True, but limiting the speed in case of tiredness is the first senseful thing to do so that in case a collision occurs, the damage is limited to a minimum.
It would be terrifying to be sitting looking at half the car crumpled in on you up to your face and being helpless to do a thing other than relying on the expertise of the workers to get you out 👀🙈Again great filming thankyou 👍
What a horrible situation to be in! You can see the difficulty in freeing the victim and knowing they are racing against the clock. I hope the accident victim survived.
I pray and hope he fully recovers. I was the second person to an accident like that, the Silverado cab was crushed into the box when the truck hit the tree, the engine was smoldering 10 feet passed the tree, victim dead at the scene. Happened 1 mile from my house.
It never ceases to amaze me, the diligence and patience these mechanics, er, um, firefighters! show. The appreciation I have for their multi-talents and strength never wavers. I hope I never need their help. xx
I’m not seeing reckless here. Possible dui or narc but likely just fell asleep. The obvious real wheels spinning for some period of time after the immediate impact would indicate unconsciousness at time of impact.
Very bad that he crashed for some reason we don't know, but that type of damage indicates a high speed impact. Very lucky that the truck did not catch fire. He would have been burned while alive and conscious.
Think how helpless the first responders would be when there was no such equipment. The modern hydraulic equipment is so valuable today saving countless life’s. Bravo to the pros of the rescue crews.
Oh wow!🙆🏽♀️ Another tree accident! It still baffles me how mangled a car becomes after crashing into a tree; well I guess we should avoid trees when driving 🤷🏽♀️ Thank God this man made it!🙏🏽 And hopefully didn’t have any bad internal injuries.
Can anybody tell me if there was a paramedic on the other side out of camera view during the entrapment? I couldn't see any cardiac monitor, fluids or even any large bore IV access on the patient, even when they wheeled him to the back of the ambulance. I understand Americans have different patient management guidelines than we do here in Australia, but it looked like the camera didn't pick up any active patient care while the fire crews did their bit.
sometimes it's just isn't possible to get an IV, or not enough room to put on a monitor...but, yea, an IV is usually started on these... the 2 units on scene are both medic units (T-1 and E-5)... the blue helmet guys are EMT's only and drive the ambulance.
@@davidmack4495 I was wondering who those people were standing near the stretchers. Seems odd from the POV of an Australian paramedic. We don't have EMT level, only advanced level paramedic or higher, so a stretcher in this picture will be from the vehicle of the crew at the car treating the patient. Sometimes you might have a critical care paramedic to administer ketamine, blood infusion, ultrasound or RSI a critical trauma patient, but usually it's a "one crew per patient" situation in most trauma or medical jobs where the patient is pretty stable; your "90% of the jobs".
The Chevy Avalanche was a unibody on frame hybrid that ended up being very flimsy which prompted Chevy to stop making it, I've seen them completely smashed up in collisions with regular cars.
Belfast, Northern Ireland? That's so terrible. I've worked in rural areas of Australia where we've had to travel 4 hours just to get to a patient. Worked in an area the size of Northern Ireland but with a population equal to three Belfast streets. Something that's the norm in an isolated part of the world shouldn't happen in a city.
@@mamamusky So was it bystanders with first aid who did that? That's actually a good idea for improvised spinal immobilization. We have a ambulance staffing crisis in Australia mainly due to COVID and believe NHS is in a similar situation.
Had to have been. The info says he fell asleep. I doubt your foot is going to push down the accelerator more 'if' you fell asleep. He had time to cook up that excuse while waiting for help. I am suspicious. He was going awfully fast.
I see accidents like this and wonder why isn't there a solid beam across the front of a car. I know about crumple zone and energy dissipation, but a solid beam would make the front subframe better able to compress and absorb spot impacts.
Yep, the people who are responsible for the designs are very well paid in order to attract the top people who have the relevant education and experience, and so these vehicles are designed by people with degrees in the field and years of doing nothing but research and development in this area, and you think you understand better than they do what would be more effective?
S/o to the first responders for not only knowing how to save lives, but being mechanical, chemical & any other type of engineers on the ready💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Crazy tree wrap. I am surprised the guy was awake and alive after that. Hope he recovers soon.
This poor man. You can just see the excruciating pain he is in. I hope he is able to have a fast and speedy recovery. These fireman do a great job! 💜🙏
Seriously? He was DRUNK. He deserves every bit of pain that he felt.
You sound so sweet and nice. Even if he was drunk, thank was nice of you to say. Have a wonderful day!
? Where did they say he was drunk? Caption said he fell asleep on his way home from work.
It's FIREFIGHTERS!!
He was lucky to make it out of that in one piece. Great job as usual to the rescue crew 👏👏 I hope he can recover ok.
He's very lucky to survive that crash. Great job 1st Responders. 👍👍👍
I know that mans pain. Most people never experience pain that bad and that's a good thing.
The last thing anyone needs after a long day at work is a painful car accident.... hope that guy's alright what a brutal wreck.
True, but limiting the speed in case of tiredness is the first senseful thing to do so that in case a collision occurs, the damage is limited to a minimum.
Excellent job on the responders part. This poor man. Unbelievable! 😢
I'm sorry he had to be pinned in his wrecked car for nearly an hour. Bless his heart. I hope he makes a full recovery.

Kudos to the First Responders. Great coverage.
The "JAWS OF LIFE" are EXACTLY that!!!! IF they can't get in and get someone out, the jaws of life will cut them out!!! A game changer of a tool!!!!
People don't need to leave ugly comments how would you feel if it was one of your loved ones ?
I don’t think there is enough said about our first responders!
I applaud your amazing work!

That tree in the engine compartment, he must have been hauling ass

I’m hoping he will be okay…Great work by the 1st responders & the Fire department and CHP! Subscribed 08/25/22 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It’s a Chevy Avalanche, not a Honda.
Saw the same thing right away too 😉
Exactly the first thing I noticed!
Yep at 2:27 you can see the name clear as day on the door.
And it’s important, why?
Who cares.
Honda makes Chevys
Amazing recovery! When it's not your time.. it's not your time!
We don't know if this driver had been reckless. At this point, all that matters is that he is injured and trapped. Thank you first responders.
Hear about this often when someone work long hour or travel long, it does happen when someone fall asleep while driving.
I’m not seeing reckless here. Possible dui or narc but likely just fell asleep. The obvious real wheels spinning for some period of time after the immediate impact would indicate unconsciousness at time of impact.

The whole steering rack and console is resting on him. That pressure on him chest I pray that there is no internal bleeding 🩸

Glad he is alive.. get well soon..

Does anybody have an update on him ?!
Do what you have to to STAY AWAKE !
If that's all that happened as someone said - He fell asleep.
Getting sleepy at the wheel is scary shit.
God bless our fireman. ❤
Prayers for the driver for a speedy recovery. 🙏
His Chevy Avalanche was hungry and tried to eat the tree. Guess it bit off more than it could chew though. 🤣
Nice job Anaheim Fire! Rough way to wake up
Nah just a normal day for them. It's their job.
I have nodded before, it's scary waking up to rumble strips.
Hope he gets better and some rest.

Ok, it's a driver until the person reaches the hospital. It's not a patient.
So very wrong. They become a patient the second a medical professional like a paramedic starts to assess or treat the patient.

Legend has it that tree is 12-0 with now 11 victories by way of KO.
Coming from someone who worked in tree trimming and removel. That fire Department really needs to sharpen their saw!!
My Gawd. The tree is INSIDE the cab of the truck with the man. What kind of speed would it take to do this?
Lots
The Chevy Avalanche was a unibody on frame hybrid that ended up being very flimsy which prompted Chevy to stop making it, I've seen them completely smashed up in collisions with regular cars.
So is the person a patient of any clinic or hospital? Or he is a passenger or driver of the wrecked vehicle.
Did you watch the video? The patient is the driver of the wrecked vehicle.
