Do you have a homebase to store all your stuff like your motorcycle?
One thing i have found is that it does not matter what others think about your living space....it's what works best for you! Best of luck with your new rig! Looks awesome!
Thank you!
T y for tour.
Functional. Practical.
Efficient. Sufficient.
Satisfied. Contentment.
Glad to see you out doing the "We're the Russos" from the road again.
Thanks!
Wornout Wrench Yes Indeed 👍
I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the Hymer a little bit.....but I'm digging it. Im excited to see all the new places you'll be able to venture to.
Would have been cool if that window was a pass through. In case there was a situation that required a hasty escape.
I stayed up most of the night the first time I bought a washer and dryer.
Joe, you can't just push on the bar to get the front up. You will bend your front panel hinges. I'm surprised FWC didn't tell you this during the walk through. You need to push directly on the roof where the plywood board is and then push the bar to lock into place.
The camper is so clean! That's the first thing I noticed! It's nice having that head space and the underbed storage! Nice camper all around! Take care and God bless you! Looking forward to your next adventures! 🤗
Thanks Regina!
I just started researching these...and I'm thinking of doing the flat bed model!!
Just ordered our Berky 1.5 gallon. Can’t wait to use it.
Enjoy!
Thank you for this video. Helps me and others I’m sure understand why you chose this over the Storyteller Overland 4x4 MOD etc. I’m sure its fitting your needs to live the NOMADIC lifestyle you two have always wanted. Blessings
Great to see you guys. Have a Blessed Week and Weekend
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your camper, enjoyed this information and ideas.
Looks like your settled in to it. Looking forward to your adventures.
Great video, I got some ideas for our Hawk slide in (I love the L track). Also thanks for doing a video to help others in their decision making regarding a great travel option since Fourwheel Campers makes a fantastic camper
You’re very welcome Melanie!
Nice detailed tour. Can't wait to see where you go with this overlander rig.
Seems that you have chosen the perfect home for your life! Very nice. It would be fun to see a review in a year or so to see how it is wearing.
Every time they climb up that ladder and duck through the hobbit door into that tiny, uninsulated space, I wonder WTH. Maybe the Crew Cab is like a second bedroom for those periods when someone needs some 'alone time'?😄 Glad you're happy, that's all that matters!
What do you mean, uninsulated? These campers are insulated.
Haven't seen any other vlogger in anything like your new camper. Really cool, functional and unique. Can't wait to see your future adventures on the road again in it. 👍😊
More to come!
I didnt like it at first but I can see you do. Its growing on me. You should get one of those little tent shower things for both the cassette toilet to sit in while you are stationary and to shower outdoors in. They look easy peasy to put up.
They are easy but they take up a lot of room
My initial reaction was “NOOOOOOO WHERE’S THE VAN” lol this was a great review on the camper!!!
Yeah I want one
This tour was nice, but where's the washer and dryer?
Kevin Tumlinson Only Joe’s mom knows.
@@jennycraigadventures3314 - hahahaha. It's along rural route 43. Ya know, that creek that runs alongside the road? And the dryer can be strung between one of those "steps" to the front of the door and a tree. LOL. I actually love their setup.
This was a good overview but the StoryTeller Overlander was you guys.......but then who am i to tell you anything.....you guys are you guys!!!!!! We enjoy you so much. Keep on doing what you are doing!
Thanks Paul - the Storyteller is awesome but for now this works better for us
You've covered all of these topics "at least" twice before over time. AND half this stuff is on the 4wheel campers website. Come on! - wake up wake up! back to life guys!! LOL ;-)
WTR, Hello. Thanks for the $5 tour, when I saw your ‘new’ logo & shirt I just laughed my butt off But I sent you a photo, of my badge on a work shirt, SAME THING that, was the reason I laughed, stay well, & take care , CHEERS FROM NJ USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Jersey!!
Glad you found a home for the Berkey because us Berkeys need a home! : )
Lol
Nice rig. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you!
Such an epic truck
Cool Rig!! Stay safe and have fun!!
Thanks Kevin!
Interesting ride I must say. I fail to sees how the living, bathroom or storage space is better than the Hymer or similar vans though??
Clearly you can do an amazing amount of overland travel in this rig. Hopefully we will see that in the near future.
I am trying to answer your question.
The bed is much wider and probably more comfortable.
The living area is much wider and this is a key issue for two people living in a small space - the hymer was narrow in the middle! and this came again and again in many videos, especially during cooking time - only one person could actually use most of the van and coffee could not be prepared while dinner was on its way!
There is a shower in the middle of the table if I am not mistaken and this is clever since it is not taking any extra space and is hidden during the 23 hours and is not in use.
A portable porta potty is better as it can be easily replaced with a new one at a relatively low cost in comparison to a fixed toilet.
I assume that the main reason for this camper was the bed that looks very comfortable to me - one piece that does not need any preparation for day/night use.
Another advantage is the separate driving areas (camper and driving area) which gives privacy to each of them - very important when living full time and not just during a holiday time.
I am leaving the rest to the Russos to explain .... but this is my understanding.
Beautifully organized. Great video. 👏🏻
Thanks for the detailed walk through ! Nice set up.
Happy to see you back :-)
Good to be back!
So glad to see you guy's back!
Thanks Jeannine!
i still think you need a pass through, just in case you need to bug out in a hurry without going outside, like say in a rainstorm
You should install a net on the back of your seats to protect yourself in the event of an accident
When describing the outside of the camper you mentioned the
" HOT WATER HEATER "
George Carlin would disagree with the terminology as
" HOT WATER DOESN'T NEED HEATING "
Just thought I'd pitch in a little humor for the comments section
NORTSTAR 8.5 ARROW

Hey Joe, are you all doing practices for an up comming add or something. You have done that tour to death!
Tom Cartmill Agreed! I thought I was replaying an old video. Had to check the posting time twice! Quit at 4 minutes.
It was like groundhog day !!! LOLOLOL
I would add an LED light under the bed in the storage area to make it easy to use in dark evenings. Sorry for this crazy idea!
Look closer and you’ll see ours. So not a crazy idea.
Awesome one ☝️ well organized buddy & excellent camper truck I really like it accept no 2 becoz we can use No 2 in different ways I mean no 2 is the best composed in the 🌎 for agriculture green planet 🌎
I really think this was great idea or ideal for a truck I would like to do the same to the next truck I buy.
So your kitchen sink tubular holding tank is about 7' long, so you have close to 5 gallons of storage? Nice mod! When the naysayers see the places you'll be able to go that your old camper wouldn't be able to go, I think they'll understand better. 4WCers are nice and functional. Looking forward to your new adventures.
That was my guess in terms of capacity. With the RV style blade valve, it works really nicely!
Your truck is badass!!!
Thanks!
Great Vid Joe stay safe out there
Thanks Citrus!
No Oshkosh video to look forward to this year :( excited for next year!
Really nice outfit you've got there. I've seen a camper similar to that before, but way to pricey for my blood. But, I sure do like it.
Despite watching many videos like this, and looking at countless websites, I find that weights are seldom mentioned. Usually one can find the the starting weight of a non-optioned camper, but that’s it. I would love to know a couple of weights for your build, if you have them: what’s the net weight change, higher or lower, going from the stock steel pickup bed to the optioned up aluminum Norweld tray? Also, what is the weight of the camper outfitted as you did this walkthrough, with the options, accessories, batteries/electrical, etc..., either with or without gear? Looks awesome, by the way!
Camper with all our options is 1640 lbs. The Norweld flat bed is definitely lighter than the steel but no idea how much of a difference.
We're the Russos: Many thanks!! 🙏
You’re very welcome
Okay, now you’ve got me jealous 😾
awesome explanation and thanks for sharing,
Glad you liked it!
I’m not sure I would ever tell anybody you have a bathroom 😂
Nice walk thru
Glad you enjoyed
THANKS! Please show us how you bring your motorcycle along!
Yes, I'd like to see that too
Great video
Nice walk through Joe. But I wanna see you on the road again, I can’t wait to see you guys on the road again, I wanna see all the beautiful places you go to, so I can’t wait to see you on the road again, lol. Cheers from Mario Australia.
We’re back on the road. Should have some good stuff coming. If you want daily content from the road check us out on Instagram.
Joe, How did you get the Eva-Dry dehumidifier to accept 12V. I have the same unit in another brand that's 9V @ 3A so 27 watts. Did you add a buck converter or buy one? I looked on your website and didn't see it. Thanks. I'm so happy that you all like your new rig. Very nice!!
EvaDry sells the adapter.
Thank you for the tour. This is very helpful for me. I am trying to decide what kind fo camper i should get (trailer vs. truck mounted vs. Class A / B C). Each one seems to have its own benefits and drawbacks.
Good!
Love the video
Thanks!
Who saw the sasquatch at 18:00?
He is real!......And he's interested in Hawk campers!
Hey Joe and Kait I've been looking for a counter top organizer bin/basket for our camper. I see in your vid something that looks cool storing your dehumidifier in. Where did you find that and what's the brand? Thanks, glad you're on the road again and having fun. Bob
Hey Bob - no clue! It’s just a small basket we had and we strapped it to the wall. Works great
I don't wish to be negative. I hope they paid you well for your infomercial. We are long time full timers. I want you to show me some fun boondock sites. Please be specific when you find a great campsite.
Loved the tour!
Thanks Rando
@@Weretherussos You are welcome, please take care of yourselves...You both are such nice caring people....one day we got to meet...safe travels! Check out my website www.bbqrando.com if you can!
THIS . Okay Doug DeRusso. lol.. Absolutely sickening rig tho 9/10 imo
Thanks Joe!
Lost me when you said full time and showed an empty fridge. We sure miss your van and this is nothing compared to your old setup. Hope you guys are staying safe.
I thought they were staying in a rental house for the lockdown? Maybe that's why their fridge is empty right now.
Hi folks been meaning to say hi jp
I.like the Russo s too
Thanks Joe for the information and video, very nice indeed.
You rv is awesome 👏
Thanks!
Can you demonstrate shower in use, please?
Sure.
Fantastic job!
Hello you never mentioned if you can close the top with all bedding in place (pillows, comforter, etc). Can you let us know. Thanks.
We can’t because we have a custom mattress that’s thicker.
This was a bad decision compared to the previous camper. Its cumbersome and not user friendly. Maybe you did this because of price?
I think they did this because they could overland and boondock in remote places. The van had a very low clearance to the ground.
Roomy. You seem to have more space rather than stuffy w extra storage in your first one...
Absolutely
@@Weretherussos It is not only the space area that matters, but also the way it is organized. I love spaces that are wide and not narrow. This gives the feeling of roomy area to live in .
I have always liked that camper model.loved the tour.looks like you have more room.did the led lites and l track come with it or is that something you did?
The lights came like that from the factory but we did install the l-track ourselves.
Nice new truck camper!❤️ May I know why you changed from your previous van to this new truck?
Check out this video ruclips.net/video/As3nwZPBHGE/видео.html
Keep up the good work!
Hi brother, Hi sister!
Ok, during a bad storm, winds up to 30 mph, and you are out in nowhere....what do you do? thanks
Nothing different than normal. High winds and rain in this are fine.
How are you guys doing back on the road? Thanks and stay safe!
Nice rig. Perfect setup
Thanks!
I watch all your videos, but I always forget to tell you how lucky you are to have such a lovely charming wife, Kait. Cheers!
Jon
Jon and Kate compliment each other perfectly.
nice rig
All of these things are very nice, BUT I can buy a standard size van for less than the price of the lowest priced Hawk, and have enough left over for beds and basics, and go from there. I have seen a few used vans in very good condition for under $12,000 and can put in solar power and insulation, fridg, stove, and a portable toilet for a couple of thousand more, and still be well under $30,000. Another point is that a van that looks like a noraml vehicle will get less attention from thieves, and won't look like a place where people are living/sleeping
so I can sleep in an regular parking space. Or think of it this way: A van with folding beds, a generators, solar panels and a few other things is much better, and safer, than the best tent. Also, I can use the van for work or delivery jobs which make it tax deductable.
It is best for two. In my place Malaysia for toilet better go to R & R place.(relaxation and rest )
The Berkeley spout on the shower floor may not be ideal.
Really liking the new rig! It's definitely more my style. Though a pop-up remains a questionable option as I too will be full timing. So the back rack is only in-lieu of the jacks, mounting where the jacks would otherwise attach?
Thanks - yes the back rack is in lieu of the jacks
Nice and detailed tour! Love the off road capability of the rig. Now that you guys are back on the road again living full time, how much time on average does it take to fully setup camp? Also how do you stay leveled on un-even sites?
As always great video guys! Looking forward to your future off road adventures.
It only take about 5-10 min to set up. We typically don’t worry about being level. Close enough is good enough
good job man ..
Thank you.
Would you mind letting me know that what is the length and the width of the truck bed on which the camper is installed? Thanks
How is the fridge empty but you’re living in it full time?
Does the 2000 watt converter have proper ventilation or does it get warm or hot when used
Haven’t had any issues with it yet
there is no pass-through, how can the toilet be used while on the road. Just pull over and release outside.
Sorry - I meant we could stop and use it.
What’s the all-in cost?
Big mistake in purchase of this "meh" thing, sorry. But still will follow... I hope you sell it soon and buy 4X4 van, or regular class B.
You guys are awesome! Great video as always 👍
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!
the price wasmuch more reasonable then the 4x4 Camper Van
I have one question, would it have been possible to install a passthrough to the truck cab?
Been watching your channel for a little over a year, thanks for all the information that you put out. My question is I'm looking at used campers and I've heard some people on RUclips say if your campers over 10 years old, some parks will not let you come in. Wondering if you know any thing about this or what type of parks have this type of rules.
Thanks and be safe.
Yes it’s true but they’re the more expensive options and not places we stay. Most are not like that.
What is the cost of the van? What are tge documents need to travel around the world with a van for vehicle? And what type of driving license is need for traveling around the world with this type of van or any other vehicle? Hoping for your answer. Thanks in advance...
Well it will definitely go deep into the outback but.....I don’t like it. It’s not my style. I liked the Storyteller myself. Well let’s see where that 4wd Ford is gonna go 👍🏼
