    This is amazing! I’m currently in the development stage of making my own Dark ride and these video tutorials are amazing to help understand how to work this. Keep up with the great work!

    Hey brett, here Anne Schepers again from Holland. I've been working on it for a while, and have come to the conclusion that it will work after all.
    I bought an outdated BERG go-kart, that is a Dutch brand, and I am going to convert it, and put a dc motor from Ali Express on it. I'm going to do this with a gear transmission with a chain. Then I weld a gear on the pedal shaft of the go-kart, and then I put that on the shaft of the go-kart. This saves me a lot of work, thinking out and welding, which I know little about anyway.
    For the rest of the track I will see if I can use pallet wood in the first instance, as we have an abundance of that anyway. Or secondly, cheap sheets of MDF that I can buy somewhere. Because the wood prices have risen enormously here in the Netherlands because of covid-19.
    Further in terms of technology I already had a 12v battery from another project of a raft with a motor. It has 73Ah and I think it can last a few hours XD 😝.
    Now I have a question, how did you do it regarding the control of the attraction, through an adapter and a few buttons you can send the signal wirelessly to the carts? I saw that you guys had soldered the signal per button on either side of the buttons on the module transmitter. Are there any irons on there that you soldered t to? Or did you solder them to the plus and minus of the buttons? And is there another way to buy a transmitter module where you can connect cables to it, without having to tear down the whole remote first, without knowing if it will work or not? I would hate to buy something that already works and have to adapt it to the system. It would be easier if the possibility already exists to solder wires on it.
    But otherwise a top project of yours, I get a lot of inspiration from it XD 😝 keep up the good work!
    And I thought you were working on a project that the power ran along the track? Because what I saw now is that t was just t old again. Or is this an in between project? I would love to hear from you guys. Greetings from the Netherlands. And hopefully I'll talk to you sometime. Anne Schepers.

      Hi there Anne, great to hear from you again! As far as the remote switch you would need to purchase a 12v RF remote switch if you are trying to use the same setup I made in the videos. I used a voltage meter switched to test continuity to find which connections on the switch connected when pressed, then soldered the wire connections to them. I wired them to lighted arcade switches. I'm not sure if there is a wired version available to purchase. I purchased my switch on eBay which has a 300 foot range. I have had very little time to continue development of my new ride system, so I decided to use my old system for this years attraction. I added on onboard audio system this year which has a triggerable MP3 player to play audio clips of the host giving the tour of the Manor and used an RFID switch with key FOBs along the track to trigger each section of audio on the MP3 player. I'll be sharing a video of how the did it as soon as I have some free time. I'm hoping that in the next 1-2 years I can get my new ride system running and make a new attraction! I can't wait to see your attraction!
      Brett

    The wooden track looks harder to make than the PVC pipe you had before. Is it worth the extra effort? Or don’t you know yet?

    • @pixelvisioner
      @pixelvisioner  3 года назад +1

      Yes , making the wood track is a bit more work, but by using the wood track it enables me to use the twin motor setup to pull the ride vehicle along the track rail which makes it capable of carrying more weight ( up to 500lbs), also I can run power to the two sides of the track.

    I am designing a plan to do this in my basement. It will go through the grand canyon, a jungle, underground caverns and maybe Disney's it's a small world, etc. I would like to make the lead vehicle pulling the other two, two person cars and I will drive the front one, but I still want it on a track so I dont have to steer it like yours. what do you recommend to accomplish this kind of tram?

    • @pixelvisioner
      @pixelvisioner  Год назад

      Hi there, glad to hear about your basement attraction! The first question I need to ask is what are you planning to use for the Lead vehicle? Second, what did you have in mind for power to run it(batteries/on track power?) Also, are the rear passengers small children/adults/mix of the 2? There are several types of track design you can use for this depending on your skill set/budget/layout.

      @@pixelvisioner Thanks Bret. I was thinking the lead vehicle to be electric powered as essentially a tow vehicle, but guided by a track, just because it sounded simpler to make? 3 total cars, lead and two getting towed which can carry two people each. Could be any mix of all adults or occassionally children as well. I have built several houses, restored several and workshops etc and done all the electrical and plumbing myself,so I have decent skill at it, but still dont want to get too deep into the woods in complications either. Is a track powered vehicle better? I dont want to need a person at the podium controlling the ride. I would rather control it on the ride in the lead vehicle.

      Okay, I understand where you are going here. If you want to keep it simple, I would suggest finding a mobility scooter that has a weight capacity of 600lbs and use the drive train, wheels/tires, electronics and batteries and build them into your lead vehicle. As far as a track design, you con use either track types that I have used , or have track sections made out of 1/4" steel and have the turns bent at a steel shop. As for tracking of the vehicles the design I used in my first or second ride vehicle designs should work fine.@@diyoregonnowtexas9202

    I would like a power rail system. without a computer. I therefore need a large 24v transformer, I pass the current through the rail, connect to the train, then it's the same diagram? controller then directly to the engine, is that it? I work on a carousel, there were 3 buttons for the 3 rail circuits

    • @pixelvisioner
      @pixelvisioner  2 года назад

      You will want to control the speed of the ride vehicle with a 24v speed control unit inside the ride vehicle. And to control the start and stop you could use a remote RF on/off switch like I used in my original ride vehicles and connect it between the motors and power leads from the pickup from the track. The same speed control I used will work as well. watch part 2 & 4 of my series "making a home made dark ride" I show both the speed control in episode 2 and the RF controller in episode 4. the wiring diagram I show on episode 2 will show how to connect both, with the power leads from the track to replace the batteries in the diagram. I hope that helps? let me know if you have any other questions!
