songs.

    what effect you use in order it can sound straty in clean as in this video?

    • @barthydemusic
      @barthydemusic  3 года назад +1

      I mostly just turned off the distortion on my little practice amp, and added some reverb. This guitar has low output alnico single coil pickups, so clean sounds are really what it does best.

      @@barthydemusic what amp you use?

    • @barthydemusic
      @barthydemusic  3 года назад

      For that video I used a cheap Crate practice amp called a GFX15. It’s the only amp I have here at the house that isn’t too loud to talk over! And it sounds pretty good. I’m working on improving the sound of my videos, though, so I’ll probably end up using something different.

    I have a G&L legacy and love the sound of the guitar, but it weighs 10 pounds, a back breaker, at least for me, I love G&Ls and the quality is awesome.

    • @barthydemusic

      Mine is a little on the heavy side as well. I tend to feel better playing a guitar in the 7 pound range these days.

    When you play on clean tone the base should be off?

    • @barthydemusic
      @barthydemusic  3 года назад +1

      For my taste the bass usually needs to rolled off when you have a dirty tone, especially if the dirt is coming from a cranked tube amp rather than a pedal
