Sleeves you literally made a video asking for a system like this last year. Did you really think the NHL dev team would initiate it in a positive way without destroying the game after last year? FC/FIFA has weekly rewards, a very rewarding XP path, daily craft able players and packs, objective packs etc and we get a weeks worth of bottom Tier rewards stretched out over 2 months 🤦♂️

That's what I said. Giving single mid 70a cards as tier rewards is insanely miserly. You could get more in a daily reward pack for doing nothing. XP rewards should be packs, coins, or 80+ ovr player items. It's absolutely embarrassing that I'm already missing the weekly rewards grind. But who would have ever imagined that EA would screw it up this badly?

Played fifa for the first time in 2024 (FC24) and was blown away. Not a huge soccer fan, but you get rewards for everything, and a progression ladder (xp path) and hundreds of objectives that give you stuff. Every day you're ripping packs. Every day.
I know you are big fan of fantasy event like most of us. I have big fear that there is no way f2p player can get hands on even one since there is really no time to stack anything. What thoughts?

I'll likely still stick to SB for full games. But the fact they're quick and fast makes it enjoyable to play

Could have just added a third “Competitive XP Path” for Rivals/SB and given out stuff like elite packs, jumbo elites, etc in there to boost rewards overall and it would have been awesome. • Wildcard XP Path for the current event • Competitive XP Path for weekly/bi-weekly good pack rewards to grind for • Common XP Path for the XP players and other goodies (vanity and other junk)

I’ve played NHL HUT for about 6 years straight now and I’m more than a casual in this game I’m able to put a decent amount of time in, And this game in terms of HUT is 100% worse than NHL 22 and 22 was BAD when it came to pay to win… Watch, In 3 months when all the pay to win players have 90+ overall cards you will have a team with max 87 overalls as a free to play player, Then you will see how fucked up this rewards system is.

HUT has gone to absolutely shit!… Sleeves PLEASE TALK TO EA… I remember last year they didn’t have weekly rewards fully, They only had “Squad Battles” collectibles and we would get a pack we wanted… The community was not happy and they changed it… So please everyone shit on this game until they make the change we want, AND PLEASE SLEEVES, TALK TO EA. This is just horrible in my opinion ESPECIALLY for free to play players, We have been basically wiped out.
I actually didn't mind the mode collectibles as much as I thought I would. I hated the idea in the beginning but in the end all it did was give me more control over what packs I wanted to save for. We did get a LOT of packs last year...
But.... there actually is viable packs to buy. It's not just about pulling a specific card, it's about buying packs and taking those cards and putting towards card building packs to get you some ultimate great player. Greed is bad but if you think that EA doesn't know what they are doing, they absolutely do. The system is 100% based around getting people to open up their wallets and buy packs more than they did last year. With lesser rewards for grinding a ton, it will push people more towards spending real money in hopes of pulling better cards.
EA is so out of touch with what we are willing to put into a virtual hockey game. They keep asking for more to give less every year and at some point there needs to be pushback. I’m a big fan of free to play since it’s a video game at the end of the day. However, even the people willing to drop money are still getting ripped off based on value. They tried to worsen rivals/squad battles rewards last year and had to correct it. They better do the same this year.
Kind of hate how stuff is timed now. So much better when it’s not. Seems like everything they’ve changed in the past couple years, they’re going back on. Like packs went down a couple years ago and now they went back up. Really gives me no desire to play this year.

Well I have to say this is geared to trying to keep it as even as possible. If you want to pay to win it’s definitely shown in the store. Learn to play the game not play to get better cards. This actually makes me happy😅

From the xp seasons. The tier 5 reward . The nhl players boost pack. With 4 items. I pulled 84 mckinnon. Usually they are trash. Pleasantly surprised. Love the vids. Happy gaming.
I have to say playing someone with charged Mcdavid, hollogram Lemieux, hollogram Lindstrom, etc on day one was scary… but very rewarding when beating them nonetheless 😹 #paytoloose

HUT is yet again awful. Unless you open up your wallet or play the game as if it is your one and only job, you will be behind the 8 ball and playing against stacked teams every game in HUT Rivals/Champs just like it always has been. Disgusting. Wild Card has been a fun experience so maybe not all is bad. I can only hope they don't allow people to start substituting more and more better players as it would ruin the mode for people who can't keep up with the same level of players to substitute in.
Another problem that is happening quite frequently in chel is one team gets caught in a sync screen then the other team instantly wins the face off and are barrelling down on you just as your team is out of the sync screen. Yet another year of ea releasing a game half completed and charging a price of a AAA game!!! I mean they really can’t be all that useless right? The game is a rinse and repeat game with slight changes to only a few modes and the only thing that actually gets better each year that no one gives 2 fucks about is HUT’S card art and that’s shameful!!! I absolutely will never turn on hut ever again after last year and I hear this year is even worse for free to play!! EA are the kings of greed and people like myself life time supporters that grew up getting this game from Santa clause in their stockings and couldn’t wait for it are all but forgotten about as the pay to play micro transactions, battle passes and pure greed just has been far to much!! Well I have to say this is geared to trying to keep it as even as possible. If you want to pay to win it’s definitely shown in the store. Learn to play the game not play to get better cards. This actually makes me happy😅

From the xp seasons. The tier 5 reward . The nhl players boost pack. With 4 items. I pulled 84 mckinnon. Usually they are trash. Pleasantly surprised. Love the vids. Happy gaming.

HUT is yet again awful. Unless you open up your wallet or play the game as if it is your one and only job, you will be behind the 8 ball and playing against stacked teams every game in HUT Rivals/Champs just like it always has been. Disgusting. Wild Card has been a fun experience so maybe not all is bad. I can only hope they don't allow people to start substituting more and more better players as it would ruin the mode for people who can't keep up with the same level of players to substitute in.
Another problem that is happening quite frequently in chel is one team gets caught in a sync screen then the other team instantly wins the face off and are barrelling down on you just as your team is out of the sync screen. Yet another year of ea releasing a game half completed and charging a price of a AAA game!!! I mean they really can’t be all that useless right? The game is a rinse and repeat game with slight changes to only a few modes and the only thing that actually gets better each year that no one gives 2 fucks about is HUT’S card art and that’s shameful!!! I absolutely will never turn on hut ever again after last year and I hear this year is even worse for free to play!! EA are the kings of greed and people like myself life time supporters that grew up getting this game from Santa clause in their stockings and couldn’t wait for it are all but forgotten about as the pay to play micro transactions, battle passes and pure greed just has been far to much!! I have every single title since 1992 so I’m not just some guy who don’t know what he is talking about as I spent in the ballpark of 30,000 hours or more playing ea nhl in 32 years. I can’t stomach to play be a pro as it’s exactly the same story for years now. They refuse to bring back gm connected and are solely focus on taking kids parents money so the kids can start a gambling habit by ripping packs and not even know there engaging dopamine from gambling!!! What are the consequences later in life I wonder? What percentage will be addicted to VLT’S and do ea care? Absolutely not!! I myself am part to blame as I continue to add another copy of nhl each year but now I’m only playing chel clubs with friends and will not even open up hut or any other mode ever again!! Ea man up and put warnings on load-in screens to make kids aware of how this ripping packs with cash and especially with the odds you give them is a form of gambling!!!!!!! Hopefully someone sues them someday. 32 years of support and you all at ea can kiss my cracker ass.
