It is a sure thing that these machine won't fail unless is something really serious going on and even then you just adjust , clean, or change a part and they will sew like new, plus they're beautiful to watch and a joy to use 😍
I've dragged around my grandmothers 1938 15-88 for over 40 years, recently oiled it up and it works great, still the original belt which is very beat up. Great except my wife keeps giving me sewing jobs.
I have my aunt s old hand machine which is even older and I still stitches beautifully !
