Thanks for portraying this country in its best part. You probably picked the best roads for riding. There’s a lot more to explore! Looks like you had a great ride. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful video! Loved going on that ride with you guys. What beautiful countryside. I am researching living abroad right now. Portugal is at the top of my list and one of my worries is "where can I ride if I move abroad?" because I will give up a lot of things but riding can not be one of them. It's one of the best forms of therapy as I'm sure you already know. Lovely! Can't wait to check out your other adventures.🤙🏾
Hey, thanks for sharing! A nice little taster for our upcoming trip to Spain and Portugal in a couple of weeks. We're planning to ride the N222 and the Serra de Estrella. Cheers! 😊👍
Your gonna love it! Awesome pavement and stunning views. There’s some other great roads I didn’t hit in Serra da Estrela só tons to explore. It’s the right season
@@AmericanAbroad1 No, it is on the mainland, N2 starts in Chaves and ends in Faro (Algarve). There is a script. The biggest national road, like Route 66 but there is the size of our country, 739km, there is a lot of information on the internet.
Thanks for this nice video ! I haven't been on N222, but I'm just back from a road trip in southern Portugal on a Honda NX500. I confirm it's a fantastic country with good roads, beautiful landscapes, cheap accomodation and food and it's easy to rent good bikes in Lisbon ! Next time I'll head for the Douro valley and N222 !
Southern Portugal is epic also. They do lots of moto press tours there. I have riden down there several times and loved it. You won’t be disappointed with N222. Será da estrila is worth a ride through also. Stay safe out there!
Man you couldn’t have picked a better place to ride. I love the roads here. The restaurant we ate at was incredible and at a bargain price Tábua D'Aço - Actividades Hoteleiras, Lda. Hotel was - Plácido Hotel Douro Tabuaço. Decent digs for the price. Great breakfast. Enjoy your stay and let me know how you like it!
@@AmericanAbroad1 olá - just watching this again as I now live in northern Portugal with my Moto Guzzi so in a couple of days I will be doing this trip. I shall let you know how I get on - perhaps I should start my own RUclips channel....Hope you are keeping well and safe riding. Maf
@@thesmithsmaf YES! Start a channel bro. its such a great outlet. I love to see new people jump on the platform and add their own flavor or creativity. If you fo start and ever need help or want some tips, I am happy to help out and save you some time. A few small things took me forever to figure out. Enjoy the ride! See you on the pavement!
@@AmericanAbroad1 I wish🙂. Maybe one day... Even though I'm a Citizen, I never lived in this beautiful country. As for my trip in 2022, It was the first day of 11 days trip. I left Porto early in the morning, along the douro river almost all the way to Pinhao and then south to Covilha. I arrived at the hotel soaking wet and left a "nice" puddle on the lobby's floor. What an experience.
Great video! If you’re interested in more motorcycle adventures, here’s a link to my recent tour of Portugal: ruclips.net/video/2H4Yq5T16fI/видео.htmlsi=v84Rp98YgnpuDxHg. I explored the famous N222 and some amazing coastal routes-hope you enjoy it!

Hello American, if you liked the n222, you need to try the n2, with a guide on where to stop. You will definitely like it.

Great ride! Any plans to cycle around the country in 2025?
Have been the mountain with CB500X last December. never expected to the insane view!

It is a beautiful road even if you're, unfortunately, having a rainy day, all day long... Happened to me in Nov. 2022.
You from Portugal?
