- We are moving right along on sunflower harvest! Got to combine along the neighbors (@grainbeltridge), knocked Doug's spout off, more awesome sunsets, and an early night because of the lack of wind. Not for long though! The wind brought the winter weather along promptly and we all froze the next day. We are over half way done!

I run 2 hanging bird feeders with the black oil sunflower seeds. 50lbs bags lasts about 10 days, depending on the weather.

Gosh watching the drone get wrecked by the trees is why I’m scared to get a drone😂
I’d recommend starting with a DJI mini 3 since they are cheaper and make sure you get the DJI care or whatever warranty they offer when you purchase it because they replace them for cheap when you crash them if you have that warranty! You would do great with a drone!!
I've never seen heads like that before. I usually just see guys use corn heads to run sunflowers.

It looks thin because the leaves have fallen off.
This was a very good crop, but like this other reply mentions, they do look very thin when the leaves fall off, and we plant them with the airseeder!

What happens to cause the spout to rip off the unloading auger?
We farm some hilly stuff, can be unanticipated areas that the auger dips down too far into the cart on the bows and the spout tears off

They definitely are worse some years than others, but there’s not a good way to monitor it to my knowledge!

What was wrong with your tractor
The lights didn’t work due to a bad wire that we couldn’t identify. The John Deere tech/ mechanic was able to find it and fix it!
