    A good gelato above all is a gelato made with real ingredients rather than artificial flavours and colorants, so real pistacchios or hazelnuts, possibly toasted just before making the icescream, instead of ready made paste, fresh fruit. high quality fresh milk, cream and eggs instead of their powdered versions, real chocolate, possibly dark, and so on.

    • @JoeClement
      @JoeClement  5 месяцев назад

      I've heard that there is like a "shine" on the really artificially processed gelatos haha I'm not entirely sure if this is true but I'm lucky that I know a few reliable spots around where I frequently travel to in Abruzzo that make freshly made gelato each morning :)

    • @3r4kl3s
      @3r4kl3s 5 месяцев назад

      @@JoeClement I wouldn't know if you can spot artificial icecream just by looking at it but the difference in flavour is difficult to miss, so asking to sample some gelato should be sufficient. Btw, you can make gelato every morning and still use artificial flavours, powdered milk etc Icecream selling bars in italy have suppliers that carry those sort of artificial icecream bases too, if so inclined. It's more about the quality of ingredients than the mere freshness.

    • @AnneCaulder
      @AnneCaulder Месяц назад

      I have heard to stay away from the bright colors, as those are the artificial gelato.

    really nice video of my homeland ...however please refrain from using the word "remote" to describe it... it is inaccurate ...this is a region 2.5 hours drive from Rome a land of ancient history and proud people ... this is where you will find the "real" Italy ..we may not be the center of the world and as sophisticated and well known as other regions of Italy but we are a genuine, welcoming land ...I appreciate your video, if you did a bit more homework about the place and the people you intend to film I am sure the final product would benefit from it
    PS: in 88 AD the "remote" Penne (Pinna Vestinorum was the name at the time) with 600 soldiers sided the city of Rome in a war against other italic tribes of central Italy ....as reported by ancient greek historian Polybius ..not too sure what was happening that the same year in the part of Canada where you come from...

    • @JoeClement
      @JoeClement  2 года назад

      I actually mean remote in a positive way especially in comparison to all the very touristy places like Rome. I enjoy having authentic experiences when I travel and travelling around this region delivered in so many ways I absolutely loved my time there.
