Fun list! Obviously a lot has changed over 2 years, probably the most surprising, Erik Karlsson scoring 100 points in a season. This is what my top list would look like today (excluding goalies) 1. Elias Petersson 2. Erik Karlsson 3. Mika Zibanejad 4. Rasmus Dahlin 5. Victor Hedman 6. William Nylander 7. Elias Lindholm 8. Jesper Bratt 9. Filip Forsberg 10. Hampus Lindholm In the future I can see Lucas Raymond and Leo Karlsson be on this list!
I think Erik is nr 1, besides Nicklas Lidström the best d-men in Sweden overall. Nu pun intended towards Börje Salming Who paved the way for europens but wasnt as succesful besides that
I think the main draw with Landeskog is that he plays on the best line in the NHL. He's part of what makes it good, but his stats obviously wouldn't look the same if he played in Anaheim or something.
I was a big hockey nut back in the day... Unfortunately reality and growing up comes at you fast sometimes and I havnt really been following anything beyond the World Championship since. Thought this was a best of all time list so I was kinda surprised when I didn't recognize alot of the names 🤣 Anyway, even as a Swede it's hard to make a top 10 list no matter if it's all time or not. All I know is that Nicklas Lidström, Peter Forsberg and Mats Sundin are the the greatest players we ever had. Then it's just a blur of fantastic players. Alfredsson, Zäta, the Sedins, Lundqvist... I'm sure you already know. The only current players I really have a decent grasp on are Elias Pettersson and William Nylander. From what I've seen Elias looks like he might become a legend.
Good video, i would go Hedman, Backstrom, Zibanejad, Klingberg, Elias Pettersson, Filip Forsberg, Lehner, Markstrom, Elias Lindholm, Erik Karlsson. Erik should be higher but right now hes bad as ....., and i didnt forget Nylander he just need to be more consistency
Hey Ethan, the prospect series is done for the 2020-21 season, however once the 2021 Draft is over we will start that series up for the next season if you’d like to see the Caps prospects then
Does Nylander have 2 options? His father was a Swedish NHL player I know, but I think William grew up in Canada and the U.S. I'd like to see him playing for Sweden but when I look for his national team sweater, it's in the Canadian section.
Time out. Why is Nicklas Backstrom at #2? He has over 700 assists, he has 9 50 assist seasons, and he has only had 28 games in his career where he didn't have a point. And he is probably the best saucer passer in nhl history
Because Hedman is just that good. He is as good offensively as he is defensively. Perfect size, amazing hockey IQ, fantastic shutdown ability, great offensive instinct for a Dman and has been arguably the best defenseman in the NHL the last four years. There are simply no weaknesses to his game and at 30 he's still in his prime and already a lock for the HOF. Bäckström might make it to the HOF with a couple more good seasons and playoff campaigns, but not a lock.
@@ROCKSTARR338 Not enough personal accolades but that's just my two cents. Things like that tend to weigh heavily when a player is considered for HOF. Many great players never made it to the HOF. He has a strong case no doubt. Maybe if he beat a record? He is known for his playmaking so overtaking Lidströms assist record for Swedish born players would make him a lock. Winning an individual trophy at his age would also definitely solidify him into the books.
IMO Mika is top 3, Karlsson shouldn't be on the list at this point I would replace him with either Dahlin or Forsberg with rearranging the order a bit.
I have two things, Elias is a very good player but not elite so in my mind he is top 10-15 and not higher and I would rank Zibanejad lower due to his streakiness and then I would add Filip Forsberg in the 7-9 range

How come Nicklas, is at #2?
Backstrom currently has four more points then Hedman

That was a good list, but I would take Gabriel Landeskog on the list.
Oh man it was so hard to leave him off! Totally understand that
I think the main draw with Landeskog is that he plays on the best line in the NHL. He's part of what makes it good, but his stats obviously wouldn't look the same if he played in Anaheim or something.
I would have put Mika Z. a bit higher.
How is Filip Forsberg not present ? And Zibanejad behind Lindholm ? Please do your homework.
Good job

You forgot to mention that Mika Zibanejad had a 5 goal game
It's time for an updated list ⭐
Can you do a all Sweden top 15 or maybe 20? 10 is not enough
Landeskog 100% missing.
Petey to soon
Can you do a top 5 Caps prospect list? I think that would be cool
Hey Ethan, the prospect series is done for the 2020-21 season, however once the 2021 Draft is over we will start that series up for the next season if you’d like to see the Caps prospects then
I think Willy overshadows both Marner and Matthews.
Louis Eriksson, VAN, for top spot!!
☺️🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Can you please do NHL top 10 prospects that drafted by the NHL. That’s not playing in the NHL this season.
We could take a look at doing that in the offseason
How would this list look now?
I think Nils Höglander should be on this list for sure. Atleast in the future..
5/10 från Norrland 💪
Finns ju inget annat att göra där, hockey eller gruvan.
@@TzOn79 Norrland är halva sverige pucko
Do you have Landeskog as an honorable mention?
Essentially yes. With the combined rankings, he is just a tad outside of the top 10
Where is Hendrik Lundquist??
Landeskog playing golf
PART 2
I hope you are doing a top 10 Czech players too ^_^
You read our minds! We have plans to keep expanding on this series over the spring/summer and the Czechs are on the list
Landeskog ffs
Does Nylander have 2 options? His father was a Swedish NHL player I know, but I think William grew up in Canada and the U.S.

Nylander plays for Sweden
@@ljummingen Takk! 😉
Mika should be higher. but othervise i agree. Maybe OEL and Rasmus Dahlin should be on the list though?
as finn i can say, that swedish d-men are better than ours but we have the sharper arrowhead with the fowards now
Nah
No you don't lol

This series is not about history and past accomplishment. Backstrom is old and declining.
Because Hedman is just that good. He is as good offensively as he is defensively. @@gulanhem9495 umm he had a 53 point season, 15 goals and 33 assist

can you laso do Goalis
So about 2 years later… you didn’t have many rights about the players on your list😉
Zibanejad top 5
Canadians
Canadians and Russians are both on our list 👍
Next russians
IMO Mika is top 3, Karlsson shouldn't be on the list at this point I would replace him with either Dahlin or Forsberg with rearranging the order a bit.
Youre predictions a bit off coming off the season he has done😅
6:25 Karlssons best years is behind him. 2023, nope =)
