For water pump replacement CHANGE YOUR OIL BEFORE YOU BLEED THE COOLING SYSTEM. I got the engine up to temp to bleed the system. Then I went and got the stuff for an oil change. I remove the oil cap and it was creamy white !!!!! I immediately drained the oil and it was also completely contaminated!!! I drained it changed the oil and filter. Ran it for 3 minutes. Drained it AGAIN STILL WHITE .
Went to the store got two more filters and more oil. Filled it again with new filter and 3/4 quart of trans fluid let it run for 15 minutes drained it and it got better. DRAINED SWAPPED FILTER AGAIN ran it for 10 minutes drained it and then did a final filter and fill. I have videos and photos of the whole ordeal. PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT START UNTIL YOU DRAIN OIL AND REPLACE FILTER. There was very light gold flake in the pan. Which means BEARING material. Final oil change I also added a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer. I hope I'm able to get some years out of the engine. Prices are going up for replacements and they all have higher mileage. $2500 for 140k mile replacement engines..

Honestly i like his method lol. Protecting that bolt from falling with a rag is a great insurence policy.

Anyone who has never done this be careful b/c tbe tensioner plunger is spring loaded n can and probably will shoot out n can go into engine. U are supposed to press the plunger piston in and secure it with a paper clip or something(new one comes with a pin,u can use it), then unbolt the tensioner n remove it. When installing put tensioner in with slack off that side(makes it easier, but not 100% necessary) tighten it to 75 inch lbs n then remove pin. Good luck!

why u need to press it in when the plunger is already out i rather follow this procedure /video put a cloth below so nothing will drop inside and everything will be fine..kodus to this guy its very detailed from start to finish

@@totoy7224 he did great but its much easier and if you do them very often with oily hands u will see how that piston wants to pop out and how much easier it is when the piston is locked down, especially when re-installing. Only stating the correct way, since people are usually watching to learn.

@@totoy7224 the vehicle he is wiron has a worn timing chain, thats why it has extra slack, if the chain had no wear or very little wear, then try reinstalling it without locking the plunger down. U will have an insanely hard time, if u even can get it in, same for removing it.

@@eminiscalperpro9729 why u need to lock the plunger when installing it when every single brand new plunger tensioner u bought from autoparts store has lock pin on it already cmon ..

@@totoy7224 exactly, b/c thats the correct way. He wasn't installing a new one n a lot of people reinstall the old one.

There's 2 block drains one is at the front of the timing cover kinda near n below water pump n close to thermostat, the other is behind a/c compressor(which is the one I used and still got water coming out when I removed the pump, so the one in front of engine is best, please research to find the exact location. Or put a clean collection under radiator drain cock n run engine until it has all pumped out. Make sure not to overheat engine when doing this, its easy, u can tell when its running out of water n cut off b4 engine temp goes up to 3/4 or so. Still a good idea to change oil, especially if u do get coolant spillage into oil b/c it will destroy the engine.
