So beautiful! I listen to it every evening now... I'm also impressed how understandable both singers pronounce the difficult German language.
A truly breathtaking piece of music and a wonderful performance!
One of my favourite pieces. Amazing how much Hugh Cutting sounds like Michael Chance (who features on a vintage recording of this piece I have).
I so love these rehearsal videos, seeing those wondrous voices come out of guys in tee shirts and button-downs.

It’s a recording session- check the microphones. Recording sessions are rarely in concert dress.

When I listened to the radio broadcast of a live concert with Gardiner, Bowman and Chance in 1981 I immediately fell in
love not only with this piece but with the voice of Michael Chance.
These two are wonderful beyond description! Deeply moving beauty. A precious gift! Thank you!!
Absolutely beautiful. Davies and Cutting are a perfect match in timbre and phrasing, and the viols are as wonderful as always. Just stunning. Can't wait to hear more.

Great combination: Cutting, Davis and Fretwork! Particularly, I love Iestyn Davis, he could sing everything thrown at him with amazing artistry. I'm still enjoying his Dowland recording with Th. Dunford!
