Just played a cEDH pod at one of my LGS’s yesterday. There was one Nadu player at the table. He proceeded to get bullied for the first 4 turns of the game until he was essentially locked out of the game. It made my day.
Since you are on Spellseeker, the full breach package, e-tutor and final fortune... have you considered Ephemerate? Spellseeker + Ephemerate enables you to assemble the full breach line. At the same time ephemerate blinks dockside, blinks Nadu resetting its effect on all your creatures, it can also work as protection from spot removal, can reset oracle... idk i see only upsides and extra layers for just one extra slot.
As a former Najeela player the card that I found to be better than Grim hireling and professional face breaker was Druids Repository. If you are going to play Najeela I'd strongly recommend making space for this card- it is less known and Ive found that it rarely gets countered and once it lands on the field is really hard to interact with.
Druids Repository is old school Najeela tech. Not as good as Nature’s Will tho! But for our purposes with this build, neither of those really layer with the rest of the gameplab
I think this is a great evolution of breakfast to 5c. I might consider a soul cauldron package personally, but I'm surprised that there's no Faeburrow Elder in this list. Besides that nitpick, I think that list is super neat!
Hey Ian. It was fun playing against you this weekend. Cool to see you at the summit. I was the rogthras player who didnt get to do much in our round 2 match. I loved seeing this deck do its najeela thing. Didnt see the nadu, but i assumed it was there with the en-kor in the list.
This Nadu breakfast storm is in my 99 build project of Kenrith, but it's also valid with Najeela game plan, cool tech!! Thanks for show this thought process in another angle, it's inspire me a lot.
Nadu slaps-was toying with mothman as a nadu trigger bot and fc outlet and that felt super sweet, but running a deck without a broken commander lacking red was rough in this economy.
I slotted Nadu in the 99 of Aesi made a few minor changes and now it feel totally different way faster and smoother. I hope it doesn’t get the ban hammer but wouldn’t be surprised if it did. Shukos up!!!
If the Najeela plan really isn’t working maybe you could get the same early fierce and swat out of Ezio? Does basically nothing besides offer 5 colours though. Also you mentioned Kenrith as a possible shell for this and I think that could be very powerful too.
I’m wondering if the new rabbit warrior Baylen has a home. A warrior who turns our tokens into an engine if we can’t go to combat or win with damage seems pretty dang cool.
I can't imagine being on the opposing side of an argument with Ian when it's about some fundamental part of cEDH deck building/tournament play he's gotten to the level of success where if the dude says something is a certain way, you bet your ass I'm gonna go along with it 😆
Hey from MH3 release ive been playing 5c Kenrith Nadu, ive almost gone off with nadu and shuko but with so many stax pieces and interaction, I fizzled a bit, was definitely an abnomal game with a Sefris that played a phyrexian censor and a blue farm D con for a FoW that LOST them the game. I couldnt convert even under ranger captain protection. Im certainly new to 5c let alone kenrith, didnt even know the phimage line.
I truly think this is a way to innovate. Focus on packages, not commanders. This version of nageela is not like the others, don’t bucket them together. Same with Clam Chowder. The blue farm guy with steal and copy enchantment?? Fire. The best cards are spread across all five colors and you have to play blue (sorry but it’s true) so you need the shell of 3-5 colors with blue. From there, if your list has 10-20 different cards in it, that’s an archetype! We can celebrate that diversity
One interesting tech piece that I haven't had a full chance to evaluate (but since this is in a combat-oriented deck, also), have you considered Reconnaissance? Similar to Greaves, it's not typically good enough to see play in a tight 99, but it's another piece that works with Nadu and Illusionist while incidentally protecting your attacks.

Listening to Ian talk about Nadu makes me wonder if that’s the future of Atraxa. The deck already runs almost all of the creature tutors.

I’ve been cooking with an Ardenn thrasios deck with nadu and it’s been a blast

I've built a casual list with nadu in the 99 and I was dabbling with the idea of food chain and omo as the commander as an enabler for nadu as well
