"Lay tomb" once again French defeats Stanley, we're up 2-0 on you after Citadelle Awesome video, I absolutely love getting behind the scenes glimpses at game dev. It's crazy how far they were planning on going on complexity right away; imagine going from pretty typical Zombies 1.0 maps like Buried and Die Rise straight to this version, with 4 different Crazy Places, how much more confusing the orb step is, etc. I think like you said, this would work for something like a remaster in Black Ops 4, but I'm glad they sanded it down here because this being the first BO3-style map would have been TOO big of a change and almost impossible to adjust to. (the closest English transliteration of Le Tombeau would be something like "Luh Tom-bow" :) )

So that’s why the flogger is where it is in Rev! I’ve wondered about that for the longest time. Absolutely awesome video! I’ve always been really interested in video game cut content and early builds, so getting to ACTUALLY SEE in progress versions of a map I love instead of hearing “dude my dad works for Treyarch, ZC2 was planned for Black Ops 4” style rumors is almost magical. I think the velocity compensator quote from Richtofen references a glitch where you could die when ejecting from the robots. It happened to me when the robot stepped but somehow missed, walking into the trigger after may cause the glitch. The fall damage killed me instantly.
I love stuff like this so damn much. Seeing the original work that they were putting in, and basically storyboarding the Intro. And knowing what they had to change or cut from the game. It has to BE the BIGGEST find for the zombies community
The town in Origins kinda reminds me of the Black Ops 4 multiplayer map Der Schatten. That map was designed to be basically a zombies map but without zombies and takes place in a small town below Der Eisendrache. I don't think they reused the town from OG Origins but it wouldn't surprise me if the scrapped town inspired the map. Great video as always! Hope the money to get the modded xbox was worth it lmao
Great video so far Stanley but a small correction for the video is that the village wasn't just a rumor but confirmed to have been cut by Blundell himself on his (if I remember right) ZomBros interview. Apparently, it was because of memory constraints.
Part of me really wants expanded versions of old maps, just done better than BO4 Ascension was supposed to have 2 more lander areas if I remember correct, and that + reworked monkey’s could turn it into a perfect map The next time we get Origins I hope it has the village 🙏
GOD I wish they didn’t have to cut the town, it would’ve been such a cool thing to show how the frontlines in ww1 literally ran through towns and even houses.
Interesting that the Panzer had the BO3 panzer behavior where it sprinted faster after getting its helmet shot off? The panzer didn’t do that in BO2 Edit: thank god they removed the majority of the mud effects on screen.

Sad to think that a lot of these cut areas and features *probably* would have been done in the cut BO4 second season pass.

@mmmrkennedy the cutscene was dated for June which is abnormal because usually dlc 4 is done around dlc 2 but maybe they were behind
