    Wow those are pretty boats under sail too. I see that they're a "class" of boats. I used to sail a Hobie 16 years ago but nothing as relaxing as these guys. Those things were WORK but the kids loved it. They didn't have daggerboards though so they didn't point very well but it didn't matter because they were FAST (which kinda made up for their lack of point). That is IF you could get through the day without dumping it.. which we rarely did! this was in the Jensen Beach, FL area. Like yesterday but in reality over 40 years have passed.

      @@leecowell8165 Thanks for sharing your Hobie memories … fast and fun must have been a blast for the kids … capsizes and all! My last boat was a Laser that I raced and capsizing was a regular occurrence. I’m probably tempting fate here but I’ve yet to capsize the Melonseed after 10 years of sailing Grenville … she does like a good breeze but is equally happy in light airs or under oars. Amazing how fast the decades slip by … hold fast!

      @@robhosailor Thanks so much … the conditions were light but that Melonseed skiff is always a pretty sight on the water!
