I haven't had any coding experience, I am interested in the field but I'm just worried it would be a lot to take in especially with no experience with the coding programs. In general, take some technical courses ahead of time with a focus on SQL and Python. Otherwise, it’s just a mindset shift. You got this!

However, I struggle in math and just wondering if it would be a stumbling block for me or how much math is involved? I also don't have a background in coding. Thanks, hope u see this :D

      Hello! Thank you so much for your comment. It’s so great that you’re thinking about this so early in your studies. If you have an interest, I would take a class or two and then decide. Generally, you will need to take some calculus/statistics class in terms of math and a few programming classes. You can definitely go into analytics even if math isn’t your strong suit, you can choose a job such as becoming a Visualization developer etc in the analytics field. If you find out you are not interested, you could pivot to more of the business side of things. How does that sound?

      Hi Sandro! As an example I studied psychology in undergrad and analytics in my masters program. It does help to have a foundational knowledge of math/programming to build upon. You don't have to be the "best" but having a base level of knowledge would set you up to a land a job where you can continue to grow. However, you can also specialize in being a data visualization developer in tableau or power bi and that wouldn't need as much of a math/programming knowledge.

    What’s the difference between data analyst and business analyst, and market research analyst, also are there BA jobs that require little to no coding?

    • @ArikaReddy
      @ArikaReddy  2 года назад

      Hi Zohaib! Thank you for your question. Data analyst/business analyst/ market research analyst could possibly be interrelated. There is no set way that the industry defines these jobs, it’s important to look at the job description to really figure out what the job encompasses. Generally, I’m talking about the analytics field here involving the use of data to gather insight. There are “business analyst” jobs in general that encompass serving the space between the client and technical people where you communicate within the two parties to move a project forward. This is what an IT business analyst might do, and it’s a bit different from the analytics field.

      1.) Do you see yourself pursuing a technical path with data or relying more on your communication/soft skills with project management?
      2.) What do you think your natural strengths are?
      3.)What do you see yourself doing after you graduate?
