Opie was nothing more than a program director who hung out with the comics. I swear there were countless times when Ant would be cracking up Patrice/Norton and then you’d hear “hey we gotta go to the phones Rob in Albany what’s up?” And the momentum was just killed
I personally like the fact that Opie took that shit seriously. I know all of the cool kids love to destroy him at every turn, but he cared about that show. He made that radio battle feel real and gave that sense to listeners. Made it a lot of fun. All of the main players on both shows are rich, not sure how many would be willing to put their money where their mouth is and throw down for their show. It's a shame that two guys that accomplished so much and entertained so many can't get on the same page.
bits he could relate to he spread that out til it was dead, bits he couldn't he'd sometimes kill it before it got truly started. sometimes he did a good job mediating an controlling the chaos but in the later days it was brutal.
Because of Opie's track record and his inability to take jokes or criticism, I highly doubt Ant or Jim would even want to work with Opie again. Also, and I don't know him personally, but I honestly think Opie's ego is so fragile, that he could never reunite with Ant on anybody else's terms but his own. That's just my opinion
@@WoahLookAtThatFreak Opie has a ton of resentment but I genuinely think much of it is valid even if some is ego crap. He took it personally seeing Ant (his former best friend) bond with Jimmy (who always hung out with Opie before turning to Ant) and see "his show" drift away from him and dealing with all the shit talking about him from fans when he made the show work. People don't understand Opie was the one who did all the prep, scheduling, had an office, and was the boss. Ant and Jim would just show up and be funny. They made the show obviously but it couldn't work without Opie and it explains why Ant and Jim even on Compound together just feels so far and away from the magic and comedy that O&A was. Keith offered like half of Compound Media to Opie at least twice. Even they know having Opie back with Ant would be huge for everyone involved and nobody has to like each other either. Jimmy, Keith, Ant, etc. would do it for the money but the problem is Opie is very wealthy and doesn't need the money. Ant is worth a few million, most of it in his mansion, but Opie is worth well over $10 million and has multiple properties and giant bank accounts. All he wants to do is hang out on the beach with his family. So I think Opie doesn't give a shit and doesn't want the stress and possible problems that could come with working with Ant again. It sucks but I call bullshit on Ant's story about Opie not wanting to meet up at a restaurant to talk things out. Opie said it was his idea to meet up for a beer and talk but Ant insisted on doing it on-air which likely pissed Opie off. That's what I heard. I don't know why Ant is saying Opie didn't want to meet at all. Either way I think O&A is done forever just because Opie is a family man, he's already wealthy, he's basically retired, and over it.
their voices really contrasted well together like peanut butter and jelly Madden and Summerall esque but of course Anthony Cumia really carried the show
I never liked O&A. Tried listening a few times but something just put me off it. Later on when they broke up I started listening to their solo stuff and realized that I actually liked Anthony but couldn't stand Opie. Cumia really is a talented funny guy, he's got his quirks but that's part of the package. Bland Opie was carried by Anthony who is better off without him. Maybe it would generate some buzz for them to work together again but personally, I'd rather Anthony stayed solo.
I hope he fixed the nose. It looks terrible. Arty has the money so do it. Stop punishing yourself for being an addict. SCARELET LETTER get rid of it. I am 23 years sober from dope and I did the same thing. I punished and segregated myself out of shame and just being pissed at myself. STOP IT ARTY fix the nose if you haven't
Anthony busted Howard’s chops but it was all in good fun and to play up the show rivalry for the listeners. He respects Howard. Opie was the one who was obsessed with Howard it got really creepy.
@@ShinRyojin Everyone knew it. Even that pornstar that they made cry, Shauna Lenee. She knew exactly to bring up Howard on her "response video." Opie, Anthony and Jimmy were laughing at her while dissecting the video. And as soon as she brought up Howard and said that they'll never be like Howard Stern- Anthony and Jimmy didn't care, but you can tell the tone in Opie changed. That really ticked him off.
Artie lost alottttt of weight. And he has the zero genetic discipline. Which means it's been hard for him. Good for him. He looks happier healthier more at peace
O & A does not need to come back. For starters, Jim Norton has changed, Patrice is dead, and any comic that WOULD be good on O & A is too successful to want to do it. If you're that desperate for new shows, listen to The Bonfire with Big Jay Oakerson and Dan Soder.
You think Rich, bobby and Colin are too successful? Burr still brings up old O&a memories on his podcast so I’m sure he would atleast call in , Patrice was great but I’m sick of people thinking he was the only good guest on the show

Did Artie get plastic surgery? He looks Filipino.

Is that Artie fuckin Lange?!?!
Please God don't bring opie back.
Haven't seen Artie in 3 years. What the hell happened!!
Snorted glass and it destroyed nose. Heroin cocaine are helluva drugs. (In case anyone wondering still)
3:00 Hold up. I remember Anthony called in to Opie's show when Ppie left Jim in 2015. Weren't they speaking then?
That was just a bluff for the fans
Glad to see Artie looking well.... Now fix that shnoz

With a reconstructed nose Artie would look like Donofrio
Opie attempting to stay relevant after Anthony is the equivalent to Superman dying and Lois Lane trying to pick up the superhero mantle.
Lois was less of a passive aggressive biatch
Artie take a breath after you ask a question.

He should get a pair of those eyeglasses with the rubber nose. Seriously.

Arty needs to do a gofundme for nose reconstruction.
