@@daviddowling2822 Steph Curry is a better basketball player than Lebron James... just has less stats... let me prove it to you easily... Lebron and KD are floor raisers... they raise the floor of your team and Lebron in his prime (not now that he is a borderline liability with no defense and no effort) raised the floor of your team A LOT more than Steph could... but Steph raises THE CEILING of your team... and he raises it to a level that Lebron and KD can't even dream of... why? Cause if you put a good coach and good teammates around Steph (something that both Lebron and KD have had in their careers) he is willing to sacrifice his stats, be part of a great system, make everybody's life so easy that they're shooting fucking practice shots and wide open layups because of the attention Steph is getting and be part of a well oiled machine who seems unbeatable and everyone is saying "Steph is lucky to have such good teammates and coaches" while in reality Steph is the one that makes everyone great... teammates, coaches, everyone... the Warriors system doesn't exist without Steph... just like the Spurs system doesn't exist without Duncan... Stephen Curry is 100% a top 10 player of all time.. and overall he's more valuable even than Lebron cause I'd rather have a player who can raise the ceiling of a very talented team to "unbeatable" than have Lebron raise the floor of a less talented team to "we have a shot" and keep the ceiling of a very talented team like Miami from being unbeatable to "we are vulnerable, we have weaknesses"... Lebron's selfish playstyle gives him insane stat lines but he keeps his team from achieving an "unbeatable" level of play cause he doesn't cater to his teammates strengths and demands that his teammates cater to his playstyle even if it doesn't suit them (like Chris Bosh turned into a catch and shoot shooter while he wasn't even a very good one or Kevin Love being turned into Steve Novak and sitting on the corner 3 all night long for example)... Long story short, I would much rather start a franchise around Steph than Lebron because I know I will have much more success in winning rings with Steph if I have a contender level roster... sorry but the Warriors replaced KD with Wiggins and they're practically the same team... why? CAUSE STEPH WAS THE BEST PLAYER ON THAT TEAM ALL ALONG!!! Just not on the stat sheet... stats don't win games!!!
As a Warrior fan, I'm just really blessed that back in 2013, I followed this team. The first player I actually loved watching was Harrison Barnes. The way this organization handled everything: from Monta Ellis departure to building dynasty. Organization-wise they are the best right now and don't get me started with Steph. The way I remembered Melo and Iverson laughing/angry when they told about the thought of them playing off the bench just tells us how Steph doesn't deserve any hate. He is down to earth and always been underappreciated.
Curry probably deserved the finals MVP, but Iguodala was so so good that series. It's one of those situations where even when he's not scoring he was helping his team so much. Easily the second best player on the warriors at that time.
Iggy didn't deserve that over Steph. He knows it... prolly Co mvp buy Steph was getting it done. They did want to give to Bron that's why they gave it to the guy guarded him.
God I love the Warriors and especially Steph. They were what got me into basketball in the 2015-2016 season, but I felt the need to pick a different team bc of all the talk about bandwagon fans. After all these years though, there’s still just something about the way they play that makes for an utterly incomparable viewing experience. They just seem to make everyone better, as this season has been a beautiful testament to. They’re better at building great players from the ground up than any other program I’ve ever seen
The problem is that people put too much importance on awards as a whole. Not winning a FMVP doesn't change how good Steph was in those finals at all. A trophy doesn't change how great you are.
6:15 I disagree with Bill being on this list since the Finals MVP didn't come into existence until the last year of his career, so he was only snubbed once out of a possible 12 times (the award that year went to Jerry West, which is the only time a losing player has ever won it). In addition, it's literally named after him. As for that series, Bill arguably wasn't even the most valuable *center.* Wilt outperformed him, at least statistically. Bill averaged 9, 21, and 5 on 40% shooting vs 12, 25, and 3 on 50% for Chamberlain. Meanwhile, Jerry West went for 38, 5, and 7 on a team that nearly pulled off a comeback in game 7 only to be stifled when Wilt injured his knee. So, yeah, he technically is on the list, but come on.
It's definitely one of the best given how close the game was, the pivotal game 5. Had the Warriors lost that game, they would have had to win a game 6 in Cleveland to keep the series alive.
@@clemz9013 Yea, it would have shifted the momentum, and put the pressure on the Warriors instead of the Cavs. He was an absolute assassin in that 4th quarter.

That's the most dissonant train of thought ever. We almost selected a player from the loosing team because of how good he was, but we're going to select a player that let him play that good.
Putting Iggy in the starting lineup in G4 of the 2015 Finals was definitely one of the game changers for the Warriors, but I think one of the key things that gets swept under the rug during that series is while Steph was struggling G1-2 and Q1-3 of G3, he adjusted better and started getting his rhythm from 4th Q of G3 which translated into the following 3 games. If i remember correctly, the Warriors made a run in the 4th Q of G3 that made it close, or maybe im tripping
Hindsight is hindsight. I love it how Mike pretends that he was on the Curry train from the beginning, no one (at the time) knew Curry was going be as great as he was.
I stand by Iggy deserving the award not only did he seemingly make lebron scoring look tougher he anchored both the defense & offense whenever he was on the court in the winning games & loosing games he was the most impactful player on both sides for the warriors. Curry played good but he was consistently slipping until iggy was on the court. I love curry but this revisionist history is so weird Iggy deserves that award watch it back
His selflessness doesn’t get awarded but it should, a super star with a humble mentality of putting the team first, what else should equate to the fmvp more than that??
I disagree with the notion that Curry's offensive numbers were enough for the FMVP. Had he won, I wouldn't have been upset. But you have to take into account that Iguodala was a major factor offensively, while having to guard James on the defensive end. It was his 2 way play that won him that award.
If Curry offense was so good I wouldn't know who Della Vedova is The fact that a random dude that's a bench warmer can step up and become famous in the finals guarding you tells me all I need to know on who to vote for fmvp
@@tpsam We're practically saying the same thing. IJS if Curry did get MVP, there wasn't anyone else, other than Iguodala who was worthy of it. But, ultimately, the right player received it. Also, the same way Iguodala didn't shut down James, but made it tough for him, is the reason he was given the award. That same thing applies to Delly in regards to Curry. He didn't shut Curry down. He just made the game tough, for him. Curry still averaged good numbers. They were just tougher to come by. So, just like Iguodala, he deserves recognition. That doesn't mean he shut Curry down and rendered him useless. But, I see where you're coming from.
For start, I did not watch 2015 NBA finals, so I only speak from what is on the internet. However I think that 2015 finals MVP going to Iggy can be similar to hypothetical situation that in recent GSW vs MAVS Western Conference Finals the MVP would be given to Andrew Wiggins. Like, both were situation where said player was put on guard for the most dominant player on the floor, in 2015 it was LBJ, and now Doncič, and both did great job in their matchup. However the defence is not how you win games, you win by scoring more points than oponent, and that is the job of offence. And so the MVP is the guy that contributes most to having more points than the other team, and noone will ever make me think that in both of those situations, Steph was not that guy. He won 2022 WCF MVP, and he should have won 2015 Finals MVP as well.
Interesting.. Iggy wasn't really a bench player that became a starter in the playoffs. Kerr asked him to come off the bench in the regular season to develop Harrison Barnes and probably bolster the bench unit.
To be honest, I also always felt like Steph should have won the FMVP in 2018. He outplayed KD in 3 out of the 4 games, but he just had 1 really bad game. But I feel like that 1 bad game shouldn't have taken away from what he was able to do in every other game of the series.
Mike, I may be a Celtics fan but chill on your take. If we go down to the warriors it’ll be a fight, best defensive team in the league. Not gonna be some cake walk like everyone thinks it’ll be.
I hope the warriors pulls out this win against whoever they're facing in the finals. But if miraculously they lose, steph still has a good 2-3 more chances at another chip as it is right now
Hot take... If you are doing an all-time fantasy draft, I take Steph number 1. Yes there is mj, lbj, Shaw, Kareem magic countless others... Can you name a single superstar who is as good as an individual and influential on the whole team plan and selfless in the team building/moral. Literally if you make up a create a pro and give them all the traits you want you would have Steph (but maybe in kd body)
Because he's dumb. He also said David robinson, bill russel, Kevin Garnett, Julius Erving, and AD WEREN'T ALPHA DOGS and didn't build up franchises?!?! Mike's seriously losing his touch...
In general a great video, but the argument that Bill Russell doesn't have a single Finals MVP is ridiculous. He would've won multiple if the award existed in his days.
People litreally disrespect curry so much, bcoz he did not get a Finals Mvp... But all the Final Mvps were just given to Kd, where he was litreally left free when Curry was double or triple teamed
Numbers matter but look that series game by game because sometimes numbers cant show the full impact of a player. Finals Most VALUABLE Player and in 2015 that was lebron. If lebron and curry traded teams lebron wins in 4 or 5 games
I hadn't seen the voting results before and I have to say they make no sense to me... I mean Iguodala won that MVP because he was the main guy guarding LeBron and did a great job (regardless of the numbers James put up). Then, if LeBron was checked by Iguodala to the extent of him winning Finals MVP for it, how in the hell can LeBron be in the running for MVP over Curry?
2015 is the most joke of FMVP in the history of NBA, the criteria to get it is to defend Lebron not to who was the best player on the winning team in the Final, and the reason that was the criteria is because the panel want to give it to Lebron as the best player in a losing team. 2018 also had the same Criteria but now they added a storyline of KD being as good as Lebron.
This is my question. Does having good teammates make a player better? A lot of people through out the “super team/ dynasty” debate but i think that in a team sport, in which basketball is, having a good team shouldn’t take away from a players achievements
Having a good team 100℅ makes a player better. The star doesn't have to work as hard to create shot opportunities. They also have a structured identity and roles. It's just the way team sports work. We need more context when we deal with a guy like Steph though. People like to call them a super team when their whole core is homegrown. Now we see them grooming new rookies who are already making an impact. It's clear that culture is playing a bigger part here and good leadership as well. At this point Steph reminds me of Tim Duncan. We could argue the Spurs were stacked back when he played. But because Spurs weren't media favorite nobody called them a super team. What's crazy is they had 3 hall of fame players against Lebron in 2012. And Kawhi isn't on that list.
Exactly. I always see people ask the question who would you start a franchise with, for me the 5 graters players of all time to start a franchise with from let's say the 70s to today MJ Magic Kobe Tim Duncan Steph (in any order, but I would only put MJ and Magic over Steph, not Kobe because he did want to leave at one point and had issues with Shaq etc)
The statement that the finals MVP always has to go to a player of the winning team no matter what is little bit unnuanced, I think you can make an argument in extreme outliers like the 2015 NBA Finals (or the 1969 Finals). I think if the 2015 series went 7 games LeBron really could've won it. The best winning team doesn't guarantee the regular season MVP, but it obviously helps a lot. I see it the same way in the Finals if the winning team is just slightly better. It is an individual award in the end, not a team award.
Well, let's be fair, the finals MVP trophy is also called the Bill Russel award, I'd take having the award for finals MVP named after me vs winning it 6x
Iggy winning the MVP was a good thing in my opinion. Iggy wasn't just a bench guy. He was THE bench guy, as in sixth man award bench guy. Without Iggy on the Warriors, they would not have won that championship. His versatility is what got him that mvp award, not just his numbers.
Another championship or not, Finals MVP or not, Steph in my book is the most influential player in this generation, and is the best role model by a country mile.

People didn’t fully appreciate curry gravity and how him being out there lets everyone score back in 2015, I think he should have won FMVP
Curry probably deserved the finals MVP, but Iguodala was so so good that series. It's one of those situations where even when he's not scoring he was helping his team so much. Easily the second best player on the warriors at that time.
naw they wanted to give it to lebron. instead they gave it to the guy that guarded bron
Hell nah LeBron still cooked Steph averaged 28 he got robbed
Guess Draymond just died with all the passing and defence anchoring he did.
@@123nowguy what tf you are talking about?
Mike!!!! I’m still hyped from meeting you the other week and I always get jazzed when you make a video. Keep doing you man
The list you posted of season 1-5 and 6-13 tells me another thing aside from Steph being amazing - Dame is still underrated.
The problem is that people put too much importance on awards as a whole. Not winning a FMVP doesn't change how good Steph was in those finals at all. A trophy doesn't change how great you are.
Speak for yourself tf lol
100% agree!!
Curry's game 5 4th quarter performance is arguably the greatest 4th quarter performance in Finals history.
Iggy was so proud of his Finals MVP. He earned his nod. With KD getting it back to back was absurd. His mom got him the 2nd one, lobbying for KD. He deserved the 2nd one Steph
Warriors were definitely NOT an A+ organization before Stephen Curry came along. To be fair, the change in ownership is likely a huge reason for culture change, but so was Curry's emergence.
Steph def winning his 4th ring against the Heat/Celtics.Warriors in 6!!!
Knock on wood
Klay with that finals MVP? Might as well keep the pattern going.
@@ericf91 I was just joking about how curry hasn't gotten a finals MVP yet.
@@ericf91 he's the most realistic candidate.
@@ericf91 he had a legittimate case in 2 out of 3 Rings so it's not like he never had a chance, It depends What Is "valuable" for you, i'm a Golden State fan and i don't think he deserved the iguodala One, that was clearly LeBron's finals MVP and i still think he got robbed, but One of the durant's It was a 50/50, they both had great finals, One super game and One bad game and stats were pretty equal but steph was way more valuable for the team, he was double teamed in multiple occasion in that finals and he Always di the right play to make the team score
That's the most dissonant train of thought ever. We almost selected a player from the loosing team because of how good he was, but we're going to select a player that let him play that good.
Very nice output bro very precise, specific and catchy so inspirational. More Power Bro
Suns when you think you’re the best in the NBA and deserves all the credit
love the msg stat, its almost as if the knicks have no home court advantage at all, everyone playing in the garden plays like they're at home
its still funny when there are amount of people that talk about Chef like they are Skip 🤣
Been on the curry train
I think kawhi winning FMVP the year before helped with selecting iggy
As a mavs fan I am sad that the warriors won but curry was insane during game 5
are sure about he only scored 12
I think he had a decent 2nd half but overall it was below his standard 29% not really insane
You mean Klay?
@@ItsBlazeVibes both curry and klay
@@GlitchedPhoenix he didn't do much in game 5. Klay did quite a bit more offensively and Defensively.
Loved him since I was 6, early 2014 he was a underaged stud at that time
I stand by Iggy deserving the award not only did he seemingly make lebron scoring look tougher he anchored both the defense & offense whenever he was on the court in the winning games & loosing games he was the most impactful player on both sides for the warriors. Curry played good but he was consistently slipping until iggy was on the court. I love curry but this revisionist history is so weird Iggy deserves that award watch it back
No
His selflessness doesn’t get awarded but it should, a super star with a humble mentality of putting the team first, what else should equate to the fmvp more than that??
Even all my old school (old days were better) friends agree that Steph is the greatest shooter ever and one of the greatest. It’s undeniable
nice edit dude. that was funny. I might sub.
This thumbnail go crazy😭
@1:40 That's Mike Korzemba himself in the background
I’m a huge cavs fan but I had to bow down to his greatness vs the king
Curry made me fall in love with basketball
I disagree with the notion that Curry's offensive numbers were enough for the FMVP.
Had he won, I wouldn't have been upset. But you have to take into account that Iguodala was a major factor offensively, while having to guard James on the defensive end.
It was his 2 way play that won him that award.
If Curry offense was so good I wouldn't know who Della Vedova is
The fact that a random dude that's a bench warmer can step up and become famous in the finals guarding you tells me all I need to know on who to vote for fmvp
This man about 2 choke Cs in 6
Another Korzemgoat upload 🔥🔥🔥
This one video destroys skip bayless’s argument about Steph not being a closer. 🤦🏾♂️🤣
Lol indeed
Throwing things at Charles Barkley 😂😂 I didn’t agree with Iggy winning that FMVP back in 2k15 either btw.
Absolutely agree with you, what's the point if you lose the game?
The fact that Curry hasn’t won Finals MVP yet is kinda weird. He looks like he’s finally gonna get one tho. I’m not a Warriors fan, but go Curry!
This is greatness man not a warriors fan but curry and the warriors got my respect no cap
LJs stat’s in that final tho😳
Definitely didn’t go unappreciated
6:22 OMG I didn't know that Bill Russell the guy named to the finals mvp, didn't even win a single one
Steph had Matt Delavadova guarding him lol
Delly looked like he smoked 30 packs of Pall Malls after
Interesting.. Iggy wasn't really a bench player that became a starter in the playoffs. Kerr asked him to come off the bench in the regular season to develop Harrison Barnes and probably bolster the bench unit.
A real bench warmer is Della Vedova who became famous exactly because Curry couldn't earn a finals mvp
most unselfish hall of hamer of all time🔥
I’ve been saying since it happened that Steph should’ve won that finals mvp. He got robbed worse than Jordan Poole did
Totally agree
They playing heat..
lolz restaurants... remember those??
Iggy himself said he didn’t deserve to win that FMVP
To be honest, I also always felt like Steph should have won the FMVP in 2018. He outplayed KD in 3 out of the 4 games, but he just had 1 really bad game. But I feel like that 1 bad game shouldn't have taken away from what he was able to do in every other game of the series.
Mike, I may be a Celtics fan but chill on your take. If we go down to the warriors it’ll be a fight, best defensive team in the league. Not gonna be some cake walk like everyone thinks it’ll be.
I hope the warriors pulls out this win against whoever they're facing in the finals. But if miraculously they lose, steph still has a good 2-3 more chances at another chip as it is right now
I like how Iggy got the mvp from his defence and grit.
Mike I love your videos they’re always interesting
6:53 how to piss my dad. (He’s a lifelong Celtics fan)
1:49 how are you gonna put Luka and Trae on this list when they haven't even played close to 7 seasons yet? 🤨🤨 Am I missing something??
Cause their not getting any worse
Because he's dumb. He also said David robinson, bill russel, Kevin Garnett, Julius Erving, and AD WEREN'T ALPHA DOGS and didn't build up franchises?!?! Mike's seriously losing his touch...
Ehh I don’t even think bron would’ve wanted it but he was clearly finals mvp everything else is great tho lol
lesson: go to the garden to be a CERTIFIED star
FMVP jordan pool or draymond green hahahha
In general a great video, but the argument that Bill Russell doesn't have a single Finals MVP is ridiculous. He would've won multiple if the award existed in his days.
Heat in 5 games 🔥
Well aged prediction about the Finals!
Rip Hamilton dropped 51!!?
Dude really put Bill Russell on the best players to never win a finals MVP. The award is literally named after him
This is my question.
This the srgument for Steph I always make. Look at what he did for the GSW. Now look at what KD did for OKC lol
Exactly. I always see people ask the question who would you start a franchise with, for me the 5 graters players of all time to start a franchise with from let's say the 70s to today
MJ
Magic
Kobe
Tim Duncan
Steph (in any order, but I would only put MJ and Magic over Steph, not Kobe because he did want to leave at one point and had issues with Shaq etc)
Can't wait for the last dance s2 on the warriors in 20 years
Bill Russel on the no finals mvp list rip
There was no finals MVP when he played bro
Well, let's be fair, the finals MVP trophy is also called the Bill Russel award, I'd take having the award for finals MVP named after me vs winning it 6x
It existed for his last title, when Jerry West robbed him of it.
I think at the very least, Iggy and Steph should've been co-MVPs of the 2015 Finals.
omer asik #7 lmao
Iggy winning the MVP was a good thing in my opinion. Iggy wasn't just a bench guy. He was THE bench guy, as in sixth man award bench guy. Without Iggy on the Warriors, they would not have won that championship. His versatility is what got him that mvp award, not just his numbers.
Another championship or not, Finals MVP or not, Steph in my book is the most influential player in this generation, and is the best role model by a country mile.
