I had this but didn’t have a cough at all.. One afternoon I couldn’t breath in with out a stabbing pain .went to hospital and the Doctor said I had a big spot on the left lung. Scared the hell out of me I’ll tell you. But no cough and the bottom of my left side ribs were sour to the touch.. No fever either.. crazy right . Thank god for CT scans and blood test.

I have sickle cell disease and was diagnosed with the community acquired pneumonia yesterday. Although I went Friday to the ER with severe body & chest pain they didn't find anything on the xray until I went back yesterday. I would've stayed in the hospital but with this coronavirus stuff going on I didn't feel like it was smart/safe to get exposed to that while fighting Pneumonia. My concerns are antibiotics and pain control. I'm already prescribed Roxy 15s for my sickle cell so the ER physician wrote for me to take Amoxicillin for the next 10 days. If I feel things getting worse I'm def going to go back immediately to the ER.
If I wasn't due for the vaccine until next year then how did I end up with Pneumonia?
Any suggestions to ease the pain other than my Roxy 15s? Is massaging the areas that have the pain safe??? I have it on both sides unfortunately.

Because mycoplasma don't have cell wall & penicillin G works on Penicillin binding protein that present in cell wall.

The target of Macrolide must be atypical pathogens and for the goal covering Anaerobic pathogens above the diaphragm, Clindamycin is prefer (because Metronidazole will misses actinomyces and microaerophilic streptococci). Am I right ?

Why are we performing LFTs in pneumonia patient?
I only get chest pain and sweat at night and also i don't feel hot even if it's too hot out side. It was 3 times when i went to hospital. And this time it came back. Am very scared is this normal. Please answer me. I work in Pharmacy where the IC is always on. That's why i do get several times pnenomia.

As an RT, I am wondering why a metabolic acidosis would be shown versus an acute resp. alkalosis(from increased resp. rate) or even a comp. reps acidosis after a few days of pneumonia?
I am no expert, but my guess would be looking at the chart for severe pneumonia according to CRUMB-65 and SMART COP along with the pathology that causes most severe types (e.g. aspiration pneumonia) that these patients would be septic to some degree. With that they are likely hypoxic and in shock before they are tachypnec. This would mean that the increased RR would be to compensate for the hypoxia causing lactic acid and acidosis, not the other way around. But i'm sure this doesn't apply to every patient and like I said, I am no expert by any means so this is just my best guess.
