  • How to turn on EPR on ResMed AirSense 11. EPR (Expiratory Pressure Relief): EPR is a feature found in some CPAP machines, typically manufactured by ResMed. EPR allows the pressure to be reduced during exhalation, making it more comfortable for the user. This feature is designed to mimic the natural breathing pattern and can help users breathe more easily against the pressure.
If a CPAP machine has EPR, the user can usually adjust the EPR setting. The EPR setting controls how much the pressure is reduced during exhalation. It is often adjustable with three settings: off, full, or a specific level (e.g., 1, 2, or 3) depending on the machine model. The choice of setting is often based on individual comfort and the advice of a healthcare professional.

On my AirSense 11, I have set EPR to 3 with Ramp Only mode. BUT then I set the Ramp Start Pressure to equal my actual APAP Min Pressure (8) and set the Ramp Time to Auto. Because I prefer not having a Ramp. So this way I don't really have a Ramp pressure, instead I have a "Down-ramp EPR" until I fall asleep. 😊 I get the benefits of not having EPR for my treatment while still getting great comfort while awake.

I have a lot of trouble with air getting stuck or 'cpap belly', after changing EPR to 2 it def helped. But I'm on a base pressure of 7.
